Mayoral car of Limerick would be 97-L-1, for Limerick City. LK is county.

    ....I think.

    Correct.

The two administrative areas were unified last year so all vehicles first registered after 01.01.2014 in the city or county are "L" only.

Saab's were the car of choice for Limerick mayors back in the mid to late 90's I think. My mother's cousin was mayor in 96 and I think he had a 900

Edit: Never mind what I said there. He had a Carina as mayor according to my brother and his wife drove a Saab for years. Motor check tells me most mayoral cars in the late 90's were rovers and early 00s were Saab's. I knew there was a few of the same cars in the running for a while

I know 98 LK 1 and it's also a Jag, or a Daimler 4 litre supercharged LWB. I don't know who the previous owner was but it's quite a coincidence the two regs are attached to Jags.

My guess would be they were just pre-orders from some big shot in Limerick in 1997 and 1998.

And for an 08 car I was making a comparison with other 08 cars in Ireland, not a particular model.

I wouldn't call it "a steal" unless you're happy with the entire Irish road network!!

motor tax being spent on the roads? :pac:

Looks very well when polished up like that. Might do my one tomorrow I'm gone terrible bad in terms of cleaning it the last few months maybe it's just down to the weather leaving the roads in a crap condition. It hasn't seen polish since last summer.

Those corollas are still a very fresh looking car. is that 13 years old? :O

Said it before and I'll say it again but those wheels look great on that corolla!

Make it look very modern IMO. The condition of the rest of the car is class too:)

I really like to see just "ordinary" cars that are really clean and well looked after. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside :P

Gave the golf it's first proper clean since last summer. Still very basic compared to the way some on here clean their cars, but anyway gave it a wash two bucket method and dry. Then used autoglym srp and then autoglym egp. Happy enough with how it came out not perfect but respectable looking again nice feeling to drive a car when it's clean.

Why? What happened? Being scrapped? If so are you able to keep parts off it?

Have a look at the build thread, about 4 pages from the last page, basically the serpintine belt snapped and took a load out with it, needs an alternator which is a pain to install, subframe needs to be dropped and stuff, it can be dine from the top but your making a world or pain for yourself, then a very kind boardsie gave me the navy one :) for free
