Speaking of last night after the referendum. Dublin City was mad, there was real party/festival aura to the whole place.

Leitrim. The rural part of rural Ireland.

    Were you in Carrick Buer?

I was indeed. Stag/hen capital of Ireland, it seems! For a small town, there must have been 7 or 8 stag/hen parties on the go.

Often stop there on the way to Mayo but never actually stayed there, grand town.

Wall to wall Hen parties. My youngest Son worked in the nightclub at the Landmark Hotel at a weekend whilst putting himself through NUIG. Some of the storys;)Lucky lucky bast&%"!.:D

How did your "Tá" button go down?

How did the referendum work in Irish? "Tá" on its own doesn't really mean anything (is?).

edit: think I found the answer on good old boards.

Bit of a bolt from the blue. Knew he was getting on but didn't realise he was 76. Didn't look it.

A lot of childhood memories watching that panel midweek after school. I also didn't realise he was well into his 70s.

Bloody hell. Totally concur with Buer there. Both surprised at the news and the fact he was 76. RIP.

Ah you can't really judge from how they look on tv, what with the make up and the lighting.

At least it was quick for him, he was at the IFTA awards last night. Some comfort in that.

I think it's been a bit slow. It's been 7 episodes of bubbling along. It would be nice for something to actually happen. That said it ended really well tonight.

Ah lots has been happening though, it just all seems to be quite emergent rather than anything too dramatic. Would have liked if they got a bit more out of the fighting pits.

Yeah a lot has happened but it's all been filler almost. Building up to something else. I'm sure there'll be an episode where it all comes together and blows me away, but I just feel it's been paced badly. A lot of the conflict, physical and political, has been lacking. We haven't seen the witty and cutting back and forths from previous seasons or any of the tension that goes with it. And then we're teased with things nearly happening, but not. Or there's storylines that don't seem to be going anywhere and so have little tension at all to them.
    Spoiler
Stanis' march on Winterfell for example is pretty toothless in that regard.

Maybe the fact that they have moved a bit away from the books and/or ahead of them means the lack of source material is hurting them?

Most people believe that the 4th & 5th books are a lot, lot slower than the first 3 and I think the 5th season suffers from that as much as anything.

Things do happen but the pacing is worse, and it seems a lot more padded; I thought the show would condense it a lot and maybe change up a few things to make it a bit more dramatic.

I have a fairly daft question - I live right smack in the middle of the mini marathon route which is in Monday, what's the story with local access? Assume cars can't get in and out?

Waiting until I'm back in the office in a couple of weeks to order protein, so decided to pick up a Power Bar shake from the gym reception. 4.50 a go! Madness ted!

Is that not the usual price?

Yeah it is, it's gone up slightly in the last year but most of their protein flavours are €70ish for 5kg
