Did In take a wrong turning? Who are all these happy, kind people?? hang on, there is something in my eye...

I think that you're doing all that you can and you've made her life so so so much better. I wouldn't report it as the dog will suffer for it. Other than the dog 'disappearing' suddenly to a very good home away from the area where she'd never be seen by the owners I can't really think of anything you could do differently.

I'll admit I've allowed myself to daydream about this!

I've said it before and I'll say it again - that annoys me too - people who don't read thread titles like this one and divert to into a social outlet for chitter chatter. Moan please. Show your annoyance. Be contankerous and stop the niceties.:(

Are you trivially annoyed by it? At least you have something else to post now.

They are already bemused by us and our "fascination with the beast" and think we are mad, but they tolerate us as they like having people "keeping an eye" on the place. It's not really that I care what they think, but my reluctance to report comes from my fear that it might end up worse for the dog - she'd still be in the same situation but with nobody calling to her.

So what do they have the 'beast' for exactly? Poor thing :( but she is luckier than some to have you at least. I get where you are coming from. Without the strong laws to back it up, any visit from the animal welfare people could be very risky. Once hse has shelter and food, I doubt they will do much.

And the bigger risk still would be that while they might call and persuade them to surrender her, no doubt in time to come another would replace her:mad:

She is basically just a barking machine. They want something that barks when anyone walks onto their property. She is purely functional in their eyes. It's very sad. I have seen the inner puppy in her. After a number of months coming out with us, I started to see shades of playfulness in her :) Animal welfare laws are dire in Ireland and you are right - a kennel and fresh water and you can pretty much do whatever else you like after that :(

My friend stopped talking to me about three weeks ago.
She messaged me last night asking if I would be her friend again.
I said I'm not even mad and then she turned it all back on me telling me to forget it that she was only trying to sort it and in future she wouldn't bother.

She text my other friend two weeks ago to bitch about my attitude problem and doesn't think I know that.

If I couldn't get them for the way they treat her, I'd be doing all sorts of subtle stuff just to make myself feel better;) Pizza deliveries/Signing them up to Scientology and other mailing lists. I'm not sure I'm evil/clever enough to come up with anything else but I'm sure others could!

I discovered today that my daughter says the word 'Kitchen' very close to how she says 'Kitten'.
She today has decided that she wants a kitchen off Mr. Clause. She was on a check up visit to Temple St. today and every staff member had to ask her what she was getting for Chistmas. "Ah, a cute little kitten" was the responce after she said a kitchen. Now she wants a kitten and a kitchen. She is getting neither.

The gentleman you quote annoyed me so much and do often I added him to ignore ....needs to go with the flow and of course we recover from being annoyed when we vent and then go on to happier things. Called progress and I refue to cultivate annoyance for the sake of it,

Eldest two kids are going through a phase of thinking that bum and poo jokes are hilarious. I can confirm that they are not, especially when you have been hearing them constantly for the past 4 weeks!

Middle child went on her first playdate the other day. When she got home I asked her what they had done, expecting to be regaled with tales of colouring, dancing and sneaky biscuits!

    Instead I got:

'Sinead did a poo in the toilet and I looked at it. And we did a bit of colouring'

God only knows what she was coming out with at her friend's house. I'd strongly wager that she won't be invited back!!!

Because Santa Clause has already gone out and spent a fortune on what she wanted last week :)

They are elasticated stockings that constrict blood flow to the calves and prevent deep vein thrombosis.

Not near as exciting as the name suggests! :D

I live amid fields and the nearest house is about 1/4 mile away .....they have multiple dog they left chained up in the open field away from their house. At night the din in bad weather.. through double glazing etc. Heartrending howling... I alerted all the agencies etc etc and wrote a letter too that made it very clear they were breaking pollution laws and it worked, for quite a while.. now when the dogs start i go out and yell HOY which echoes and they get stopped. They will have had visits already

BUT this is not the same as your situation Yours is much harder.

People these days are just impatient, and it's always about "the principle". I regularly get people calling to say "I bought such and such off this guy on eBay yesterday, I sent him an email last night and he hasn't replied! What can you do?"

I can tell you to whist yourself and wait.
