Yes folks............that is the official score for yesterdays match on the official GAA website.

These are the same lads looking for new ways to improve gaelic football.............incredible stuff.
Are you saying that because some person made hit a 2 on a keyboard instead of a 1 when inputting a full set of league results that the Gaa is not fit to run gaelic football.
    Incredible stuff indeed............

Is it fair to say that minor team is strong up front but less sure of the backs?

delited to see 3 Rochestown lads starting an on bench as they were late to the party
id prefer to see Chris o leary at CB but they must see his pysicality and strenght as a need in midfield
thatd be my only issue really
happy with rest of team and strong bench to with options

limerick seem to be starting all their aces as inside forwards line but id have fate in our full back line

Laois game seemed a cracker - delited to see Paudie clocking up scores

This should be treated as a championship type test. A good chance to see if this group of player are capable of coming close to Croke park in September. It will be Intresting to see what tactics or formation both teams will use

This should be treated as a championship type test. A good chance to see if this group of player are capable of coming close to Croke park in September. It will be Intresting to see what tactics or formation both teams will use

Donegal have no interest in this game as seen by the the talk of majority of their fans for this game when they have Tyrone coming up in may the last thing they want is play Dublin in have to be intense other wise they will be blown away

Credit due for staying up but this teams is no where near an all Ireland final in realistic assessment tells one significant story
Cork are meant to be defensive yet aside from kerry have actually the worst defensive record in league division with 7-90 conceded bar kerry but kerry don't give monkeys as targeted only three games and when you see monaghan cork mayo beat them yet they beat Dublin and donegal shows they picked and choose and despite this yerra there behind talk from management with cork they like Dublin are miles ahead not even funny be honest
Kerry no intention beating Tyrone and took foot off gas as knew win play cork again there actually flying out algarve soon so they no intention of league final etc

Kerry hsve a midfield and forwards and their defensive system just conceded two goals more than cork but difference is kerry have built one so will have one cork are meant to be building one but actually all talk defensive structure cork are quite poor and have imo no sign fixing this when goal keeper is devoid confidence due management, now cork user five different keepers yet called up once excellent but now past it paddy o shea who I'm told was badly fault two goals for seabdun other day when conceded four
He's kick outs won't matter as cork midfield options are appalling in year two and imo management totally to blame as with out maguire they still needed cover

Now before anyone says cork need time to develop the defensive structure, absolutely rubbish imo when Dublin like cork just implement it this year yet conceded best defensive record league one in 2-78 and despite finishing second to cork actually have plus twenty two better scoring difference to cork
Dublin bar offaly and fermanagh best defensive record all round but there in lower division so Dublin proved as gavin said after he wonderfully accepted he was to blame after donegal took self doubt off team and pressure has done what he said he would evolve Dublin
Our set up talks the talk but actually is not learning at all at all and like said day one no surprise defensive system is bad when level coaching implement it I doubt is up it plus play corner backs who are half backs, play full backs half back like cadogan and shields different games, no settled unit half back and our best shot stopper is now rocked confidence god help cork I fear against kerry team in championship with maher Buckley and moran all options at midfield supplying a fresh sullivan, Gooch, improving tommy Walsh, impressive geaney, imperious o dounoughe and great Donaghey out so called good defensive structure when people actually look at the stats and don't go with over blown hype like last year imo clear as day huge issues in cork system still
There's imo no difference to last year and while thankfully I was wrong we weren't as bad get relegated we were lucky winning monaghan Tyrone poorly coached mayo by last minute scores and imo fitness is carrying us finsh strong as cork training since November and flangan been excellent but come championship against Dublin or kerry I see no signs say we're actually better than last year

Kerry also last year focused on defensive side and in ist year of new system had best league defensive score that division last year crucially like Dublin showed they had for championship a system in place on defensive side as like Dublin all know had forwards to score
Cork we all know have forwards but unlike teams I mentioned our defensive side that were working on is actually imo poor and compound this we have no midfield so unlike Dublin in ist league game and monaghan allowed us go short on kick outs in the summer and imo league final one teams press high end up like kerry done last year and cork have to go long were in huge trouble as with no possession our talented forwards can't score but this weak defensive side is going to be under constant huge pressure

