    What's Andy famous for???

He scored against Chelsea in the Bradford FA Cup win
How are you guys feeling for the season ahead?

Your squad looks a bite bare. http://rangers.co.uk/teams/first-team

Their manager was on Sky saying he wanted a small squad to keep the players hungry, that could well be a nice bit of spin though.

Looks like another two joining today. I reckon another two or so will join. How do I feel about the season ahead well I like Warburtons attitude I am also happy with the changes he has brought in at Auchenhowie. The players are an unknown quantity but I have s good feeling so hopefully the players gel quickly

Martyn Waghorn at 25 years of age has scored a massive 35 goals in his 8 seasons so far as a pro.

A remarkable return of just under 4.5 goals per season.

Yes Bobby I can read reviews as well. To be honest until he flops at us I will give him my support I also believe that trust has to be put in the manager by us Rangers fans. I expect no less of you to think the worst though 😉

I didn't give any opinion on the player I just stated facts on him!

I hope he does great for you guys and gets a full 5 goals next season.

    Fingers crossed.

Your squad seems a lot weaker than last year. Do you agree?

No not at all we had very highly paid mercenaries last year who were an embarrassment. Most of them have been cleared out though there are a couple more who have a lot to do so the fans appreciate them again. Warburton has bought in younger players who are hungry and some who have a point to prove. He has also changed the regime at Auchenhowie and brought in a code of conduct. All this I believe will work for us of course we will have a couple of flops in his signings but I hope most are successful. We will find out over the next few weeks if I am right :P

Your squad looks threadbare though. If your manager is any use you should have easily enough to win promotion though.

Rangers have a much better chance this year, not least because Hearts aren't there. If they don't win the division this season they should seriously consider an actual voluntary liquidation this time!

You can't seriously be getting cranky with me for praising the quality of your squad? The touchiness of you lot knows no bounds it seems.

What's going on here? The multi millionaire and financial saviour of the Gers is now saying they can only compete if the fans spend their money? You Bears are surely not going to fall for this, are you?

No that is not what he said at all. But of course you will believe the Record when it suits. He merely pointed out that the present deal with SD means no one wi x as the fans are not buying the merchandise because of it and the Rangers fans have always invested heavily through buying it. Simple

"If we can’t get the supporters back to outspending the Celtic supporters and I put that simply, we will be the second biggest club in Scotland

He wasnt saying any of this when he was looking to take control of the club.

How is it much difference to what was said and done before. Fans have to be milked is now what he is saying instead of talking about the investment he's going follow though on, or not as its looking more likely.

What he's saying is that as long as Rangers don't get anything from the retail deal they will never grow as big or bigger than Celtic. Rangers fans have always spent massive amounts on replica shirts etc. so for that income to pretty much dry up will have a big impact on the club.

Which makes sense, but of course you like to spin it another way :)

He's looking to make deals so that he doesnt have to put in as much money himself. That is a simple economic fact and he's gradually shifting the burden back onto the fans. He's right in what he is saying but he's saying that he needs the club to get back a revenue stream so fans can be milked for maximum profitability. You do understand the fans role in this statement??

Grin away to yourself though, its only spin...

It's very clear Ashley has them by the balls, he's trying the softly approach because he has seen now how tightly Ashley made his deal.

I think Ashley will put stubbornness ahead of profit for a while as he knows he can make it all back by playing the long game.

Wait till they get even more desperate and strike another deal

You guys are trading as insolvent the last few years lurching from emergency loan to emergency loan. How the hell are you able to afford ANY transfer fees?

Yeah, I heard all about the 'away game protocol'

    How so ?

It's a long term deal but if nobody buys merchandise then what is he getting out of it ? SD probably get a few hundred thousand pound every year out of it (at best), I doubt that's really what he might see as a good deal.

King asked for some cash and we had a whip-round in the pub.

If Ashley did a deal tomorrow to increase Rangers cut in return for the club pushing its fans to buy merchandise it would be for a better % than it is now.

If he holds and deals later he'll give a smaller % and still get the club to push fans to buy.

Either way I think Ashley will make you beg before he budges
