I hate study weeks and exams :o all I ever heard about in secondary school is that the leaving cert is the hardest exams you'll do and that college is piss easy. I'm still waiting for this piss easy time :pac:

Ah at least I will have 3 weeks off for Christmas I won't know what to do. I'm going to spend a good day cleaning the car on Christmas week anyway it's filthy at the minute and with all the trips to cork in the next few weeks it would be a waste of time to clean it.

Seen a bit of a weird thing there.

Walking past a nice red golf gti mk7 142 reg I was admiring it as I walked past. But You know the anti theft device on older cars it's a bar that clamps of the top of the steering wheel and sits on the dash so you can't turn the steering wheel. This is obsolete on newer cars as they have that lockable steering when the keys aren't in it. This 142 golf had the above steering bar on it like wtf. It made no sense. Trying to stop it being stolen but I can't see how it's any benefit on such a new car.

apparently them steering locks are extremely easy to bypass.

i used to use one in my starlet as visual deterrent. it suggested that even if they successfully got in and got the car started, they would still need another key or a very strong drill to get the car mobile...

Used one in my bluebird. I'm sure it has deterred a few thieves who thought it wasn't worth the bother.

I've heard they can be bypassed alright. But with no key you'd do well to break into a golf, stop the alarm, stop the immobiliser, start the car, break the steering lock and then drive off. I recon almost all newer cars are just stolen with the keys.

Yeah I reckon so too. Usually the owners keys unless it's a BMW or Range Rover.
Maybe make it more difficult to push/tow/ manouevre onto a flatbed.

Long shot here lads, by any chance do any of you know anyone who works in the passport office in Dublin?

Basically I was expecting my passport to arrive in the post today, I called the office and was on hold for 45 minutes before I got through to someone . They told me there is a backlog and I might be able to go in and collect it on Thursday. I'm flying out on the Friday at lunchtime so I'm literally trying everything...

Hah, are any of you around Clare (or even near) not doing this evening and want to? My hotel has a bar and I will buy someone a pint or two to stick around :pac:

Working away from home and living in a hotel? Ugh, I don't miss those days. Spending most of your evenings in a hotel bar gets boring fairly quickly

While overtaking earlier, 3rd gear full chat.

I was close to a parked car.

I set off the alarm :D

    Thank you straight pipe

You're less than an hour from galway city if you wanted to go for a browse around. Always something to do there. Not the best time of the year to be stuck in that part of clare

Ah yeah, its just dead quiet, nothing to do at all. I could head up to Galway, for the spin more than anything else.

I used to bring my Apple TV when I traveled for work. Room service with a few beers and binge watch movies or tv series.

Netflix has come in dead handy - I watched two seasons of Sherlock over two days, 90 minute episodes each :o, a few months back down here.

If I was traveling within the country as much as you I'd definitely pack a PS4 or something. Was difficult to bring one to the states every month though :pac:

Do not envy you travelling, glad to be rid of it. Everyone hears you travel and thinks it's great, gets bloody boring fast.

    I don't have a ps4 but I'm pricing ps3 prices online at the moment...

A lot of people do comment on how great it must be, but it truly really is not, its anything but.

If anyone meets a saab estate travelling at the speed of light on the M7 that'll be pickles, he's departed here :)

Simon I've always thought a job like that would be an adventure but from what your saying it's changing my opinion rather fast!
