If you did nothing else but pick the poll topper (both FFS & boards) as your captain choice you will not go far wrong over the course of the season. Risks may work once or twice but they are big losers over 38 GW's IMO

On the point of always following the Boards poll for captain choice. I agree that it will rarely send you astray but there will come the times that if you want to make ground, you'll have to take some risks. This week was a week that I thought Hazard was well poised to score well and given Aguero was facing a defence that I rated strongly, I thought he could easily blank. Obviously that hasn't quite worked out, but I do take solace in knowing I had a strong team that I was confident of scoring well regardless of who I captained and that only 33% of people own Aguero and not even all of those players would have captained him.

Anyway, I'm delighted with the week. I got to roll the dice with a captain choice that could have been inspired and still scored strongly with 74 even after it not paying off.

Roll on the weekend.

I'll probably bottle it when I see the poll numbers on here and on FFS. But Leicester are dire and will be without Morgan and it would be so glorious if it did come off and and :pac:

For sure, but a calculated risk every once in a while can see you shoot up the rankings. Although going without Costa might be enough risk for me......

Well that's what I thought... that going with FFS captain poll was some kind of immunity for a stand-out crap performance.

But over the last 5 GWs, either the stand-out captain epically failed or there were several stand-out candidates and I always ended up at the wrong end of things. 5 disasters in a row. My worse run in 4 years playing the game .

I hadn't updated my team on FFFix, when I logged in it my score as 88 for this week. That's what I would have if I hadn't completely missed this GW... And that 88 was only fielding 10 players. Oh to be a casual again...

My "activity" cost me 20 points.

Started the week at 37k and only dropped to 39k... Not bad with RVP capt I suppose. Missed opportunity for a nice rise though.

Very disappointed to only be up 23k to 165k.

My good GWs are not good enough to overcome my crap ones... I feel it's gonna be a very very tough season. So many things I'm unhappy with in my nonetheless decent squad.

Why? What words should we use to describe it, then?

For some of us 70-80 points means red arrows, for others 60 is good enough.

He probably means something like:

I got 70 this week, brings me to 790 overall and 2nd in my league.

In the real world I got 76 points, up to 796 in total, top of 2 leagues by a small margin and 91st in the boards one :-)

Up to 21k. I didn't think my score would bring me up that much.

Ended up with 88(-4) earns me my highest gw rank of 7,900. Overall up from 62k to 31k which puts an end to a few weeks of red arrows.

Well my 88 meant I finished 7355 for the week PB, up to 27105 overall a climb of 42000 places and have climbed 490,000 places in 10 weeks. Delighted, so much so that I'm not too dissapointed that Everton let me down for a seven team accumulator and that Chelsea and City are top of the table, thank you FF!

Cheers, up to 7k from 25k as well. Everything went right last night, Azpil in for Clyne worked beautifully, Lukaku, Sanchez, Hazard, even Sterling and Milner came up trumps of sorts. If Bony had scored half the points he should have it would have been my best non DGW ever.

I've gone from 860k to 15k in 6 gws. When you are on a bad run you just need to keep the head and back yourself to make the right decisions.

84 but so easily could have been 90 if I hadn't bottled starting Boyd. That said, I just can't be disappointed with that score.

Aguero (c), Sanchez, Hazard, Azpilicueta, Chambers and Taylor with my main contributions this week.

Up to ~1k overall now which is the highest position I've ever occupied I think. If I could maintain in or around that score until I get to the January wildcard I'd be delighted.

It's all relative as I've said before on here.

A net 64 points might not be a disaster for you but to me it's 15-20 points down on most (not all) of the top players here, people that I'm trying to stay within touching distance of. If I stay within touching distance of these it'll mean I'll win or come very close to winning my PL's

It was more or less red arrows all around for me and ground lost. You can call it what you like but to me it's not been a good GW. A mini disaster.

Absolutely delighted, Aguero (c) worked a treat. I rose nearly 3k places to 2.3k which I think is my highest ranking since I started playing FF.

Down 200 places overall to 2.9k with 75(-4). Happy with that considering I don't own Sanchez or Hazard.

Still brilliant when compared with last season, or any season to be perfectly honest. I could grumble, and I probably did last night but lessons have been learned. Oh and Yaya blanked which is always a good day in Prodston Towers :pac:
