Whatever about the result it was another pathetic performance from the boys in red. Management need to be called into question as performances seem to be getting worse, players aren't hungry enough and we seem to be losing all the 50/50s. We were played off the park for long periods by West ham. West ****ing ham. I can honestly say that our performances are worse this year than last given all the players that were signed. 24 games in and LVG still doesn't have a clue how to set up his team or what his best team is. Most of his signings haven't worked. Not sure I could take another year of Louis Van Hoofball.

And people complained about Moyes' press conferences.

I'd be a lot closer to calling for LVG's head right now than I ever did with Moyes. Yesterday was the first time the idea of replacing him popped into my head.

Obviously I'd rather that didn't happen but he's been terrible so far in everything other than the signings of Rojo and Blind.

Smalling and Rojo proved to be decent option but somehow Jones always plays ahead of Smalling.

Smalling has been beyond crap most of this season. I think Jones' limitations are more system based than Smallings but Evans is far better than both, especially in a team that supposedly wants to keep the ball.

I'd love not to see a team with Januzaj in it for at least a year and a half too.

    Yep, exactly my thoughts.

I dont want him sacked but his stubbornness will be his undoing.

Rodgers was stubborn in his approach during the start of the season, when that wasn't working he (eventually) re-jigged things and they look a different team. We look toothless and void of creativity in MF. If Jan starts again any time soon then I may well pull my hair out.

I cut LVG alot of slack earlier in the season due to the amount of injuries but at this stage even with a fully fit squad to pick from are we able to come close to dominating teams that on paper, we should be dispatching of easily.

Yeah Januzaj will improve massively by not playing, great way to improve a young player.

Rodgers was forced to change system due to injuries and my issue with LVG is that is similarly stubborn. Rooney out of Midfield and Herrera in is something most part time fans could see as an obvious move to make us more fluid. Yet LvG continues to select Rooney.

At one stage yesterday Di Maria and Januzaj were within three yards of each other. I'm all for an interchanging system but the midfield needs some kind of shape to function. We were so so bad at times it was depressing to watch. Top 4 is a minimum for Van Gaal IMO.

Evans in my mind at the start of the season should have been the backbone of our defence. He has been terrible this season though and I'd love to know why be has regressed so badly.

Januzaj has talent, the kid needs a loan move to Everton or Stoke to get some game time in a team that uses proper wingers or somewhere to get game time in a number 10 role. Don't see him being good enough to displace Rooney/Mata in that role at the moment

Playing in a different position every game is what's messed Evans up imo. Big difference between the left, right and centre in a back 3 and there was a stage where he'd be in 3 different ones over 3 games. His positioning and decision making have been the problem this season. Not like Smalling who can barely get the ball without panicking. Jones is somewhere in between on this imo as he can use the ball well but the mentality of the team is wrong atm for him to do so.

Januzaj has some raw attributes, it could go either way but when he is making the wrong choice pretty much 100% of the time and his passes aren't finding their mark along with his usual dribble into 3 players and lose the ball he can't be carried. Offers nothing at either end of the pitch.

He's starting to look completely clueless to me at this stage. What sort of philosophy allows you to play your striker in midfield and when all else fails throw on the big lump up front. Make no mistake, this current form will see us drop out of the cl league spots. We're playing far worse than the three clubs below. They've eaten into any gap we had and we'll be passed shortly.

Starting to get the feeling that this manager may not be up to the job. No one would tolerate this off moyes, hows lvg escaping at all

    Philosophy = boll&x

I never see journalists quiz him on what his philosophy is and why it isn't working.

I currently tolerate it because LVG's body of work points to intelligent, creative and attractive football. I live in hope that signings made in the coming summer will balance the squad properly and we will get a proper tactical and formation set to work from.

Moyes' body of work did not point to attactive, intelligent and creative football imo and his losing of the players so early was a massive problem for me too. LVG, for the most part, has teh players right behind him - or so it would appear.

Maybe things will be no better next season - I hope they will be though.

A lot of revisions going on here with regards Fellaini. His best performances this season have come from being the 2 way midfielder, not the 'lump in the box'.

Just reminds me how LVG has twice now this season gone backwards with his tactics and it's baffling.

Just relaying here what I put in the match thread yesterday - I hope DiMaria never plays a minute for United again. He is gloriously hopeless, adds absolutely no value to the team. More often than not he cant beat the first defender with his crosses and I'm pretty sure I saw him pull out of a challenge that was 60/40 in his favor yesterday.

I wonder how many shots of his went over the bar between yesterday and the Leicester game last week. It boils my blood.

Yup, agree, then play him right back.

Nothing makes my blood boil. If it did, I would die. Not sure where the internal combustion would come from though.

I like to keep my blood a toasty 38c

van gaal needs to grow a pair and drop rvp now, its painfully clear that Falcao and RVP can not play together. Rooney needs to be removed from midfield asap.

with shaw out for Tuesday I would imagine smalling will come in centre back, rojo pushed out to left back.

I would also hope that he starts with Herrera in midfield as it is gone beyond a joke now at this stage how little game time he is getting. Januzaj also should drop down to the bench in place of mata

Di Maria was terrible yesterday, looks like he doesn't want to be there, looks dis interested, no work rate, no effort, and surprisingly poor even in possession. If PSG come in the summer with 50 million we should snap their hands off.

Jesus lads put the guns back in the holsters.

Di Maria is one of the best players in the world who's had a few bad games coming back from injury.

    Form is temporary...class is permanent.

I cant think of any games this season where this supposed class was ever present?

It's time to cut the crap and call it what it is.

One good season assisting 3 of the best attackers in the world, does not a world class player make.

For me looking back at LVG he was top dog but since he's joined its like he doesn't want to upset the apple cart. We NEED the man that pissed off journalists and dropped players at the bat of an eyelid.

It's like he's terrified to drop Falcao / RVP they're both ****ing awful. Id actually just play Rooney up top with Mata behind him and a midfield 4 behind that the has Di Maria WIDE and we'd be set.

We might still get top4, but I don't give a **** what anyone says Moyes would have gotten top 4 this season with that squad.

Blind to replace Shaw in Wednesday, with Herrera coming in for Blind in midfield ?

    Maybe Januzaj dropped as well

the most infuriating thing about van gaal is he never on the touch line during a game EVER. not once does he ever shout out and change tactics a bit, slow making substitutes, was clear at half time our 2 strikers were being showed up by west hams strikers, Wilson should have come on, pace energy, but no, van gaal waits until the 70th min and brings on fellaini so we can put a few hit and hope high balls into him
