He also has the ACON, I'm hoping that the fact that he's on 4 will mean that he won't be rested until/if he's suspended.

I pretty much have 3 choices
    1. get Costa in for aguero and following week silva in for eriksen. leaving spare change to swap Moore for someone like Hutton before Xmas .
I have hazard (and terry) and had decided not to get Costa back in as I would have been captaining aguero and 11 ml for a striker I would not captain for next 3\4 weeks was too much. even now I'll prob captain hazard next week BUT Costa's ownership......
    2. get benteke in for aguero and following week yaya in for eriksen . depending on how benteke performs tomorrow. This is a viable option but depends on a lot of variables ......
    3. Sell aguero for a cheap striker that rotates with Boyd ( hopefully Austin) and upgrade BOTH fellaini and eriksen to premium MIDs. needs more research
    and I need bed :D

    he looked very dangerous today
as he did last year for hull whenever he got game time that's why I signed him.
he is more than bench fodder. he is a viable option depending on opposition.
with the aguero injury im gonna do a bit of research to see of one of the cheaper strikers like Austin rotates with him and will load up on big hitters in midfield.
the big 3 up top of Rooney aguero costa did not go so well. they all missed a game more or less with injury or suspension.

I currently have Austin and it does appear that he rotates with Austin.

That said I have only ever used Boyd when one of players unexpectedly didn't play (Note: Boyd scored in both those games :)

Boyd will always be used in this way for me as I see Austin as more likely to score higher regardless of opposition plus I don't want the headache or frustration if one scores higher than the other and I've subbed them the wrong way around. I'm resigned to Boyd being bench fodder.

Be using him this week as I have Fab & Aguero who will need changing

hhhhmmmm Austin rotates.. interesting.........its only a short term plan for over Xmas when rotation kicks in. and with the way drogba is performing it will kick in for Costa !
food for thought . Georgie is a bit of a legend too :D

Have you actually look at any of these players or just see big names and think they are good.

Yaya - Although i have him, did not look like scoring today at all - playing too deep - Silvia back soon probably better option.

Dzeko - isn't yet match fit, if he plays midweek, will he be able to last 90 mins for next weekend - who knows.

    Clichy - Rotation risk.

Eriken - hot and cold type of player, who knows if he'll keep his place in the team.

12 point hit to get the above would be crazy imo.

Also why would you want to get rid of Sanchez?

Ace said it better than I could. Definitely take time before taking a hit and avoid over-reliance on any one team. Also hold onto Sanchez if possible...

Trying to avoid taking too many hits this season though...would it be more sensible just to get Costa and play Dummett away at Arsenal rather than taking a -4 for Yaya? Could get him in for the Palace game at home then.
I suppose it all depends on your team set up and it could make sense for you to wait a week. TBH id prefer fab over yaya. I have 3 chelsea fab haz and JT so I cant just do aguero to costa as I need to get fab out of my team to give me a free chelsea spot. Im going off the yaya idea anyway and may get mirallas in for fab as that would then leave me the money to upgrade ings to dzeko the week after.

Thinking about Aguero/Bolasie out Yaya/Giroud in for a -4. Giroud would be a bit of a risk but he should be starting ahead of Welbeck now he's back fit and has some nice games coming up.

Think the Chambers disciplinary issue might be somewhat overstated. Yes, he rushed to 5 yellows in the first 7 (only playing 10mins in one of those) but after his suspension in GW8 he only had one yellow in 6 games before yesterday. (I also thought one of the yellows was a bit harsh yesterday)

In those 6 games he scored 40 points or 6.666 per game returning 6 or more in 4/6 games.

Even omitting his 'freak' 18 pointer in GW10 his 22 points in the other 5 at 4.4points per game average is more than decent especially given his price. The biggest concern is of course how soon Debuchy will return.

City cover is essential looking at fixtures, Dzeko looks ideal but fitness issues,Yaya has 4 yellows but could steam roll teams over next 3/4 gameweeks.

Anybody know how hurt Jovetic is?

    Krul
    Chambers
    Fabregas
    Aguero

Will wait for news on Aguero I think. Maybe Fab to Hazard otherwise.

Was just going to post this!

6 of the easiest fixtures they could of asked for. There will be rotation risks. Have seriously been considering a punt on Lanpard. Dzeko will lead the front line so could be a straight swap with Aguero for me!

Just watchin motd... Forgetting about chambers yellows/red for a minute... you could say he was at fault for all four (one disallowed) of stoke's goals! Definitely the first he should have got his head to and Bojans disallowed goal he was beat much too easily! He was absolutely rubbish on the highlights! Even if he wasn't banned I'm pretty sure I'd be selling him after that display!

We will have to wait till after the CL games though which will likely mean we will suffer a fall of at least 0.2 I'd say.

Lampard would be a punt but the fear of wether he is starting or not would be a big drawback.

Milner is the one who's worthy of a punt:pac:
Seriously he played very well yesterday while Navas was shocking. He could continue to see quite a bit of playing time even when Silva returns, I was trying to offload him for a few weeks but I may hold him for now and see how it pans out.

I might be going 5-4-1 for the first time ever next week I think

He has produced the goods last 3 matches, could easily add him in for a cheap City double up.

Please forgive the TL;DR post, but there are so many variables for next week that I find myself needing to write my thoughts down.

Trying to prioritise transfers and figure out how to field XI next week with as few points hits as possible, but at the same time think towards the busy Christmas period.

