    What was debuchy like last night? Did he play the full game?

    Clincy went up in value last night. Holding off on City players till after tonight though, cant afford any new injuries or suspensions.

    His new owners are going to get a shock when he spends half the Christmas on the bench...

    If your squad's in decent enough shape anyway, then it comes down to whether you think holding your wildcard till later in the season will net you 8 or more points.

    I'm 12K overall, but my squad is being held together with masking tape. I've barely had 11 players for the last 5 GWs. I'd say my wildcard will definitely worth more than 8 points to me though.

    A lot of people will be at least - 4 this week. It's a good week to have to take a - 8 IMO.

    Fair point. I think I'll just take the hit and hold out until January. Although transferring out Fabregas will cost me a lot of team value if I need to get him back in.

    Fabregas -> Hazard
    Aguero -> Pelle
    Boyd -> Yaya

    -4 hit, DONE!

    3 - 5 - 2 formation for the first time this season this weekend!

    Why Pelle over Austin or Bony?

    Well I'd imagine getting in a suspended Austin wouldn't be the best of moves...

    Why Pelle over Austin or Bony?

    I'd suspect from the fact he's playing 352 that he has the suspended Austin on the bench this week.

    I'd still go for Bony, Sahko or Benteke ahead of Pelle mind you.

    Yep Austin is red flagged on the bench.

    Went for Pelle as a one week punt! Scored last week and is playing Burnley so fancy him to pop up with another. Also i've got Siggy and NTaylor so didn't want to put all my eggs in the Swansea basket! Have Downing for West Ham cover too! Benteke doesn't factor into my plans, as good as he is the players behind him just aren't good enough to inspire me with confidence! Will most likely swap Pelle out again next week though!

    Unless there is crazy rotation. He has played (at a glance) 11 out of the 15 GWs, 10 of them for the full 90 minutes, the other for 77, and he is their top defender in terms of the FPL. If he gets through tonight, he has to be worth a punt for a couple of GWs at least.

    Kolarov was injured. Last season they shared a lot of the gametime.

    But all of this is dependent on Kolarov being injured, now that he's not I can see no reason why Clichy has pushed him down in the pecking order, Kolarov played more often last year and almost always in the so called Easier games. It was a punt on Clichy and it's worked out well but this isn't the time to be getting him in.

    How many of those weeks has Kolarov been injured though? He's fit now and is sure to play a game or two. It's not the really the best time to be taking a punt on a player who has been rotated throughout his time at City. I'd spend the extra million and go for Kompany.

    Any news on a return for him though.

    He's back. Was available for selection for Everton game I believe.

    Zabaleta has played as many games as well. Kolarov has not played since GW9.

    Whose to say either of them two will or wont feature?

    I'm not sure what this post means, maybe I've missed the context.
    Zabaleta is clearly first choice but Sagna provides back up for cup competitions and allows for very occasional rotation. For the left back spot it's a lot less clear cut but it seems to me that when both are available Kolarov is slightly ahead in the pecking order, last year Pellegrini used Clichy in the difficult matches because he's a better defender and doesn't get forward as often. Kolarov would be a weapon in FPL if he played every week.

    Would agree with the above. Kolarov will play against the likes of Hull and Leicester generally whereas Clichy will play against United or Chelsea.

    In my opinion no City defender is clearly guaranteed gametime except Kompany.
    Austin and siggy rotate perfectly I'm also going with a strong front 8 till Jan wildcard. It means benching austin this week ,siggy hull away ,austin arsenal away ,siggy liverpool away over the next 4 gw's. Chances are ill need my bench player anyway due to rotation for a couple of those weeks.

    I do like this tactic but benching Siggy to Hull away could end in tears. What's your planned front 8? Are you planning to have both Bony and Siggy?

    I'm gonna keep Austin on the bench this week and I've gone with Lukaku rather than Bony as my Aguero replacement with this weeks fixture in mind alone, I thought Lukaku has been quite good recently and when I went over it I decided to look on it as a one week thing, I may well transfer Lukaku for Bony next week if I have nothing pressing injury wise etc. I'm waiting on word from Pellegrini as I may well take a -4 to get Silva in for Milner, Silva's not my favourite FPL asset as he doesn't shoot often enough for my liking but I'd rate him much higher than Fab for the game.

    In previous posts, people were suggesting Kolarov over Clincy, as he was coming back from injury, and due to possible rotaion. Kompany was also mentioned, then I mentioned Zabaleta. At a glance, the three not including Kolarov have played a number of full games, and why would Kolarov be brought in ahead of them, or be rotated. Your responce, even though not quite getting my comment partly answers it.

    Still does not answer who Pellegrini might includ though.

    There are 38 league games. Clichy featured in 20 last year. Kolarov 30. I think those figures show they will be rotated.

    Kolarov probably featured in more because he sometimes pushed up and plays on the left side of midfield.

    Article from January 2014 in respect to last season:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/ben-mcaleer/man-city-left-backs_b_4547812.html
    Manager Manuel Pellegrini has Aleksandar Kolarov and Gaël Clichy available for selection in the position and has continuously rotated the pairing in the role in the backline, with the former making 11 starts at left-back and the latter 9. Pablo Zabaleta has the starting spot at right-back sown up, while Vincent Kompany is a guaranteed starter and Matija Nastasic, when fit, will often partner the Belgian in the heart of the back 4.

    I actually rated Lukaku as the best Aguero replacement for the next 5 weeks, I was short .2 for him so went Dzeko instead.

    Why would you transfer Dzeko in before tonight's match? I'm thinking of getting him in too but I want to see how he plays and make sure he's comes through the game without getting another injury.

    If Costa gets through tonight I'm looking at
    Haz sanchez siggy eriksen mirallas
    Costa austin ings
    Ings will be gone for Dzeko next week and mirallas to silva the following week. It will be a risk benching siggy but the alternative is to not have him or one of the other lads and have a cheapie . At least this way I have siggy for his home games and will have a strong player coming off the bench if need be. It's only a short term tactic and ill be reverting to a cheapie as soon as the wildcard is available. Not getting Bony as of yet but think he is a really good option.

    I've seen a few mention that Benteke is coming into form. 1 goal in 6 PL appearances this season. Only 10 goals in 26 PL games last year. Not really what I'd call form to be honest. Villa are fairly cat too, just 10 team goals in 15 games this season. Not one that I' be considering myself.

    He's a forum darling, I've never had him as I've never been blown away when I've watched him. For the moment I'd have him well down the pecking order of mid price strikers but 19 goals in 2012/13 proves he could be an option if he picks up a bit of form. But yeah, for some reason I think he gets more attention around here than he warrants.

    Agreed, if he can get back to his 12/13 form he's a good option. As of now, he's not at that level and there's nothing to suggest he's coming into that form. Albeit his goal against Palace was a beaut.

    He was very good against Leicester too, and could easily have added to his assist if not for some quality saves from Schmeichel. He looks sharp. On pens too. Westwood out injured is a blow in terms of the supply line tho
