Ah yeah, obvious example of similarly wankerish behaviour. But it's not tolerated in rugby and he was widely criticised for it. He has spoken about it and been a pretty model professional in the years since.

In GAA it's become an accepted part of the game. Hurling is brutal for someone winning a free and celebrating, including shouting in someone's face.

The Kerry lad goading the defender after scoring the goal was completely unnecessary but worse again was the Cork player launching himself to the deck, clutching his face when his marker bumped him in the chest as he ran past.

From the opening game of the Championship I watched (Donegal vs Tyrone) to last night, nearly every game I've seen has had some element of that rubbish. It's rarely mentioned unless it's completely over the top as it appears to be simply considered part and parcel of the game which is disappointing.

Totally agree, but unless there is a video referee to give frees against such behaviour during the match, or players get reprimanded after matches with match bans, then how will it ever change.

Thought the ref had a good game myself. He didn't fall for any of that embarrassing dive crap either. He consulted with his linemen for that and other situations and generally came to the right decisions.

But as long as gaa is a man v man (as oppossed to attack v defense in soccer rugby etc) game there will be sledging and banter and thus after frees and scores there will be goading etc. Its tasteless but short of mic'ing up the players I don't know what you can do.

Nice training session for Mayo today.

Was always going to be a Mayo win but I was hoping for a bit of a game. This is silly.

At least the Ulster final was a cracking finish with some wonderful points traded.

If Mayo actually got their heads right, they've a really good chance of doing it this year. I haven't been hugely impressed by anyone (it's near impossible to gauge how good Dublin are in the cakewalk Leinster championship).

Cracking day of golf in the Open today.

Amateur Paul Dunne and Harrington are leading along with about four others on -10 at the moment.

Glad I decided to watch it rather than go shopping.

    Will have to tape tomorrow

And another birdie. Dunne now outright leader. Crazy stuff. I recall when Rose was in contention back in the day (going on 20 years ago now, somehow) and that was the highest amateur finish in decades.

A lot of golf to play yet but hopefully he keeps his composure.

I'll say it again, one of the provinces should offer Aidan O'Shea a contract.

I'm probably going against the grain here (what's new!?) but I really liked last nights episode of TD again.....

I am enjoying it more now, especially now that the characters are being fleshed out and seem all the more vulnerable.

Still doesn't have a patch on the first season for me though.

    MK808B+ is < €25 delivered.
However, the site I've gotten several from is currently banned from being discussed on boards.ie.
You can also install openelec on the stick if you wish.

Bought one of these back when you mentioned it. Arrived yesterday and set it up with Genesis . Unbelievable piece of kit for the price.

Haven't seen episode 5 yet but I'm rather enjoying this season of TD- it's totally different to Season 1 but is enjoyable in its own right. Shall watch episode 5 after work

Episode 7 of Hannibal was absolutely amazing, back to Season 2 levels and
The Red Dragon arc is about to begin

I find myself wishing it would just end at this stage. Maybe I shoul try watching it earlier in the day but it's a real struggle to get through. I thought season 1 was pretty good but way over-rated.

    Banned.

Nah, I get that, it's a bit of a Marmite thing. Personally I thought it was a masterpiece.

Funnily enough I've never found Genesis much good, even though people here rave about it. There are a couple of other ones that I use that I've found so much better.

    Do you like Phil Collins?

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work.

    Agreed.

Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence become more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece.

Good grief. No. Just no. The early albums are masterpieces of early 70's progressive rock. When Peter Gabriel left the rot began. The loss of Steve Hackett was the final nail in the coffin. From Rock to Poppy crap.

From works that ran to over 20 minutes, often in segments, each more difficult than the last. Challenging the listener with its unusual time signatures. Music that needed to be listened to. To be explored. To be felt. A mixtures of jazz, rock folk and classic all blended into a heady brew. Music written for the connoisseur.

To 4 minute ditty's written on the back of an envelope that children can sing along to.

    An awfully sad tale.

I'm still on the look out for a bike. Had a purchase fall thru a few weeks ago, but no biggie.
Had 500 set aside, but this weekend past I had my esb bill, invite to a wedding and a 30th bday party and my daughter wanted bunk beds....I'm now in minus figures :)
Then yesterday, my bro in law said he'd give me his Giant Defy 3 free! Happy days....until i remembered the fcker is 6'4 and I'd be like a shaggin Oompah Loompah on his bike.

Don't really think so, I'd be comfortable on a 54cm frame he's a 60cm literally a matter of inches, but over any distance its going to tell

On a completely different note, I see Steve Guerdat has been suspended as 2 of his horses have failed doping tests.
He won gold at the 2012 Olympics, and perhaps Cian O'Connor has a chance of being promoted to silver medal if Guerdat gets a stiff penalty and ban

Would they be retrospective bans though?