Also cork scoring is good but lot of cork scores are coming from running through the centre with half backs causing over laps and were open on the counter where you look at Dublin v monaghan and kerry v Tyrone they actually went through in two scores over twenty phases showed a cohesion composure belief in the system and then didn't run through the middle as in championship it will cause turnover actually kicked long and got awesome scores
They both have half forward who can not only do that but work hard
Credit Kevin and colm driscoll who can work but they can't score from distance or create and o rourke who proved even Sunday one few cork players do well won't be picked in colm driscoll will be picked over him and cork will start most team moral victory defeat to mayo imo
I don't want to bust any cork bubble as I love cork to win but imo realistic huge issues as statics show cork so far

Neil francais is not popular writer but I admire him and he's honesty in the balls to call it before bath game many months ago and after it leinster hsve poor management in matt o Connor and are going backwards and will delay inevitable as toulon will crucify them as bath game showed up the huge problems they hsve and despite winning they struggled beat average team normal times they would destroy
Unfortunately I am following francais style in it pains me to be negative against a team I love and like francais and leinster I love cork football but like francais doesn't do false dawns and I'm the same I see huge problems still with this team and I can't see cork fixing them for championship
I'd love to be wrong but I can't see cork beating kerry or Dublin this year as Dublin are getting better in every game and conceded of 2-78 imo shows huge evolution this team this league and their still scoring
They have fixed their problems from last year
Imo cork haven't fixed one yet now created another one in the goal keeper situation

    From Balls.ie:

Government Concerns Cast Major Doubt On Páirc Uí Chaoimh Redevelopment

    Gary Reilly

    April 8, 2015

Up to €30 million of funding for the Páirc Uí Chaoimh redevelopment has been put in doubt after issues were raised with the long term viability of a 45,000 capacity ground.

The Irish Independent this morning reports that the proposed €70 million redevelopment has hit a serious snag after a cost-benefit analysis sent to the government was deemed to not meet the required standard.

The primary problem seen by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform is that the County Board’s projections for non-sporting events such as concerts may be ‘overly optimistic’.

With the GAA stumping up the remaining €40 million for the project it is not thought that this snag will hold up the imminent redevelopment according to Cork County Board chairman, Ger Lane.

We are driving on anyway. The stadium isn’t in doubt. That is for sure. It will be built.

Having said that, the withholding of the promised funds does mean that the extent of the project may need to reassessed should a new cost-benefit analysis meet similar opposition.

Debate has flared regarding the redevelopment with many believing that a 45,000 capacity stadium is not needed in Cork and Munster. However, many have countered that opinion with the belief that a stadium of such size will allow high profile events to take place outside Dublin, something which is not possible with existing infrastructure.

It would be ridiculous, not to mention very cynical of the govt to withdraw funding at this stage. lets hope this is a non-story, but given the broken promises with regard to cork airport, it wouldn't surprise me.

However, I honestly think the scale of this project is completely over the top. it will never be full for football, and only occasionally for the hurling - probably only for the highly anticipated matches against Tipp.

The focus should surely be on the development of a proper centre of excellence, similar to what most progressive county boards have undertaken in recent years, and then an upgrading of PUC on a more modest scale.

Anyway, this has probably already been discussed here ad infinitum.

It is not cynical at all at all but the government are well within their rights in once cost anyalsing report was done and showed major flaws with it they are absolutely right to call a halt to the shambles when country is in a state economic depression, water charges , awful health system it's a joke that even thought giving that amount money to this over priced white elephant with as said by some in media centre mediocrey not excellence to begin with
This does not surprise me one bit as I said on this thread and others months ago there would be some drama with this before stadium was built

Typical ccb response well drive ahead and build worry about cost after despite thirty million in debt
It's quite simple really Ireland doesn't need stadium like this with croke park and if wants that scale then pay for it themselves when have the funds to but no some cork want everyone else bar themselves fund most of the cost
I am delighted the government flagged this as an issue and there well within their rights to and it's far from cynical imo just more of better late than never
The stadium for amount money being built was a joke imo moving off roof old stand among other examples showing far from excellent stadium
If it was then imo could justify the huge investment but that would still be at a huge push in way too much money for stadium that will imo be half empty half the year round and this concert nonsense that they will fill it regularly imo is just fantasy land
As regards broken promises if so be fair cork county board with its history are hardly in a position to claim moral high ground
I hope this story is true and that money is pulled imo

Surely the cost benefit analysis should have occurred before the government gave any commitment to provide funding? It seems a mess on all sides really.

