    It's a golf joke...no cnut gets it

A Mulligan is a do-over, the Americans take the shot again and go on down the fairway to finish the hole, the Irish say feck it and just sign for a 3?

Also, I get what a Mulligan is and I understand the concept of calling it a 3...though I don't get why you'd do that and I don't get the joke.

    But I don't play golf.

Dublin to Malaga still 103 people are saying, wonder if that is because of site issues , or Ryanair being sneaky fckers

A bit of understated dry humour - it's a cultural joke. The hopeful positive American meets the down to earth Irishman who cuts him off at the legs.

Jokes are never funny when you have to explain them though. Mind you I think that there's a bit of room to develop it using a tree lined fairway and the way that we pronounce 'three' in Ireland.

If you lose your tee shot you incur a two shot penalty, so you'd be hitting your third shot then from the tee.

Looks like the NFL London games are moving from Wembley to Tottenham

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 29,818 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

The state-of-the-art stadium, due to open in the summer of 2018, will feature a retractable grass field with an artificial surface underneath that would be used for NFL games. This innovative field will add greater flexibility in the scheduling of games, with the NFL having its own playing surface for games held at this venue. This field will be multi-use and capable of hosting other sporting, entertainment and community events.

Obvious precursor to a full NFL team in London. Wembley would probably have scheduling problems.

If there is a London based franchise, could we see a game in Dublin I wonder?

Supposedly Chelsea are going to be in Wembley while they redevelop.

Not any time soon I imagine. Last thing they'd want to do is spread the games around while trying to establish themselves.

That makes sense. Do you reckon you could sell out Croker, even if it was an average lineup? I can imagine the demand would be there but at 'typical' NFL prices I don't think you would get many newcomers.