    Players out next week:

    Chambers (suspended)
    Fabregas (suspended)
    Austin (suspended)
    Aguero (injured)

In addition to the above, I can't count on bringing in Moore for any of the above because he still isn't getting game time. So that leaves my team looking like this if no transfers were made:

    ______________Forster
    _____Naylor___Dummett___Wisdom
    Hazard___Sanchez___Eriksen___Boyd
    __________X___Rooney___X

So as things stand, I only need to take a 4-point hit to field XI. That is an attractive proposition because there are likely to be plenty of 8 and dare I say 12-point hits next week.

    Who to take out?

    1) Aguero is the obvious one if his injury is long-term as suspected. Bringing Diego Costa back is the stand-out choice given the home game against Hull. Dzeko is in the back of my head but I think I'd need to see him come back to full fitness and form before trying to manoeuvre him in.

    2) The above would make Fabregas a likely transfer out given i) his suspension and ii) not wanting three attacking Chelsea players long term. It would be with a heavy heart, but I think Hazard is the better long-term option. In order to retain some City attacking coverage (assuming I don't go for Dzeko, as above), the likely replacement candidates include Yaya and the returning Silva. By all accounts Yaya was lucky to get points yesterday, but as penalty taker he is an attractive option. Given their attractive fixtures, bringing Siggy back in is also tempting me.

    3) If I were to stick to a 4-point hit, that would mean keeping Chambers and Austin and benching them next weekend. I am keen to retain Austin, because he is in great form and has pretty good fixtures over the Christmas period. I would also like to keep Chambers if he can keep his place when Debuchy returns, but I am currently eyeing up Ben Davies of Spurs who is a snip at 4.4 now that he seems to be back in favour.

So, if I were to stick to a 4-point hit, I could line out next week as follows:

    ______________Forster
    _____Naylor___Dummett___Wisdom
    Hazard___Sanchez___Eriksen__Boyd___Yaya(Siggy)
    _________Diego Costa___Rooney

Or I could take an 8-point hit and line up as follows:

    ______________Forster
    _Davies___Naylor___Dummett___Wisdom
    Hazard___Sanchez___Eriksen___Yaya
    _______Diego Costa___Rooney

Essentially, it comes down to whether Davies @ -4 is a good idea over starting George Boyd (who stung me midweek when I had a similar decision to make).

The above is mostly for my own reference, but if anyone made it through all that and has any suggestions I won't say no either :o

Depending on how long Aguero is out for, I'm thinking of bringing in Bony as a replacement.

Is Costa's price likely to rise soon with people swapping Aguero for him?

Got him in a few weeks ago, he's an in form player in an in form team. Decent fixtures coming up too.

Anyone doing some detailed analysis on who to bring in for super kun??

I don't like dzeko as a player and he's not 100% so I won't be bringing him in deffo for at least a few weeks.

Rooney is an option alright but i will watch Monday nights game and if he is playing deeper which he has sometimes this season I personally wouldn't see the point of bringing him in.

Don't personally rate giroud or welbeck , wouldn't be able to trust them and also most have Sanchez and I see him being arsenals most likely source of goals all season.

    Most already have Costa

Bony interests me but most would already have siggy so I wouldn't be inclined to have 2 players from a team such as Swansea in my starting line up.

The option that most appeals to me after a look at his fixtures is lukaku. He has a decent 6/7 weeks which will bring us up to the Jan WC and could always offload him then. I know he hasn't been prolific in an under performing Everton side and I don't like these big cumbersome strikers myself to watch but I think he could well hit a patch of form and should of scored only for a wonder save from hart at the etihad.

Other options include ings cisse Austin lambert berahino sahko valencia.Austin the best option there but large percentage of people would already own him . the other few mentioned are cheap but wouldn't be sure about any of them scoring regularly so IMO its best to avoid

My team is an absolute disaster.

McCarthy (GK), Elliot (GK), Duff, Chambers and Aguero all looking like they'll be out for next week.
Then throw in Chadli not starting games for Spurs too!

Have 2 FTs thank god but considering an 8 point hit to sort all this crap out.

Problem is that he's back for the Liverpool away match which I wouldn't want to start him. There's a plum QPR at home on Boxing Day but who knows if Debuchy will start that anyway. After we went 3-0 down, I started thinking about whether I would sell Clyne or him for Terry. The red card then made my decision easy.

Has Clichy left back locked down for City now?

no, Kolarov is back and sagna is likely to get gametime during the xmas period at zabalatas expense.

Probably not, imo. He's been playing recently, but Kolarov was injured. Before Kolarov was injured they seemed to be playing every second games. I can see Clichy sitting out a few games over christmas.

Could be worse news on Aguero than City feared. Hearing it might well be ACL. :(

Even though I'm a United fan,I like Aguero as a player,be a shame if it's true about the injury.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Done Fabregas to Hazard last night. His yellow card made the decision very easy but now I have nothing left in the bank.

1 FT left to deal with Chambers, Aguero, Austin & Chadli

I suppose I just have to hope Chadli gets more gametime & Boyd can cover Austin. Chambers needs to go but I reckon selling Aguero will have to happen first if the rumours about ACL are true. All poor alternatives though...

Forgot I already have Terry, Fab and Hazard when I posted...too much wine :o So a straight swap for Aguero to Costa being out of the question, I'm now considering Rooney. Will see how he plays tomorrow night but he has the advantage over Costa of being on pens and being almost guaranteed 90 mins every week. Never liked having Dzeko in my team, he's always been inconsistent for me. But I do need City cover for their nice fixtures and Yaya makes sense until he goes to the afcon. I had originally planned on going without Costa until the Jan wildcard and reassessing then. But this Aguero injury has thrown a spanner in the works.

Unfortunately if RVP remains in team then he is the penalty taker not rooney