I would imagine that this is a CYA situation in terms of the civil service, for when the stadium ends up inevitably being a white elephant down the line, they can raise their hands and say we followed procedure and raised the warning flags, but were over-ruled by the government. I can almost picture the resigned sad faces the civil servants will be making in front of the Public Accounts Committee/ tribunal/court/Prime Time presenter .

In what might be completely unrelated news I have heard chat that the project is already running over budget by a serious chunk. Talk of the overall cost likely to be approaching €80m before too soon.

2-20 to 1-13 FT. one swallow doesn't make a summer but that's great to see. don't know if Limerick didn't turn up after HT or Cork blew them out of it but holding Limerick to 4 points in the 2nd half is great going.

Im sick and tired of all this talk about the opposition wasn't up for it whenever a Cork team wins.Cork were fantastic tonight so let's focus on that. One swallow does not make a summer and im not a subcriber of the county boards mushroom theory policy but please god if we keep this group together Cork will be back winning senior all Irelands sooner rather than later.I don't know about all Irelands but this team will not be easily beaten by anyone. This sleeping giant of a hurling county has been asleep for too fcucking long in my view.

Wouldn't surprise me as started at 68m in media then jumped to 70
An absolute imo avoidable situation from day one this white elephant was

There's always a drama imo with the ccb
I also fear if goes ahead this si called elite monument will actually fall well short of expectations being promised

Some turn around in the minor game. Cork were in huge trouble coming up to half time. Limerick were threatening a goal which could have put the game to bed as at that stage they were 7 pts up.Cork got it down to 3 at ht and the rest is history. Kingston gave as good a display as I've ever seen from a Cork minor. Nailed on to be a senior starter next yr on this form. Practically every other Cork player played well in the second half. 2 of the starting backs were destroyed in the 1st half and yet lasted the game. Some changes still needed for the semi final. You also have the crazy situation of Cork possibily having to travel to Lim to play as significantly chastened Limerick side who will have learnt a tonne, with Cork essentially being penalised for winning tonight. Jerry Wallace will be the happiest man in Cork tonight.

Kingston is an unbelievable talent and the main difference on field last night - having said that once Cork got into their stride there were some classy scores from forwards and John Looney certainly threw down a marker for a start the next day

can Kingston keep it all going without any personal cost - on back of an extensive campaign with Rochestown, dual minor, and I'm assuming playing minor and 21 ( I heard he hasn't been used in senior ranks in Douglas yet - that won't last for too long ) hurling and football with club - he needs to be minded

Are Cian Lynvh, Ronan Lynch, Aussie Gleeson, etc all dual players with this intensity ?
Limericks experience showed in first half as opposed to a nervy flat start from Cork - Full back line in trouble and Murphy esp running riot - again once Cork settled those lads esp Griffin played themselves back into game - Limerick were limited to 4 from play second half - Flanagan looked dangerous first 15 but was reeled in for a finish
Chris O Leary had a storming second half, and Cormack made a big differnce when he came out to half forward turning over ball and making big hits

Limerick will have to break up the inside forwards to win more ball from midfield up - have to bring Flanagan back to half forwards or midfield - and there's a lot of talk of a Limerick Cork semi final but it seems Waterford were only edged out in Tipp so I wouldn't rule out a Waterford win there if Limerick can't rebuild

positive start for Cork in any case

Cork 1-4 Tipp 0-8 HT. Tipp's full forward line have 2 pts each. Goal and a couple of Cork pts at the end of the half brought us back into it, Tipp were well on top. hopefully like the Minors last night we can drive on in the 2nd half
