    Very sad

Best I can do? I didn't write the article son. And I don't know why you're being so defensive, I'm not having a pop at Rangers I'm laughing at the Scottish media. The same media who misled all your fans and are out to get you. Are we not on the same side here?

Sorry I have not read the article as I am rather busy if you are correct in what you are saying I take it all back and apologise. I will say though that your record on here generally having a dig so once again I give my apology

Warburton was a trader at Bank of America, AIG and RBS, those amounts are probably not that far off from the truth.

The amount of money traded daily in banks or companies of those sizes is absolutely insane.

So he was a professional gambler? He will fit right in at Rangers!

Really. Who care other than people with nothing better to do. Or is it the fact he was successful that pisses you off :P

    Only if he loses money!

Looks as though we have had a bid accepted by Wigan foe Rob Kiernan 24 year old CD
Been on loan at Birmingham and they were in for him but pulled out not happy with his medical. Wonder whats changed since he went on loan in January.

    Bit here about him

Don't know too much about him, apart from that apparently Roberto Martinez had a lot of positives to say about him.

If this is the type of player we'll be going for (a young English Championship level player with a possible sell on value) then I'd be more than happy.

Yeah that's what I'd do too if I had "unlimited funds" ... Buy a player that another club already baulked at due to his medical record.

He was with them on loan from January so it is possible the just decided to pull out. Also John Hartson failed s medical at us it didn't do his career any harm. Also even if there is unlimited funds does that mean we just go out and spend for the sake of it. If the club did I am sure you would be in making wee digs about that.
So if this boy does us a turn that's all that matters

    Sigh.
I for one am happy to see us build a fairly young squad of players with a decent pedigree.
We are, after all, a championship side.
No one is suggesting that there's no risk, but I think the signals are pretty clear from Warburton as to the type of player he wants.

I wonder what the reaction would be if we were splashing out on players 'out with our means'?

The reaction has been noted years before Rangers was liquidated and noted for the past 3 years since the inception of the new company. Can you articulate the last time you supported a club that didnt live beyond its means?

    Yer not making sense Honeybunch.
Did Savage Tyrant point to 'unlimited funds' and suggest that this possible signing may be underwhelming because of that, or not?

Not underwhelming ... I'm not saying that yous should or would go out signing EPL standard stars or even journeymen, but with the term "unlimited funds" coming from within your club, then id be questioning why buy a player that another club saw fit to walk away from.
But, your point re: Hartson is valid so i do stand to be corrected... And btw, when we signed him, I also thought it was bad business... And was proved wrong.

Kiernan claims there was no failed medical and that he pulled out out of the deal with Birmingham.
KIERNAN will be unveiled at Mark Warburton's first signing for Gers later today but is fuming at claims from Brum.

ROB KIERNAN pulled the plug on a move to Birmingham City at the 11th hour to pave the way for a reunion with mentor Mark Warburton at Rangers .

Wigan defender Kiernan is set to become Warburton’s first signing today after travelling to Glasgow last night to begin thrashing out the terms of his contract.

But the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain has been angered by claims in the Midlands that his proposed move to St Andrews collapsed because of concerns which were flagged up by doctors during his medical.

Instead, the player’s camp are adamant it was the 24-year-old who backed out of the deal after learning that Warburton, his former youth coach at Watford, wanted to take him to Ibrox.

One source close to the deal said: “Birmingham are obviously trying to cover their back here.

“But the truth is it was Rob who pulled the plug on the move, not the other way around.

“Once he knew that Warburton had got the Rangers job his mind was made up.”

All the latest news from Ibrox

Record Sport understands Warburton wants Kiernan and former Hearts skipper Danny Wilson to form the defensive heart of a new look starting X1 and hopes to have both players tied up before the end of
    this week.

Kiernan spent the last half of last season on loan at Birmingham.

He played 12 games and had been expected to complete a more permanent move this week after agreeing a two-year contract.

But Kiernan has opted instead to sign up for Warburton’s revolution after spending most of
his career bouncing around clubs in England’s lower leagues.

He grew up playing under Warburton for Watford’s development squad and the pair joined forces briefly again in 2012 when Kiernan joined Brentford on loan for two months in League One.

He also played four games in Scotland’s top flight during a loan stint at Kilmarnock in 2010.

He made his debut for the Ayrshire men in a 1-0 Rugby Park win over Celtic on the night Robbie Keane pulled on the hoops for the first time.

Danny Wilson has signed today and Rob Kiernan seems very close to sign as well.

    Free transfer to Wilson too.

Danny Wilson should prove to be a good bit of business for your lot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

We hope so, he's reportedly on a quite a wage but for a free transfer and his potential I think it's a good piece of business.

24 years of age, 87 pro games, you're his 12th club. That's a lot of clubs and very few games.

Time will tell he will be pulling in a Rangers jumper he gets my support until I see s reason to withdraw it 😉

Not so far, there's talks with several other players.

I heard Eustace had a productive talk with the club and then went back to England, probably to think it over and maybe because other clubs might be interested too.
