    Dzeko was rusty tonight. Which was understandable. He still has to be strong favorite for starts over Jovetic. Thankfully his price is frozen 'til Saturday night. Can see how he looks v Leicester and then make a decision. Silva in my thinking too, and Nasri obviously based on what he did tonight

    How can you tell which prices are frozen or not? Like I asked a few posts back, I'm wondering if Eriksen will rise in value from 8.0M this GW?

    Are people still holding onto Azpil?

    I see i can use my FT to swap RVP in for Aguero using my 1 FT

    If i go ahead i'll be lining up with a 3-5-2

    Green
    Wisdom-Bertrand-Azpil
    Hazard-Sanchez-Eriksen-Boyd-Siggy
    Costa-RVP

    Elliot- Dummett- Austin- Duff

    Aguero to Costa looks like it has backfired!!!!

    Can't see Costa playing 90 mins the wkend and will surely be rested one of the GW's over Xmas

    Bought Yaya and Dzeko tonight, I wasn't mad about the Dzeko transfer but his fixtures were too good to ignore, hopefully he starts at the weekend now.

    ive had a howler the last few weeks with my strikers,putting the likes of falcao in when costa was out and he sits on the bence,put aguero in last week and he was only on the pitch for a few minutes.gonna go back to costa and play dzeko beside him

    also have to take out fabregas this week along with chambers.-8 before i even start :(

    A definite starter for probably the best defence in the league..why would you sell?

    Made the same moves myself; fixtures suit up until the wildcard and acon. After that they will both be dumped out again

    I'm going to wait until Saturday morning to pull the trigger, but feeling the -8 and

    Aguero -> Costa (presuming he starts)
    Eriksen -> Silva
    Chambers -> Azpi

    Worried about Clichy though :confused:

    I have to disagree. I know we can't trust Mourinho but he would have never played his best forward for 90 mins during a useless game if it was not for a reason.
    After the Newcastle game he hinted that Costa was lacking match fitness and that his recent lack of goals was probably a consequence of his lack of fitness.
    My conclusion is Costa needed to play a full competition game to get back to his top level and I don't see why he shouldn't start at the week-end. If he doesn't, either Mourinho is an idiot (which he's not) or he's been talking rubbish (which is possible but I wouldn't see the point here).

    I'll just add about Costa. He's a strong physcial lad who needs to be 100% strong to produce, we saw both sides of that with Atletico last year. Simeone's Atletico was/is playing a wearing football style which suited/suits Costa and in which he shined so in theory when fit this run of shortly spaced games over Christmas should suit him perfectly. Last year I heard from November that Atletico and Costa could not last all season with the style of football they were playing. Well they did. For a couple of seconds they would even have made the double La Liga/CL. And Costa lasted until GW35 (if memory serves me right). He was then stupidly rushed back and his "contract" with Del Bosque (take the Spanish "nationality" and I guarantee you a spot in la Roja) forced the latter to bring him and play him at the WC which was suicidal and vastly backfired on both.
    This year, it looks liike Mourinho didn't rush him back so let's hope he dealt with him cleverly and it'll pay dividends as soon as this week-end ;).

    I dont feel so bad now about my early Costa transfer :)

    Such an interesting GW ahead with a large percentage of teams having to take points hits.
    I have Aguero, S.Taylor and Austin out, plus Duff doubtful. Ideally Duff would be declared fit, which may save me a transfer. I'll hang onto Austin either way, Aguero will be coming out but not sure yet for whom (Pelle is my other striker).
    At the back I'm tempted to bring in Zabaleta for S.Taylor for a hit, could also go with a Chelsea defender instead.
    I've Pelle and Hutton on 4 yellows too so I'm mindful of that looking towards Christmas.

    .

    The Aguero injury really has made things interesting. It forces a lot to take points hits. It spreads the cash to other areas of the team. It makes the captain choice more challenging. It spices things up nicely.

