My annoyance is laying in bed, warm, when he comes home and starts ringing the doorbell to be let in, when there's a spare key behind the massive flower pot by the door, and a key on his bunch of car keys.

Tom don't be hating on me being an 80s child!

pfft you only bearly 80s (if your 1 in 1990)....ive seen twice as much of the 80s
*I may look awlful tick here if Wikipedia is inaccurate about mary robinson:pac:

Assholes out on our land shooting. Even overlooking the fact they're tresspassing, anything living on or flying over our land is entitled to do so in peace, without thugs out with guns and dogs torturing them. 3 lads out with guns and dogs this afternoon, I told them to get off the land but I don't know if they did or not, they were kind of sneery.
Should have called the garda, they take a dim view of people shooting where they don't have permission and I say that as a liscenced owner. People like that give the rest of us a bad name.

Anyway, laundry, hate the stuff, what a way to spend a Sunday :(

We had this problem a few weeks ago, 5 or 6 fellas on horses and 3 on foot with a pack of 10 dogs (that I saw). I was up the fields with our 4 and just managed to get them all walking in the other direction before the pack of dogs came bursting through the ditch at the top of the field. Our GSD bitch is a very nervous anxious dog, she wasn't right for the rest of the day.
These hunts have previously wrecked loads of the ditches and fencing going between all of our fields.
We've 60 acres at the back of our house and all the land is adjoined by the neighbour's land so they just tell the gardai that they weren't on our land and that the dogs were just following a scent, doing no harm etc. and they can't be any better controlled, that they don't know land boundaries.
I don't know much about hunting dogs but I'm always terrified they'll get a hold of one of the dachshunds and/or one of the GSDs will get in a scrap with the pack and there would be war then. They're usually around every 3-4 weeks on a sunday morning so I end up keeping the dogs in when they're around, which is not fair either.

We know the people involved and they're so so snooty, not locals, they live in town.
They make me laugh, noses in the air but need to trespass on someone's land without permission because they've no land of their own. Yeah, way above me ;) :P

Condition of firearms licensing IIRC, permission of a landowner to shoot there? Used to be, anyway.

Just curious, but would it be legal for the landowner who objects to the hunt crossing their land, providing that they themselves are a licenced gun owner, to be doing some 'target practice' when these mounted hunts are planning on crossing the land? I'm guessing that the noise of shotgun fire in close proximity to where they're planning to hunt would upset the horses and the hounds, thus making the land a less attractive area for them.;)

Happened here too a couple of weeks ago! My boyfriend absolutely cursed them out of it. Climbed right over a gate with a no trespassing sign. Absolute cheek of them!

I know that you have to get permission from two landowners to shoot on their land to apply for a gun license.

Where our land is situationed, it's pretty much all together, and the boundaries are pretty clear. We were out on the quad earlier when we came across them so no doubt they do this more often, but they're not seen as its not near the house. Didn't think of calling the cops, but my brother will keep an eye out next weekend.

Stupid head cold is driving me nuts, caught it from Mr Pumpkinseeds, and to think at first I thought he had a case of man flu. My nose is getting flaky and raw and I've got backache from sneezing. Blooming cat also needs vet trip today.:(

Aye. I like guns, and had a few over the years. I wouldn't fire one at a living thing though, unless the cunnox really pissed me off. ;)

I'm not allowed by law to fire at the living things that annoy me, trivially or otherwise.

Open a 12-bore shell, empty out the birdshot and fill it with sea-salt. Wakes 'em right up. :pac:

Would this make more sense if it said "empty out the bird****"?:(

Parents who appear to be in a constant state of irritability when dealing with their children.

Particularly the more stubborn ones, who fail to see that it's their approach that's lacking, and more likely than not is the cause of any negative escalation.

And when that happens, 'You're bold' appears to be the only conclusion ever made, helping them to further their denial of any inadequacy.

People using the term "booze up"! I always start twitching when this is used...

Or the use of the term "swifties" - just die. First of all, it's not a word. Secondly, you just sound like a sap. Are you attending a "how to be cool" class later? Is that why you can't stay for normal drinks? hah? Swifties. The new clap. "Oh yer wan over there? Terrible dose of the swifties she has".I'll give you swifties - swifties across the back of the head.

Waiting to get my hair cut while she tuts at me not having it cut for two years, you'd swear it was her hair.

People who don't keep their dogs on a leash at the vet. My cat does not appreciate your dog trying to climb up at him in his carrier, and don't smile at me as if you're dog trying to get at my cat is cute, it isn't and is highly likely to result in me inserting my foot in your ass.

I remember her death as I'd just come out of hospital after ovarian surgery and couldn't sleep because of pain, so I got up during the night to watch some tv the night it happened. I couldn't believe she was dead, never liked her though, she always seemed very manipulative.

My immediate reaction was that doubtless other people died that night eg someones beloved granny, who were far more vital than she was.. I am not one for celebrity worship. Especially not UK "royalty" I am English by the way.

TA when it's the wrong time for the food you'd like. I woke up thinking I'd love a bowl of soup. I'd still like soup but it's not even 11 yet.

If you feel like soup, have soup..I often eat unusual things at odd times... soup is always right

She was as vital as anyone else, no more and no less. I remember thinking what a stupid, horrible, unnecessary accident taking the life of a young woman like that and leaving those two youngfellas without their mam. And what a lonely, miserable and terrifying thing it was to die in the back of that Mercedes while being photographed by ghouls. :(
