MRA X-screen came during the week, and today was an excellent day to try it out. The roads near my place went from having the face blown off me to blissful sleepytime. Top notch. Gonna try it on a commute next week, assuming the wind isn't still trying to make anyone on a bike re-enact that scene from "E. T.".

Looks like you nicked a riot shield! I'd be tempted to launch a molotov cocktail at you to test it :)

I'll give it a go next week on a few pedestrians and report back :-)

Cleaned the pots, flushed the brake fluid and changed out the fried ebc for brembo pads.

Quite spin and the brembo pads feel great and there not even bedded in

    Hopefully no more brake issues.

Picked up a puncture on the way home from work Tuesday evening, got it plugged later that night. The screw sticking out of the tyre also took a good chunk out of my hugger.

Putting the bike on the main stand last night after battling the wind all the way home and it decided it would be a good time to bend out of shape.

Of course, I only found out the main stand bent out of shape when I tried to put the bike up on it this morning and over it went onto it's side. Cue more damage to the hugger, the belly pan and a nice dent the exhaust too.

    Not having a good week.

Did a few bits last weekend. Replaced a few connections and wires on my heated grips which hadn't been working. Got them going but in the process I drained my battery (which was on its last legs as it is) right down to the extent that it wouldn't even turn the bike over after 36 hours on an optimate.
Picked up a motobatt as a replacement so hoping I'll have no battery issues for a good few years now.

swore at my @twin as i'm awaiting a mosfet regulator, changed the wheel bearings on my montesa along with the gearbox oil then went for a little test run on it, man they are fun!

That's an unfortunate series of bad luck.

Bad luck always comes with the worst weather of the year - that's my experience too. For instance, last winter my one of my heated gloves stopped working on the coldest day of the year, it was snowing and well below 0. Made my howl in pain every time I had to clutch or brake.

Today I tried to oil the chain and found out that the rear wheel is very hard to turn by hand. Explains why I had to rev harder to keep the speed Friday night. Rear caliper binding probably - known issue with Fazers, but can't blame the bike, it's coated in salt and grime. Last time when this happened it cost me upwards of 200 euro to recondition that caliper. I don't know, I wonder if I should just change the caliper altogether... Hmm.

Go to Delboys Garage on youtube, he has a clip up on cleaning and servicing break calipers

Its a handy job, I certainly wouldn't be paying anyone to do it.

Btw just for your info, riding on seized calipers in this ice is deadly dangerous as although your wheel appears to be turning whilst riding it WILL lock up much, much easier on ice and often without you touching the break.

4th kid on the way so need to switch car to a 7 seater. Gotta sell the bike and split the money. 50% towards the new car and 50% towards another bike.

I also dont use the bike to cummute anymore as im only 20 minutes from home with no traffic these days so take the car. Its poxy though.... i genuinely feel sick selling it. Needs must though.... Gotta have the family car sorted.

After all the work you put in to it dude, sorry to hear it. You should get a decent few quid for it anyway. You might want to consider parting out some of the add on's separately if you font get what you want for it.

Yeah i had thought about it but will see how it goes leaving it all as one package for now. Im genuinely feeling sick at the thought of selling it but **** happens i guess.

Such a shame gary but the little ones are demanding. Still 4 k should pick u up a nice clean bike. I was reading on biker yesterday about buying in germany. Can be a bit of hassle but they have alot more choice and tough and stringent bike maintenance tests.

Where did you pick yours up? I've been considering getting one for ages, but haven't found a good deal anywhere.

4th! Good look to you there. Although, my mate is having his 6th. He's well and truely fúcked.

Yeah but the cost of getting there and getting the bike home even if done in one day is alot. So factor that in and the bargain gets smaller and smaller. Then buying a bike in a strange country with the language barrier etc etc and its a major no no TBH. Well it would be for me anyway.....;)

Finally found the oem brake lever for the gsxr. So yes I did change it in the dark and rain.

I think the pivot wasn't right in the Chinese shortys. I'll take good brakes over bling

Got mine on louis.de. They seem to be just spendy everywhere, so bit the bullet and picked one up. Worth it for the difference of quality of ride so far (although I haven't made it out since I posted about the test ride with it on).
