Downloaded now and ready to go. I seriously doubt there's any chance of actually playing the online version for the next few days though. Rockstar suck at these things.

Anybody here know how I can move my GTA V Rockstar location. I moved it into a new location and than ran the executable file and it just starts re-downloading in the original location.

Are that many people really gonna buy this compared to the console version.

You under estimate the power of amount of PC gamers out there, especially those who love to mod games to add something to it like they modded Skyrim to have the Dragons look like Macho Man :D

My PC can just barely run it and I would love to get it but I would definately need a new, more powerful than my current, PC to give it any justice.

I would guess nearly 2 million will buy it.

It won't be as bad as the console launch (as that's probably not possible), but i doubt most people will be able to login without issues tonight. I hope i'm wrong, but we'll see.

This'll probably be the game that makes me upgrade some of my hardware :(

Going by past experience with Rockstar and their PC releases, its not gonna be easy!
I would give it 2 weeks before everything is sorted, maybe more.
I dont think they really care about PC gamers :(

Probably a stupid question. I'm on Steam and my SSD is short on space. Is having ~75GB free enough, or do I need the 65GB for download and more for installation?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,784 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I had around 67gb free, and it failed somewhere around 95%. Had to redownload 30gb after i clicked resume, so i just cancelled it and installed it on the regulard drive, just in case.

I only just realised that my PS3 character will transfer over. Pretty sweet, as i already have a nice apartment and some decent cars from the cash bonus Rockstar gave after their ****ty launch. That on top of the pre-order bonus should set me up for a while :)

    Is that on R* site?

Game is 59gb in Depotcache folder in steam, dunno what it will expand to but I removed Mordor so have plenty of space :)

The character transfer? Apparently it happens automatically when you activate the game in your Rockstar social club. My PS3 character shows up, so hopefully everything transfers across (though i didn't have a huge amount, so no bother if it doesn't).

Need a working PC for tomorrow, so gonna hold off wipe and reinstall Windows until maybe Wednesday. From the sounds of it, the wait may not affect it that much, but hope it won't be the fiasco that IV was!

Where can you see your current character? I had it on the xbox 360, hadn't really played it at all, but I defititely did. I'm wondering if I would have got the 500k or whatever they gave away after the bad launch.

When i activated my game on the Rockstar Social Club, it showed my characters progression from what i remember. I can't check now as i'm in work though.

Can anyone tell me how can I transfer it from steam on my laptop to my PC? Reason being, my apartment has 60mb download compared to home which has only 20mb (and my PC). Thanks in advance :)

Open your ....\Program Files (86)\Steam\Steamapps\common and it's probably in there.

Found it, thanks... I never got any bonus when people did ages ago, must have had to log on to get it :(

If it transfers then is the SP stuff completed?

Should be an option to restart.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,784 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I think there was an option to restart the campaign in the original console version, so i'd assume that's there as well.

Anyone actually planning on playing Online tonight? I know it probably won't work, but i'll be on for a few hours if it does. Hopefully it actually lets us in, or at the very least, let's us into the single player game.

So who is brave enough to start the "Who's online PC Edition" thread?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,784 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Ah balls...i changed my Social Club username and now i've lost all my characters progression. I really hope it's just the site needs to update, as i'll be kind of annoyed if i've lost my character.

I'm an idiot. I was looking at the PC progression, rather than the PS3 progression.

    Ooooh baby!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,308 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

^^I seen that on facebook. Pretty cool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,787 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question. I think if I start playing this tonight the chances of turning it off after an hour and going to bed are slim. The chances of me making the sensible decision of waiting until tomorrow after work is probably slimmer.

Just got a notification on my pc about updated Nvidia drivers for GTA V.

Just on time for the game, fair play to them.

Thinking I might try buy a retail copy tomorrow, but the 7 discs is kinda putting me off :D
