That makes sense. Do you reckon you could sell out Croker, even if it was an average lineup? I can imagine the demand would be there but at 'typical' NFL prices I don't think you would get many newcomers.

Don't really think the lineup would make much difference. As long as they weren't playing some completely irrelevant team like, say, the Buccaneers then people would go. You'd both be more likely to fill Aviva and it would have a better atmosphere. NFL pitches look ridiculous in Croker.

Anyway, not going to happen anytime soon I don't think. They're really pushing the London thing and I think all their efforts are going to go there.

I've no idea how feasible it would be but it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world for World Rugby/RFU to try and partner up with the NFL somehow if a franchise in London came to pass. Not sure off the top of my head exactly how it would work but there would definitely be an opportunity for some kind of inroads to be made in America that way.

    That's a big no methinks!

On a different note, remind me not to pick the Giants Jason Pierre-Paul or Tampa's CJ Wilson in the fantasy NFL

We'll CJ Wilson wouldn't be in most fantasy leagues. Hes also never going to be a professional, unfortunately for him.

It amazes me how careless Americans are with fireworks. They're explosives ffs, not toys.

You wouldn't want to visit Ireland hospitals around Halloween... the orthopedic and plastic surgeons are run off their feet trying to save the hands of stupid children who've held bangers/other fireworks for a dare...not to mention the amount of serious burns that have to be dealt with

Pretty much, RB. Can't argue with that!

I suspect Podge is referring to the fully grown man who tried to launch a firework off his head on the 4th, though, which takes things to another level of stupidity. Of course, he died instantly because that's what happens when you ignite an explosive on your head.

I was actually referring to Jason Pierre-Paul and CJ Wilson as referenced above. They've both lost fingers from fireworks. Wilson's career is likely over and considering JPP was holding out for a new contract particularly stupid by him.

Though I also read about that prime Darwin Aware candidate alright. I genuinely do not understand that level of gross stupidity.

It's not as if they aren't warnings about it around Halloween.

Seriously? That's precisely what the Darwin awards are for. Acknowledging the contribution to humanity of people like this guy for removing himself from the gene pool...

    Damn consumerist culture.

To be honest reading that article makes me think that maybe I am actually a hipster. I think I might be far more likely to agree with the kind of contrary statements being attributed to, eh, me....

yeah theres no real value in that game.
possibly both teams to score a goal @ 11/8 but im not going near it myself

a 15 point spread in a leinster final is mad, ted.

I expect Westmeath to go ultra defensive on Sunday, won't be surprised to see 14 men behind the ball. They did it in a recent challenge game vs Mayo so probably see that as their only chance. With that in mind, it might be less high-scoring than people expect but the Dubs will win handy enough.

I've been queuing up work all week to organise it to happen overnight on Saturday night. Means I'll be wide awake for this fight and also makes me seem really generous ("Are you sure you don't want this done out of hours? I'll do it at midnight on Saturday for you").

So far so good for Ro-jeer. He is annihilating Murrays 2nd serve.

Well that was impressive. Swatted Murray aside like a pesky fly. Should be a good final 1st vs 2nd seed.
