Why? Skews things in what direction? Just another thing to consider, which when considered leads to a better decision than one that doesn't consider it.

    Consider.

Good decisions are subjective. Captain choices just don't always work out. Just too much emphasis is on captaincy i.m.o., and i include the effect bp's can have within that. That one player has a little bit too much power for my liking. It's a squad game after all.

I read on FFS that wellbeck has outscored costa since gw5

I have Benteke(c) stuck in my mind for the weekend. Then it comes down to losing Welbeck or Bony for him and Welbeck has tougher fixtures and more rotation risk imo.

The biggest problem about these midweek matches is that they seem to give Jeff Stelling the nights off :(

Sergio. Have you missed all my moaning the past 24hrs :)

Gonna sit back, relax and watch the lads on SSN now. Hoping for a big points haul from Aguero captain and a goal/assist and clean sheet from Baines wouldn't go amiss.

    COME ON SUNDERLAND!

But hey, if we're going to lose, I sure hope Aguero has plenty of involvement :o

I dunno, regardless of whether good decisions are subjective or not (over the course of 38 weeks I'd be inclined to say they're the ones that work out although that obviously requires the benefit of hindsight) but I just don't see the problem in double the weighting for picking the best performing player of the week.

Those who get it right, flourish, while those who get it wrong, suffer, like in all decisions in the game.

hopefully sunderland get a goal to make Yaya and Aguero angry, and that spurs get a goal or two to keep the league interesting, Arsenal conceding would also be nice with Sanchez getting a goal. Obv with all these goals, some team needs to keep a clean sheet - Everton can do this job - scoring defender this week can also be Baines.

    :D:D

its not the double captaincy points i'm arguing against per say, i thought i made that pretty clear. it's the added effect that bp's have to that

They're separate things. When you pick your captain, if you're doing it well, you're going to go for someone who will likely get 3 bonus.

I honestly don't understand the gripe.

Oooh wellbeck should have that on target at least

Yeah he did but that's a bit of a ridiculous point selecting the data that fits without any context (why GW5 particularly? Because Costa had a blinder in GW3 & 4?).

I think it'd be more sensible to make the same comparison since Costa returned from injury (GW10). Welbeck leads 21 pts to 16 before tonight's game.

Just repeating something I read on another site. Since gw 4 when Welbeck signed for arsenal is probably a more relevant stat

he is an intriguing short term prospect ......him rather than eriksen would allow me yaya AND another premium mid

Bad miss from Saints, highlight so far was Clyne's tackle on Sanchez, lovely player.

Yeah it was not a personal dig, I just found odd the "since GW5" thing.

Anyway, I guess the point is Welbeck's a decent option upfront no matter how you look at the stats ;).
