That's where I'm looking, done deal prices aren't realistic though from what I have seen

    You have to haggle!

If I wanted to get 100e for something on DoneDeal or Adverts I'd put it up for 150 or 160e. As even then I'd get offers of 80 or 90.

I'd expect to haggle, but the starting prices are ridiculous around here, adverts seem more realistic

    Adverts is ridiculous though.

People offering things for decent prices but getting lowballed all the time.

Seller: "Brand new barely used item. Was 500 quid new a month ago, selling for 400"

    Buyer: "50 quid offered"

You get alot of messages on DoneDeal that are ridiculous too it's just only the seller sees them.

So the wife in her infinite wisdom decided she would try to explain a few minor facts of life to my eldest who was asking a couple of loaded questions.

"And how does the baby get into your stomach?"

"Well the daddy gives the mammy a seed"

"And does the mammy swallow it?"

Me..."not if she lives in this house"

She's not talking to me now...

    Tragic case :(

One of those ****e days, came into work in one of the places I'm in regularly today to find out that a person who worked there also as a contractor killed themselves over the weekend :(

    Everyone in shock

Sorry to hear it. And to you Zzippy. Never know what to say in these scenarios - ultimately there is nothing to say so thinking of you both.

    Bartering is good fun, though!

Within reason...adverts can be ridiculous. I bought a drill a few years ago on it. The new price would have been about €400. He wanted €150..well worth it in my opinion. First offers ranged from €35 to swaps for broken mountain bikes and phones that were worth about a tenner!!. I gave him the asking price and we were both happy with the deal.

Bartering on it can be fun if both parties are in the ballpark for figures. Other than that it can be soul destroying!!

Ah not really, ye just ignore all the stupid offers. Eventually someone will come along who wants what you have.

Tragic indeed, but why was a 7 year old lad allowed play, alone, 2 miles from home???

Sorry to hear about the person and the suicide. It's a horrible epidemic in Ireland at the minute.

Tom Brady's appeal dismissed. Oh boy ****'s gonna fly.

I find it very odd how much power in the NFL is vested in one person. Goodell is the sole arbiter of discipline and heard the appeal (which makes no sense). It's headed to the courts - not for the first time.

I really think there's a considerably large team of lawyers deciding these things. I think it suits the NFL to paint him as being the sole arbiter because a) they can sell articles based on the whole pantomime and b) they can quickly erase and reset their reputation by changing commissioner. I just find it hard to believe that one man really holds that mucb power over a billion dollar industry. But I suppose it's America!

Hmmm, I now have a dilemma over whether to draft Gronk early or not.

Who am I kidding? I'll still beat Podge.

When are we doing the Draft folks?

Gonna take the league more seriously this season, had too many on the go last year.

Podge is league owner so I guess he calls it! Whenever we have the most people available, is preferable.

  • Administrators Posts: 55,122 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Just let me know when it is.

NFL is rubbish though, but the draft is fun.

The NFL is rubbish but it ropes me in every year. Every year I follow the Bucs closely through training camp and preseason. Then into the regular season. Then watch as they always spectacularly achieve the unspectacular. It's the NFL equivalent of supporting Zebre.
