You can actually get around the geo-blocking from devices like that but I would never take the risk of discussing it here despite their legality.

I thought Geo-locked was just having been drunk in every country at least once.

That's your punishment for being a deserter, you don't get to see Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill on demand :P

If anyone is interested in trying XBMC and has an old PC around I highly recommend http://openelec.tv/ It's designed for the Raspberry Pi so works really well on low powered machines and is pretty easy to install.

And when you have the programme from openelec.tv installed, you could consider going to a website that I'm trying to remember to find addons that work for kodi. aghhhhhh I can't remember it!

Has plenty of useful stuff if anyone can recall it.

    Parking in Dublin

On Friday last at about 18:05 I parked on Anglesea Rd to head to Baan Thai, it was still pay & display until 19:00hrs so I put €2 in the machine but that only gave me parking until about 18:45. Never realised it was that expensive that far our or that late.

On Saturday coming up the canal after the game I saw three vehicles clamped but the P&D machine was covered and looked out of order so the drivers must have assumed that it was free to park. Poor soles, saw a few French fans taking photos of the clamped vehicles so it must have been new to them.

Clamping is old fashioned to the Parisiens.

When they introduced it there a long time ago, the locals, en masse, set about super-gluing the locks of the clamps each time one was applied, which meant each time a punter paid up, the operator was obliged to grind off his own clamp, and often replace it. Thus, it became uneconomic very quickly to be a clamper. End of problem.

I do love the French method of summary democracy.

There's usually a few P+D meters on the road and there's also a phone app you can use I think. Parking in Dublin is expensive yea. :(

It's almost always until 7pm though, Monday - Friday or else Monday - Saturday

I think 18.45 is the latest you can get a print out to but I'm not sure if the machine won't take your money for time after that, if that makes any sense.

    Could be wrong though.

I've only flown with Ryanair twice myself, if it wasn't because I had the return ticket with them it'd of only been once.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

I've never had a problem with them. I am glad they introduced reserved seating though.

  • Posts: 24,816 ✭✭✭✭ Greta Massive Saliva

Ryanair is class. Play by the rules, pay no cash basically.

The rules aren't that difficult either.

Excellent PR stuff from Aer Lingus there though!

I come out in a horrible rash anytime anyone ever says 'I've booked us a ticket to X, with Ryanair'.

I don't remotely understand Ryanair's insistence on a passport for the Ireland-UK routes but all the same, they make it reasonably clear.

I don't particularly like Ryanair but I flew with them an awful lot when I lived in the UK as a student and I wouldn't have been able to afford to go home much otherwise.

Anyways...surely the price of the flight would be irrelevant to Mr. Owens? He hardly pays for his own transport!?
