I don't know where to send it to, but have you tried leaving it plugged-out overnight, then trying again in the morning? In truth, 10 minutes might do it, but the overnight test is best.

If it's still banjaxed, remember, basically it's just a LINUX PC, so an an affable local PC repair person might figure it out. .. do some forum scouring first to see if you can find a likely cause.

Happened my one, I left it unplugged for around 6 or 7 hrs, plugged it back in and all fine again.

Happens to mine an odd time and unplugging for 10-15 minutes sorts it out.

That will only work in the short term and not recommended. can't remember exactly why but you are at risk of burning out a harder to replace part.

Not too hard a job. did my own and had never soldered before

Didn't realise that but the odd time it happened I didn't think it would be too bad.Probably done this 6 or 7 times in 4 years.

    regulator,like this:eek:

Repair kit for the Vu+Duo red light issue.

The kits consists of 1x Capacitor and 1x Regulator.

If you have a redlight on the duo it is normally caused by the Capacitor (C807) drying up but it can also blow the regulator (U801)

We can't guarantee 100% that the red light on your VU DUO is caused by this issue, however on most forum discussions this is identified as the cause of red light.

The capacitor value is 220uf same as the original that you will need to replace.

    The rugulator U801 is AOZ1021AI (SOP-8 Z1021AI)

In some cases you have to replace all 3 regulators and capacitors!

Yeah, it's the C807 capacitor that I had to change on mine when I had the problem.

Luckily, it was just the cap, didn't need to change the regulator.

Dose anyone have an issue switching between satellite channels and saorview channels i.e the box freezes and i have to manually reboot it. There is no problem switching from saorview to a satelite channel.

Hasn't happened to me, that I recall. Mind you, I don't watch Saorview too often.

What DTT stick are you using? I'm using the Nova, if it makes any difference.

Does anyone know why changing channels sometimes causes the HDD to spin up? I'm using Openvix, with no picons and EPG stored in flash memory. I've also tried moving the EPG to a separate USB stick but it makes no difference.

Do you have permanent timeshift enabled ? Sounds like it.

    I don't think so. Under Setup-System-Timeshift Settings-Automatically start timeshift after = Disabled.

you need to format a usb to fat 32 on pc then setup on box initialisation and mount usb then get epg to go to usb, that stops hdd starting up for epg.

you will end up having to reflash with new image and no settings restore when you bugger up the flash with corrupted epg data, hence using usb is better.

Thanks but I've tried that already and it doesn't stop this behaviour. For clarification, the HDD isn't constantly spinning up, but if I'm watching a movie on one channel for 1-2 hours, then press UP to move to new channel, the Vix logo appears as the HDD spins up.

I can prevent this if I stop the HDD going into standby, but I don't think that's great for the lifespan of the HDD.

box under stress as i get that on my vu duo, unless you stop epg going to internal flash box you will need to setup usb,if its a duo do you have a swapfile setup and cacheflush plugin?

    quick question regarding autobouquets.
I always move the channels around to suit the way I watch them but when I run an update it reverts them back into their original order.

Is there a way to set it up that it doesnt move the channels back when you run an update?
