Midfielder. 15 goals, 17 assists last year. Likes shooting from long range. 151 atempts, 100 of which were from outside the box.

I'll say it now, quote me (rightly or wrongly), he'll never produce that form (goals and assists) in the EPL. His attempt rate nails it tbh but I hope he rips it up! Type of player I like!

torn on waiting on Aguero for a GW in case he's eased into the season like last year.

Benteke: seems best value to me at 8.5, getting double figures each season for villa, hoping Liverpool will provide him with more opportunities. (only other value I see in pool attack is Ibe in MF if he plays regularly )

Defoe: another coin toss for me between him a Troy Deeney.
Both good fixtures for first stretch of games, Defoe proven in the league, if Deeney hits the ground running though this could change round fast

This is the Aguero plan

Out: Silva and Rooney
In: Aguero and Depay (or Mata)

Think I'm short money for that
So then i could do
Out: Mane and Benteke
In: Ibe and Pelle or J Rodriguez

If I have to do this over 2 GW's it'll be -8 hit, not too bothered if I'm forced into this or even -12 in one week.

But does anyone think I should start off with;
Aguero, Mata (or Depay), Ibe (or a 5mill starter)
over
Rooney, Silva, Mane.

Then no hit and transfer Benteke for Pelle/J Rodriguez as my first transfer

Not ideal starting off and lining up a hit so early on but being Aguero-less would be tough if he starts rising fast

I do see the Ritchie appeal but I'd give him time and see how he gets on before putting 6.0 into a MF jumping up divisions.

Solid enough team. I tried getting both Walcott and Silva in alongside Hazard in my midfield, but eventually had to settle on Ozil and Sterling.

I'm a big believer in having a balanced squad from the start. Try to get 14 or 15 starters right from the beginning. This means less transfers required to get rid of non-starters a week or two down the line. The flip-side to this argument is that premium players would have to be downgraded in order to free up the funds for drafting in players guaranteed gametime (like my Silva-Sterling, Ozil-Walcott conundrum.

I can't really find fault with any of your reasoning for who you chose. What I will say is that after GW1 if 1 or 2 of your starters don't play, then you might struggle to field 11 if your 4.0 subs don't feature either.

Be cautious with points hits too. By all means don't be afraid of them if you think it will improve your team and points-scoring potential. Just make sure you have it reasoned out in your own head why you think the points hit is necessary.

Hope that makes some bit of sense. Now my brain is frazzled. Time to get some kip before last minute panic sets in :pac:.

No chance. I'm guessing you didn't transfer out Giroud for him last year the week Giroud was benched and lineups were out before the deadline.

Any thoughts?
Hazard and Wally have me concerned however Ozil has been in great form maybe Mane to Wally?

I did indeed, best move I made all year, I didn't even transfer him out as he was plummeting. Still had him for the upcoming DGW, transferred in Benteke whch I wouldn't have done if I had Giroud, captained Benteke and the rest is history:p

Proven premier league goalscorer, don't be so sure he won't be value at 5.5, he's got a very nice start to the year.
