Do remember her role is not simply Diversity Office but Welfare & Diversity Officer yet she is not concerned with the welfare of the non-diverse students. My personal favourite is when she used the official students union twitter account to call a student white trash.

It's not racist though, it was simply unprofessional.

How did she get the post in the first place? Why is she still in said post? This kind of daftness is extremely common on US campuses with the full support of the faculty. Seems to be spreading.

I'd like to see evidence of her...ah...leanings....being known prior to her being awarded the post before going down that road. Has evidence of that become public already? If they have, fair enough, I haven't looked closely.

I'd rather look at how the university, and the students' union deals with it from now on.

wibbs is dead right , this nonsense with it's bull**** terms and feverish drive to dig out an insult buried in the most innocuous of things damages diversity.

It turns me as a male (not really white though) off the whole liberal diversity concept completely - which is wrong I know but I'd rather ignore these idiots than see if there is any merit to the concept at all.

That's as extreme as her own argument. She is (ironically) a minority Wibbs.
She got the post by flying under the radar.

That was six months ago and yet she's still in the post. Would a white bloke in a similar post be still there is he fired out a racist tweet at a black student. Would he hell and rightfully.

It is BS and it has nothing to do with multiculturalism. Quite the opposite in fact. She wants to piss you off as a male. Don't be baited. Your reaction feeds her cause. Student officers are elected by the student body by the way . The actual university can't hire her.

When I was in Uni the actual people who voted could be counted on one hand and I can't for the life of me remember who held office. You didn't pay attention.

I don't buy that. If people want equality then a reasoned argument needs to be made except she has a legitimate role as diversity officer and hasn't been removed or run out of town for her comments. To which i can only assume that she has support and the approval (at least tacit) of the college.
I can't accept that she is unique though - I am friend on facebook with some other activities friends family types...not my actual friends and they are full of the same type of stuff albeit not quite as full one.
Always seeking out an insult or example of privilege/patriarchy/rape culture etc...and using leaving me bewildered as hell how they implied that from something somebody said.

I believe in real equality but not this bull****.
This stuff turns me off the message completely

A majority is a subset of a set consisting of more than half of that set's elements. There is no majority ethnic group in London. Technically, anyone resident there can call themselves a minority. White Brits are a plurality.

Racism is racism ... You can't redefine it.

What she's suggesting there is that white males are all the same ... That's racism and sexism.

Two wrongs don't make a right. All she's doing is reinforcing divisions and basically attempting to seek some sort of revenge against a group of people based on their gender and skin colour.

With an attitude like that she shouldn't be in that job.

You'll also fail to bring people on board by excluding a huge % of very, nice, normal individuals who would otherwise be amongst your greatest supporters.

Effectively accusing every white male of being a racist or sexist is utterly ridiculous and entirely counterproductive too!

To look at our marriage equality campaign for example - many of those who are amongst the most passionate LGBT rights campaigners are straight and their involvement is very much appreciated and welcome.

Racism, sexism, homophobia etc are all best tackled by bringing people on board, not pushing them away and creating cliques.