    I sold Aguero and Krul for Dzeco and Hart. Did this on monday before the drops. Am a bit nervous about it but equally excited to see what my rivals have done.

    Cesc out , Ramsey or Mirallas IN

    Or will Silva start the weekend?

    I wish I just went back to look at my team on Saturday morning. I did some more tinkering and went from maybe having to do a -4, to doing a -8.

    Full summary of the pain I have caused myself:

    Aguero -> Bony
    Steven Taylor -> Baines
    ----
    Fabianski -> Hart
    Fabregas -> Eriksen

    Think I'm taking much more of a chance than I needed to :(

    Assuming both stay fit, I think Dzeko will get more time.

    This aguero decision is one of the toughest ive ever faced playing this game. Theres so many candidates to replace him and yet they all have flaws. Theres around ten different forwards im strongly considering and ive no idea how im going to narrow it down to one. Which forwards are the most likely to play every game over the christmas period? At the moment im thinking benteke and rvp are the best shouts in that regard (i already have austin and bony) id be interested to hear other suggestions, ings perhaps? Though i dont think he or burnley are good enough to consider

    Rooney will 100% play every game if fit but in what type of position.......I have him and kind of wish I didn't so I cud buy RVP........even still I might as the striker I want after this week is austin so will sell one of them then....... sensible thing I guess is just to get Costa in and see how that goes for one week.........

    Bizarrely I have a FT and nothing striking me as a necessary change! Seems a lot of people are talking about hits. I might bank it or take a punt on a defender with good short term fixtures

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,553 ✭✭✭✭Copper_pipe

    Can go

    Aguero > Sakho
    Boyd > Yaya toure

    For a -4 and still have 0.8m in the bank and that would leave me with a 3-5-2 for this week:

    Green
    Azpil-Bertrand-Wisdom
    Hazard - Siggy - Sanchez - Eriksen - Yaya toure
    Costa- Sakho

    Dummett-Austin-Duff

    I'm tempted but I think that's a bit of an overload in midfield...

    Costa definitely seems the safe choice for me, i just dont trust him/mourinho to play enough minutes. He'll fail to start at least one of the games and will prob get subbed in most others. Rooney is too unpredictable, ive no interest in signing him as long as hes playing centre mid. Rvp is very tempting, should start at least 4 of the next five, the only problem is utd were ****e on monday and rvp has been fairly disappointing all season. He'll take most of the chances he gets though so is certainly a strong candidate. In terms of fixtures, city are the most appealing over the next five but i cant figure out how theyll line up, id imagine dzeko and jovetic will do a fair bit of rotating. Lukaku also has good fixtures but will be rotated at some stage.

    My hand is being forced by Yaya's price.

    I have a midfield of Boyd, Downing, Siggy, Hazard, Sanchez.

    Up front I have Dzeko, Costa and Austin.

    I have a exactly enough in the bank to swap Boyd for Yaya for an -8 point hit.

    Another option I was considering was getting Bony in but I'm a little hesitant with Siggy already in my team.

    If I bring in Toure, I can play 5 in the middle in case either Costa or Dzeko are benched over the Christmas period. However, I'll also be giving myself a serious selection headache with no bench fodder in midfield.

    Otherwise I can hold off and bring him in for Siggy or Downing, both of which I kind of want to keep. Seeming as a lot of teams will be forced to take a 4-8 point hit, it doesn't seem like the worst idea to bite the bullet now while I can afford him. Silva is also an option, but I'd rather wait to see how he gets on at the weekend.

    I still haven't got a clue who I'm replacing Aguero with to partner Bony and the suspended Austin. Not a clue :)

    Well thats no help at all! I think ive narrowed it down to rvp, costa or dzeko. Hopefully mike duff is declared fit and i can avoid making the decision altogether, at least for another week anyway

    I've got the horrible feeling I'm going to wake up on Saturday with Robin Van Persie rather than Costa. Well RVP or Carroll :eek:
