Anyone know the print rooms opening hours?

Wish they'd stick the heaters on higher in the library. Got caught out in that last hail shower and got soaked and now I'm froze.

Why do some modules have group presentations in fourth year? I hate group presentations!

My 4th year group project was the absolute worst group work I've ever had to do in my entire life. Good god. Got landed with this one oblivious moron who was so incredibly stupid and self centred that I still don't understand how she got her degree in the end

That doesn't improve. I was right by a window last year and I ended up bringing in a smaller heater with me!

Oh, I'm well aware. Sure I was there when they took out the window in the middle of winter and we barely even noticed a change in the temperature.

Any other villages get the "you shall not have guests past ten in the evening or we will kick them and you out!" email? Wonder why there's a sudden, random crackdown on it... Also, why is there only one visitor per night per house?

    Dear Residents,

There have been a number of issues in semester 1 and this week regarding residents of Kilmurry Village having overnight guests.

You must inform reception of any overnight guests. There is a maximum of 1 per house in Kilmurry Village and all residents must agree to the guest staying over. You must inform Village Management by 18h30 on a particular day. It is also important to note there are some dates where no guests are permitted, for example charity week / student race day. These guests will be added to a “resident guest list” which security have access to, this record is for health & safety reasons.

If someone is found in a house after 10pm and they are not on this list they will be asked to leave regardless of circumstance or situation. Having a guest stay over who is not signed in may result in a €100.00 fine per person.

International residents; you would have been informed of this during your induction. This is especially important if you have guests travelling from abroad.

Please see reference in your license agreement, which you would have signed on check in:

    1. The Licensee shall not permit visitors to remain overnight in or on any part of the Premises, the House or the Village and shall require all visitors to leave the Village by 22h00. If the Licensee is found repeatedly not adhering to this requirement it will result in an on the spot charge of €100 for the breach of the Terms herein or at the Licensor’s discretion, termination of this licence without refund unless another student acceptable to the Licensor is found by the expelled Licensee to occupy the Premises.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Village Management.

    Kind Regards,

There was a fierce crowd around Kilmurry until at least 12 last night, including a good few blowins. That email wasn't very surprising

It's literally impossible to enforce that rule in Kilmurray, there's so many ways in!

Most of them are blocked now. The fields are fenced and padlocked, there's now an entrance where there used to be a gap in the hedge and then there's the original entrance which is in full sight of the shortcuts across the bowl, gym and pitches. The only unwatched way now is by the river and I haven't been down there yet so I don't know if they've fenced that too while they were fencing everything. They're a random fence at the side of the tennis courts that isn't affecting the construction so has no need to be there, so I wouldn't be surprised if the river is blocked too.

Plus, I think they rely more on catching people in the houses rather than catching people coming in.

Should do it round my end in Plassey...As much as I like international students (I live with 6 of them), the houses that hold all Americans (I know because of their USA chants) are ridiculously rowdy and noisy...Now I know it is week 1 but still, some people really enjoy their sleep and prefer not to be woken up by mindless chanting.

Also, could anybody help me and tell me where on earth B1005 is? Directions from Ski slopes or Red raisins would make me more than happy :P
4th year and still getting lost!

1 is Red Raisins level anyways. I think B1 is the room behind Red Raisins?

Question: Having trouble deciding whether to back out of Irish Literature and go for Post colonial literature instead which, though it has a group project, it's only 10 minutes and a 1,000 word reflection worth 25% as opposed to 25 mins with a 1,500 word piece worth 30% for Irish literature. Has anyone ever had Jack Fennell as a grader? What's is he like. Yianna's gone on sabbatical so he's running the module. My FYP supervisor is doing the Irish lit module so I wonder would it just be better to stick with that even if the assessment is more complicated? Ugh, this is giving me a headache. :(

Ahhh, I miss Jack! We had him for travel lit and he was unreal :D Sorry I don't know about his grading, but I loved him so much.

I've had him before (as a tutor) and he was lovely! Can't comment on his grading.

I'm taking Post-Colonial lit, looks grand!

I had him as a tutor and thought he was pretty cool but I've never actually had him grade anything I did. :)

As a sober person, I often do. Mainly because it helps stop drunken ejits from throwing themselves around the place and on top of you. You have no idea how many people seem to think there is no-one else around them and is therefore perfectly acceptable to stagger backwards/sidewards when dancing, completely ignoring one of the fundamental principles of physics; Pauli exclusion principle that two masses cannot occupy the same space at one time.

That's understandable once your not also jumping around as well as putting your elbows up. The amount of elbows to the face and head I took last night was mental.

Is anyone having trouble logging in to student portal to register modules/pay fees? My PC hangs when I input my DoB in the format DDMMYY.

OK I got in using Firefox, but it's now hanging when I click to reg modules. Im guessing the server is busy right now.

The usual bus goes past it eventually. It's easier getting off at the junction and walking over though
