If it was the Captains, i expect the poor guy will be roasted for his fuel use.
The fog is listed as a TEMPO, so that basically means that it will within a certain period, in this case 1800 - 0900, but it wont last more than 1 hour at each time and it wont last more than 50% of the total time period.

Flanzer. Cork weather forecast is OK for tomorrow.

Fog has not lifted since 17:30, been 100-700m since.

    Requesting another approach.
    RVR is 300m.

FR90 on second approach. RVR is now a firm 300m.

EI845 asking for an approach, and they say in the event of a go-around they will go directly to Shannon.

    That's very interesting!

Am I right in saying this was the KLM DC-7 crash that the first thing that was known about it was a member of the aircrew or a passenger arriving into the duty office covered in mud to notify them where the aircraft had gone down?

EI845 going around, diverting to Shannon, FR1401 will make an approach.

It was a KLM Super Connie. According to the below, the FO managed to raise the alarm 2 and a half hours after the accident by swimming to the airport  That explains the lifeboats indeed.

Shamrock 856 outbound from Shannon to Alicante, anyone know why it's so late?

Fog earlier.. Inbound aircraft EI-CVB (EI846/EIN84R) diverted to SNN. Pax and crew positioned to Shannon to operate with delay. Looks like it'll be after 5am in the morning.

Has anyone spotted Air Moldova flight 9U831/MLD831 from Chisinau into Dublin? Operated by Greece's Hermes Airlines (B733 SX-BDW). It has completely avoided UK airspace taking an interesting route, would this have something to do with the current situation in Greece?

That would make for an interesting PA! You'd have to ask why the IAA think they'd pay them.

If they don't pay the IAA, I doubt this change of aircraft will last long.

Think if a flight goes part the departure time and is not updated by a certain time it goes like that.

Fog at 200m also forecast at NOC for the next 22 hours. (Not a TEMPO)

What's interesting here is the SSE wind, which means planes will not only have to land in fog, In order to get ILS they will have to land with a slight tailwind too.

Air Moldova currently taxiing to the runway.

    Went straight over the UK.

Hemes is owned by the French outfit Air Méditerranée and they tend to swap aircraft in and out between them according to availability.

Might just have been a quirk of ATC routing, or indeed the crew saving a few Euros by avoiding an unnecessary UK overflight. Outbound I assume they're at the whim of the standard Dublin departure pattern.

Both Cork and Knock have forecasts that include TEMPO and BECMG.... So they won't be foggy all day as was implied above.

As a result of the diverted flight AMS-ORK to Shannon last night, EI882 (ORK-AGP) is operating from Shannon today.
