Low, but there was bad mist around 8.15 when I was coming in, its clearing nicely now and the sun is trying to burn through. Was fairly bad alright when I was leaving at 5ish yesterday, the missus works at a car rental desk inside the terminal and they sent extra cars to SNN last night as they expected the worse.

I doubt that UK ATC could have ordered it to land somewhere, even as all liens are more thasn likely with Air Moldova and/or Air Méditerranée and/or Hermes.

    Legal nightmare!

There's a Zimbabwean cargo outfit ( name eludes me at the moment ) with a pair of MD-11Fs that are constantly being 'sold' to 'new' companies, re-registered and then leased-back to dodge the huge landing-fee tabs they've run-up around the World.

I last saw one of them departing Prestwick about a year ago.

Edit: formerly Avient, then AV Cargo, possibly another name by now.

Etihad have a 773 on the way to dublin, landing at 5.15, delayed by a few hours, my brother is flying on this one tonight at 8pm and we were wondering what happens with the crew situation?

As in every other flight has been a A332 so far for the past two weeks and it looks as if it went tech today and they switched to a 773 possibly? Will they fly the return crew over in it and have them fly it back tonight at 8.15?

Or maybe this has been scheduled for today all along? just seems to be more than a coincidence that it was delayed by three hours and a completely different plane than usual is doing the route?

Most likely scenario is that they will augment or double the crew and they will operate a return service.

Seems a shame they don't use RYR737 as the crew-training callsign.

Though I suppose it could be confusing having a dozen flights respond to the call "Ryanair 737..."

FR24 tweeted the above link, a 747 that went through a hail storm en route to Korea. Nasty bit of damage.

The Kalitta 747-200 is due out of SNN this morning at 0800 heading for Amsterdam so if its clear on the east coast again today should be a good view of it.

Atlas 747-400 due in SNN around 2pm today aswell.

Aeromexico 787 departing Shannon at 05:30, heading home

I would think they could request a routing avoiding the UK.

I think ICAO rules apply, ATC is (like the EU thing on the Internet) a " neutral" service, so, owing money to one ATC service would not block access to their airspace. It could only be applied to all ATC services or none. I have family who work at Eurocontrol, they decide on routing over a large part of central Europe, decisions based on destination and traffic levels.

What, every 787 from Mexico calling-in nowadays?!

New slogan for Shannon: Se habla español.
