Wow,you love top gear so this racist idiot should get a free pass.
Now all of a sudden its us Irish peoples fault for being sensitive and poor Jezza was just using hyperbole.Only from a certain type of Irishman with an inferiority complex could you hear this type of stuff and just encourages the racists to continue because they say you are to thick to even notice that they are going out of their way to stereotype you with their racist insults never mind physically attacking you.

One question for you,you think Ron Atkinson should have been sacked if he said lazy fu*cking black man?.
Was he just using hyperbole and just speaking his mind, and was he just to good at his job and made the TV company to much money to be sacked?

Irish is a nationality, black isn't. Or do you not realise that. And no I don't take any offence from Clarksons comments because it's only Clarkson like, I don't feel inferior to him ergo I can stand shoulder to shoulder with the man and we can label each other by our nationality without the other getting upset emotionally.

I don't think he was joking at the charity function last night, as he appears to get choked up at one point.
I doubt he would have unless there was an element of truth to what he was saying. Really can't see him presenting the show again now anyway.

I find it funny what a fanboy of Clarkson you are. Especially as we all know Tory boys like him hate the Irish, the likes of him and his pals in the Chipping Norton set and Chelsea Football Club would see you as scum. Despite this you're on here day after day as a fanboy defending him whereas he would be snorting at you if the boot was on the other foot. Clarkson and his ilk decry the so called political correctness that no longer allows them to be racist to the Irish (or to blacks) but on this occasion Clarkson's mask slipped while he was pissed drunk.

In any case he is sacked , the right decision has been made, even if deluded fanboys won't accept it

As if I've never heard RTE presenters being "racist" towards the Brits
Yeah I'm a huge fanboy of Clarky, one of many things I'm a "fanboy" of. Samsung is another. What are you a fan of?

Commercial interests always come above just about everything else in a business. We're fine with buying products made in poor countries where employees get taken advantage of, but a minor scuffle between two grown men is a national outrage and such a disgrace that a business should ditch one of it's main selling points.

I don't know how many times I can say he shouldn't be immune from criticism or consequences, before people stop reading it as the exact opposite of what I said.

What punishment, if any, would you suggest then? And will this punishment actually force him to change his ways and act decently to those who work for him? Remember, whether right or wrong, he is on a final warning.

How about we paddle his bare posterior like the good old Etonian days. :) Then we can all get on with our lives like men & watch proper top gear with explosions and power instead of this b*tching holding a grudge thing because he may have said something about something :rolleyes:

Not half as sorry as someone who thinks its ok to be racially abused and assaulted by a racist little Englander and then tell him what a wag he is with his hilarious "hyperbole"and his "speaking his mind".

You may not like this incident, but if it happened as reported then it cannot just be laughed away. If however it is nothing more than a little verbal argument between two men, by all means it's a storm in a teacup. However allegedly shouting and verbally threatening the other person, and then physically abusing him cannot be swept under the rug, no matter how many signatures you have in support.

This final warning keeps being brought up, what's the final warning for? The only people who mentioned it was one of the rags and they cited BBC errors of judgement as much as Clarksons as the incidents that lead to him being on a final warning.

I'm not making any suggestions on how they should go about disciplining him. All I'm saying is that they must consider the fact that firing him could very likely kill the show. They could dock pay, they could remove some perks he more than likely has, they could make him pay the victim some compensation although I don't see why an apology wouldn't be enough between adults.

I'd say if you held a gun to Clarkson head and told him to change his ways he still wouldn't do it.

The tank had banners sprayed all over it advertising rentals. Was a publicity gimmick on the back of looking for Clarkson to be brought back along with Top Gear.

    That's not what I said.

That depends on what you mean by leftist. In relation to suggesting a new presenter for Top Gear, my position isn't at all political. It's simply that I don't think a presenter should be selected on the basis of disrespecting any segment of the potential audience.
Who said anything about disrespecting anyone?

TV shows are segmented all the time, programs about sport cater primarily to men, shows about fashion cater primarily to women, religious interest shows cater to religious types, science shows appeal to educated people, comedy shows to people who like comedy, science fiction to nerds, environmental shows to environmentalists etc.

Top Gear should exclude Guardianista eco-feminists because those people don't want to watch shows about fast cars, racing and comedic challenges. As the Guardian pointed out, they'd rather watch shows about how the new Nissan Leaf can go for 30 miles on an overnight charge if you drive it like a 100 year old and things like that. Not Top Gears audience. Who, as license payers, have as much right to be represented in programming as the Guardian reading eco-feminists.

Would there be a concern for Tymon's safety assuming Clarkson is sacked given the sort of cult lunacy on display in recent weeks anyone reckon?
