Very calm here Squire, lived in England for 25years and learned how to deal with violent racists calmly but effectively very much a minority among one of the nicest nationality's I have met.
I usually found that the foaming of the mouth came from racists and their defenders rather than their victims.

    G"day squire.

he got chance after chance. he was on a final worning and still continued to act the bollox. he is not above the BBC. nobody is, he had his chance, and if he has blown it, tough ****. you little children will have to find something else to listen to that talks the type of low rent trash he talks

It is pretty much across the board. I'm always a bit surprised when I run into the racists, usually propping up a bar somewhere and coming out with things like "we used to hate you Irish, but now you don't seem so bad, at least you're white"..

    Gee, thanks.

No baiting here, just benign amusement at the Little England "Ooh vay don't do it properly over vare DOOOO vaaayy!!" thing you get in parts of The England. I don't take much notice of them, I don't take JC's "racism" to heart either. In fact, I'd love to have a pint with him so I could respond to his "Unintelligible red-haired potatoist with a Semtex fetish" with something along the lines of "Pubic-hair headed slack-jawed Public School bugger-sack with delusions of adequacy"! :D

I wouldn't worry too much. Just because he is sacked from TG doesn't mean he won't be spouting his trash on another channel, the internet, books, newspaper columns, etc...
So there will be plenty of scope for him to continue as is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,566 ✭✭✭✭My name is URL

I'm not buying for a second that he has been sacked. Unless the BBC officially announce it I'll assume it's just Clarkson talking vague nonsense and trying to get as much mileage and hype out of the thing as possible before it's announced that he'll be returning to TG in couple of weeks.

The BBC are probably creaming themselves at the thought of a million people signing a petition to 'bring him back'... all the while questions remain unanswered about the organisation's cover-up of other presenter's abuse. There's been more outrage over his suspension than there was regarding Saville. How many people took to the streets or marched on BBC HQ about that whole thing?!

Christ almighty the world is a funny and fickle place at times. And all you can do is laugh at those defending him like blindly loyal lapdogs. A grown man losing the head and attacking someone because they didn't have dinner ready for them... if it was a teenager coming in from school and losing it with his mammy for the same reason I doubt anyone would defend such behavior.

So theres a tank driving about London at the moment with The Stig sitting on top on its way to Broadcasting House to deliver the Reinstate Clarkson petition
I've got to see this :D

Its on this twitter video, the tank is in fact a Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance Scorpion (appropriately enough it holds the world record for fastest tank type vehicle)

I wasn't there, of course, and still don't really know what to think. Clarkson hitting someone is on a different level to his past verbal indiscretions. There was no camera on him, so this is not "Jeremy Clarkson" the TV character but the man being himself with a few drinks in him.

One way of looking at it: the punishment should fit the crime. The didn't happen on the show itself, and I don't see why the show should suffer as a result. As already pointed out: the show is bigger than Clarkson, and they could do it without him. But I don't think they have to, if they can devise a suitable penalty. I'm back to my idea of a chunky charity donation, maybe some time in the "sin bin".

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Why can't it be an eye for an eye, let Oisin get a slap in and it's all squared away.

If the BBC were smart they run a "Educating Essex/Yorkshire" style tv show where Clarkson gets to learn about the ****e he rambles on about.

Forcing Clarkson to do a reality TV show would be a great punishment. Follow him as he goes on anger management, AA, sensitivity classes. It's sure to be entertaining and BBC get to humiliate him while making money off him.

Why are people so hung about some minor altercation between JC and a producer off screen over an effing dinner ? Does the Irish comment really irk you all that much ?

I can't see why the show's quality should suffer over an off screen dispute and a few snobbish bores who already hate the show anyway. Fine the fcuker, prolong the suspension and compensate Oisin Tymon.

That's not how the law works, but if they were smart they might put out an invite to the general public to 'stand in ' or 'sub' for poor Oisin.

Would have to say, unashamedly, I would pay good money to sink a steel-toe into his nutpurse.

That's just me, could need help, in fairness.:P

what culture am i "defending" calling out bigoted tripe doesn't equal full "defending"

You keep telling yourself that ...
all things not unique to the traveling community. but you don't really care about that. i'd bet you would probably not pay a cent if you thought you could get away with it. those who rant about travelers not paying tax would be the first not to pay themselves if they could get away with it

"Get away with it". What was it you were saying earlier about "little children" ?

As much as I like Clarkson, watching him suffer is top class entertainment. They're getting too accustomed to these long road trips, they don't seem to have the same level of hardship despite them getting older.
