Can anyone explain how hurling league format works for nat league champion ? I see limk as short as 6-1 , thought they were gone after last Sat night

Top 4 in 1A and 1B qualify for quarter finals

    1st 1A v 4th 1B and so on

Limerick almost certain to finish 3rd in 1B so will likely face cork or Tipp in a quarter final.

After Sat night Limerick are out of the promtion race which sees only the table topping team in 1B get promoted.

Clare gone into 8/15 and Kilkenny are now 15/8 with PP. Clare are still available at 10/11 with 365, Boyles and a few more.

Hogan out for Kilkenny, on paper the weakest team I've ever seen them name. Looks good to me.

Price in free fall for Clare , just took 8-15 with sky , Kelly and dave mc in great form and top of ground team , get on

It's a case of who is worse tomorrow.

Betfair sportsbook still 5/8 on clare.

Can't be having them at that price now. Around 10/11 was worth a punt but 2/5 in places now is crazy for a county that are all over the shop and a nut job of a manager!

    Pockets burned on Clare.

A penalty is no advantage anymore !

Ye it's not worth a curse to anyone the way it is. 2 missed in Nowlan Park today, another summer of missed penalties ahead of us.

    Hurling Qf predictions

Dubs by 1 in tight buckle
Galway beat deise with canning starring by 4
Tipp eventually see off faithful by 6 after close first half
    Cork overcome Wx by 3

I'm taking Cork and Dublin to beat the handicap. 4/1 on the double.

    Hurling or football?

I'm on over 45.5 total points at 5/6 with 365 in the Dublin and Limerick game later, PP has the line at over 47.5 at 5/6. The open spaces and better pitch in Croke Park does tend to produce a high scoring game. Dublin's 2 games in Croke Park this year have seen the line covered.

Gap between 1A and 1B being shown up here in the dub v limerick game. Galway still available at 11/8 (bet 365) vs Waterford tomorrow...

No good, Cronin missed a goal chance from 6 yards out and Dublin tapped over a penalty but luckily that farcical rule will be gone soon.

Galway not a bad price, but think it'll be a completely different game tomorrow.

If Derry park the bus again tomorrow against a Cork side without Hurley and O'Neill 31.5 total points in Boyles might look big, likewise 28.5 for Tyrone v Kerry in Omagh if Tyrone decide to set up like v Mayo and Dublin which you would imagine they will especially after their debacle v Donegal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 393 ✭✭CheltenhamJ

Thought mayo were value to beat Donegal and beat hcap also

At the game; Mayo kicked more bad wides in the second half than the kids at half time did. Killer

V disappointing , had them doubled and they left me down - again !!

Bookies very low with the points totals for Croker tomorrow, only PP up so far. Must be keeping an eye on the forecast.

Fancy Dublin to cover the -7 especially with the Monaghan team being away in Portugal all week. Only concern being the weather. If it's not a washout should win by 10+. Anyone up that way with a weather update?

Stopped raining here already, and wind dropping off. Expected to brighten up by throw-in.

For the first game, will Donegal have much interest in lining up a game against the Dubs for 3 weeks before the Tyrone game?

dublin are evens with bet365 to score the first goals while PP are offering 4/6. Bet365 always worth keeping an eye on. They are a bit clueless.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,350 ✭✭✭Rasputin11

Tipp and Waterford on Sunday, highest scoring half 2nd half at 20/21 with 365. The price is the same for both halves but I'd expect the first half to be tight and tactical as Tipp try to figure out the Waterford system of play. Hurling matches tend to open up more in the second half as teams tire and more space becomes available.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭Mountainlad

22/1 with Boyles no Goalscorer looks a bet. Waterford will be all about stopping goals, and have not been creating many opportunities. Haven't yielded a goal in the last two games.

Undoubtedly, Tipp are by far the best opposition they've faced and their probably will be a goal. But that looks a big price to me, and you just wouldn't know. The last 3 leagues games between the sides, Tipp scored 2 goals last year but they have failed to score goals in the two previous games.

The weather has been good and the ground is hardening which wouldn't aid the bet in my opinion, but all the same I think it might be worth a go.

Did one of the bookies make a mistake on the total points line for Cork and Dublin game yesterday?

Ladbrokes had it as 37.5 alright on Saturday evening and suspended it late that night. I know punters who got on and got paid out.
