Mint Aero is on a wind-up. Just ignore him.

No Top Gear tonight because of Clarkson's diva out burst. Asshole.

I was hoping the bbc would bring forward Louis Therouxs new series in its place.

Strong words for someone who claims to dislike being rude and obnoxious, and has a high degree of control over how rude and obnoxious they are to other people.

I've worked for far, far worse people than I imagined Clarkson is, I think myself that some drama queening with a view to compensation is at play too. Anyway, You lot are speculating every bit as much as we are. All that's left now, really is to sit and wait.

Same here, I've worked in a factory where we would be shouted at like dogs and on several occasions came to within an inch of punching my cnut of a boss.
At some stage I did explode and shouted at him like a dog, result he fired me, I walked off and half an hour he rang and apologized and asked me to come me back. I had to, since I didn't have another job lined up at the time, which I did 6 months later. :D
He never tried to punch me or anyone in the joint, because he knew he would be lynched. Now that's health and safety at work. Thankfully now work in a normal, respectable place.

    Very strong words.

Stronger than calling someone an lazy Irish cnut, apparently.

Except they would be his words. Not yours. The thing about people like Clarkson is that to anyone not on the right wavelength, he looks like he's sneaking in snide remarks/jokes. In reality, he makes absolutely no illusions about how intelligent or what an arsehole he is, and I like him for it.

The only "embarrasing" thing here is the two faced hypocrisy of your posts in this thread.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of hypocrisy.

If Clarkson is shown to have punched the producer and have slurred him, do you still think he should be retained as a presenter?

These guys don't agree. All seems rather jovial :)

I'd actually be quite interested in the opinions of the people in this thread of Piers Morgan :)

    Yes.

People do far worse and retain their jobs. At the very most, Clarkson's "victim" might have lost a tooth. Due to the actions undertaken by various people, hundreds if not thousands have lost their homes or livelihoods and there, the responsible sit, laughing at everyone. Safe with their golden handshakes, pensions and what have you. Your sheer focus on this single incident, between two people, at most a few more over the years is sadly extremely common.

If someone in a normal job ,who isn't a celebrity decided to punch someone in the face and slur them then what would happen? They would be suspended and the assault would be investigated . Then they would be sacked and criminal offences brought against them.

Jeremy Clarkson's celebrity status doesn't make him immune to this or at least it shouldn't. I can't see him surviving it tbh.

Couldn't agree more! A lot of people on the #BringBackClarkson hashtag on Twitter are saying he deserved it because his face is 'punchable' and because his name sounds all weird and foreign or something.

At least I think that's what they're saying. Most of their tweets are indecipherable.

No, I've been on the business end of a clenched fist before. I could have, by all means "cleaned him out" but for what??? Eight months spending your time and money in court, where you are treated as much a criminal as him, only to actually recive at the most, ten or so grand. Half years wages to some. And you are unemployable for life as a result. That's the usual result. Anyone who would go through all that over a punch needs their head examined. It's greed, plain and simple. Societies quest for compensation. It wasn't worth it to me so I decided to save eight months and strike back.
But lets say I was punched and actually did truly clean someone out. The man ruined my face for a few days, and I decide ruin his life? I deserve much more than a simple punch for that. Grow up a little, the world is a prick of a place and people hit people all the time. Hit back.

How are you unemployable for life if you take someone to court for assault.

The person who commits the assault may be but I'd imagine most employers wouldn't be put off by somebody rightfully taking someone to court if they were assaulted in work.

Maybe the lad Clarkson hit isn't violent and it isn't in his nature to hit someone back.Thankfully their are some people like that in the world.

so how you like if your boss had punched you, called you a cnt and then you had eejits on the web saying you deserved it, had a punchable face, and your boss was right.
ohh and the best bit is eventhe country's prime minister is telling evryone how wonderful your boss is.

clarkson did the equivalent of the drunken husband coming home from pub late who throws his weight around when his dinner isn't wiating for him.
he is just a bully and anyine that apologises for him are sorry excuses.

I am not allowed discuss …

True, the person that threw the punch is indeed unemployable but unfortunately, so is the person who bought everything to court. From an employers point of view, that's not attractive. It's far from fair but it's unfortunately true.

Try not to be so impressionable and naive son. Seriously are you afraid your kids are going to drown in the rain or what?

It's called humour fella, they're not slurs when used in this context, for instance do you cry racist when an Irish chap is referred to as a Paddy or an Italian paisan is referred to as a greaseball?

Lighten up a bit and you might live longer son, it's all in jest around here.

I think it's usually those least likely to have a racist comment passed at them that say it's all just a bit of fun.
Perhaps if you were part of a minority race where jokes like "slope" are thrown at, I'm sure you'd have a problem with that. What if it were being thrown round in front of your children.
Racism should never be tolerated and those who pretend to dress it up with humour are just even bigger cowards, they know it's wrong and dress it up as something else. It's designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator in the lowest forms of people.

And I'm not your son !!

    This is so convoluted.

If someone assaults you then they deserve to face the full consequences of their actions.

Clarkson is in the public eye. He should have known that he wouldn't get away with something like this , not that he should have even if he wasn't a celeb.

Being unemployable for life because you bring a case against someone who assaulted you at work? I highly doubt it.
