Some new and interesting noises on startup, hmm.

Im not sure what the noise is - but I didnt actually realise how good your car looked! Love the colour of the alloys and the reg aint too bad either where it is :)

Are you going for the focus you were looking at or going to look elsewhere ? Sounded like a clean car although Id be weary enough of that 1.6 if there is very very high mileage on as you said I suppose it depends what you consider high.

Bah, the link to video was broken for some reasons and worked only on phones. Fixed now!!!

Has he a LSD in that Mx5? When he fell was it heading for the water after he jumped out of car. Also he took a chance at the end drifting lightly towards your car, what would you do if he lost traction and drove straight into your car.

It also looks fun, I will have to look for a beach in the west that you can drive on, knowing my luck I would get stuck, I seen a car or two over the years being stuck on beaches.

You'd hardly get many people who stop to get fuel and there battery is dead would you ?

You'd be surprised, happens a lot! Sometimes batteries are weak and they leave their lights on while paying and it dies or sometimes cars are towed in needing a jump. Luckily I've never used them on my own car yet :P

We have one of those halfords battery packs for jump starting and it is very good but they cost a fair bit more than a set of jump leads would cost.

I have a set of the heavy duty Halfords leads, would start almost anything, has been a profitable investment :pac:

Spent the evening working on my car and am well pissed off, still won't start; looks like a fuel pump issue.

Think i'm gonna get it towed in the morning. What's the deal with breakdown assist, my policy states I have to be more than 2km from my address but it's sitting on my drive. How strict are they on that kind of thing?

I find faith likes to mess with people like this, when your so close to something things seem to go wrong, like for example just before an NCT is when you car decides to blow a bulb.

I don't know about that. But it's certainly an unlucky thing to happen. There's a Clifford alarm on it too to make it more awkward not sure how that works with new keys from renault hopefully it was them that fit the system I think it was.

The guy in the garage says it happens so rarely to them he said it's such an embarrassing thing to happen but it's happened and thats the way it is. They are hopeing to find them by this evening but it's a very very big garage with a serious amount of cars and keys.

Would they not just buy a new one?

That's an awful kick in the teeth after waiting all week to get it. Lets hope they find them.

Lads should lay off the negative comments too, even if in jest. He's decided on a car, and is happy with it so no need to be putting negative thoughts in his mind and just let him enjoy it.

Because they take 5 days to get so obviously they want to be sure they are definitely lost before ordering new ones which are no doubt 150 plus euro each. I think they only lost them yesterday.

Didn't think it'd take that long, especially for newer cars, would've expected them to be in stock in Dealers. They must be there somewhere anyway, unless someone accidentally took them home or something.

I reckon they need to review their CCTV - account hacking, keys missing - you haven't noticed any clothes missing off the washing line have you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,066 ✭✭✭✭Big Nasty

Did you ask them where was the last place they had them? :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,031 ✭✭✭Bpmull

Yay the guy that lost them is after breaking his hand and is in hospital but he's convinced he put them in the key box although they have a few key boxes.

Ordered a key for the e60 at the time from bmw on a Saturday at 12pm and collected it around 11 on the Monday.
It had come from the uk too.
They should manage quicker than that!

Bought a high mileage alfa :) Nct'd and driving pretty good. Needs the timing belt, variator and wp done. Belt was done 60k miles 7 years ago. Only due on time. Gonna have a look and see what its like today before swaping insurance over from the nissan.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,031 ✭✭✭Bpmull

The keys have to come from renault I think they were probably saying 5 days as a worst case scenario.

What kind of Alfa if you don't mind me asking?

I have a fair few bits for them lying around if you need stuff. Also have a smashing leather interior that I'd probably move on, it's for a 156 though.

    Good luck with it man!

I still have to make up my mind - the garage-man gave me a call yesterday and I asked him would he mind keeping it out the back of the garage until mid next week and that was no problem.

Im going to Limerick and on to Kildare tomorrow, and then back to Limerick again on sunday so I might see something that might change my mind :)
