It's a good price but the postage is a bit steep.

The funny part is that Toby is a pushover and usually bossed around by the other 3, not when it comes to the bed though, when it comes to the bed he's found his inner growl this week and won't let the others near it, well he'll tolerate Poppy, so long as she behaves herself.:D

I'm blessed that our 2 cats get along so well. Though to be fair, I was fairly deliberate in choosing the new cat last year, as one who was likely to be a good match. Still awfully lucky it worked out, especially as it was another girl. :o

They are quite happy to curl up one on either side of me at night, and have no problem taking turns in all the other sleeping places :D Luckily for them, new doggy unexpectedly turned out to be a husky cross as she grew, so is much too warm a person to want to snuggle up at night too, and is much happier panning out on the floor :p

We had a break out last night. All three cats sleep in the utility at night, Dude in his crate, Peach and Cream loose around the room. One, or both, have now discovered how the door handle works and decided it would be a brilliant idea to visit my dad in bed at 5 this morning. He was rudely awoken by Peach chomping down on his toe when he moved it under the duvet. Now my dad wouldn't be one to think cats belong in the house let alone in bedrooms so he was less than impressed after removing the two offenders back to the utility to wake up again with peach snuggled in beside him and Cream happily asleep on the mat in the ensuite. He walked out the door this morning muttering something along the lines of "feckin cats..need a round door handle.." So I think some DIY will be going on this evening :D all I can say is thank God Dude didn't break out of his crate or I would have woken up to a house covered in poop, a very angry father and one cat less. But my dude is a good boy and stayed asleep while the other two were on their adventures!

Thanks so much for this :-) our puppy is arriving in January I was able to pick up some of the bits and pieces I needed on this website for cheaper than I could find on maxi zoo , amazon etc - and that's before you take in to account the 10% off and free delivery! Delighted :-)

Huge row just kicked off here between Elly and Tara over a cuddly toy!

Tried to separate them, but my son tried to help and I was so worried about him being hurt, I dropped my guard and got bitten!! No skin broken thankfully though.

Son got bawled out for getting involved when he knows better, and the 2 dogs have been separated. Cue lots of ear piercing puppy barking.

When my two got into Serious fights I got the sweeping brush and pushed them apart, pushed one into the kitchen and one out the door. Much better than using my hands! You're son just panicked i wouldn't "beat" him up about it. It's really scary when it happens, thank God it's only happened twice with my two.

I'll tell you one thing that I have found has always stopped a fight in my experiences... smashing a metal dish of some sort on the floor lol... you can tell I have experience with that. :o

Usually me shouting, or clapping would stop them enough to separate. Not this time though! I've a lovely bruise on my thumb, and as we've only one crate at the minute, they're taking turns!! Uncivilised!!!!

Is there any point in complaining to zooplus about my parcel being bashed up? The trays of wet food smashed 2 boxes of treats, one of my SS presents is now stained and smells of the treats and another SS present (bag if treats) is burst! :(

Complain, and send them these photos. We got a delivery from them a few months ago with, I think, 18 dented tins as well as some cans that had leaked. They refunded us the cost of the damaged goods when we emailed them the photos.

I wouldn't hesitate to complain tk... especially as the SS stuff is affected in a way that can't be remedied :(
My last delivery (and I wonder is it Zooplus or DPD's fault) was a bit rattled too, with dented cans, but I let it go. In retrospect, it's not a good idea to not complain because then they can't remedy it!

I don't think it's just DPD. We get ours delivered with an Post and it's the same thing with dented cans. I think it's happening because of the bad packaging at Zooplus's end. The boxes look fine when they arrive, no damage is obvious until the box is opened, so maybe they're just fecking it around the place when it's being packed.

This is the first box that's been completely wrecked like that since they switched to DPD. With GLS they were often ripped and bashed around....but GLS would tape them up around the edges - maybe they were expecting them to rip?
They have 2 trays of cans (6 x 800g) rattling around a box that's too big - they should have sent it in two separate boxes! All of the air bubble things were burst too. Thank god I drove around to the goods entrance in work instead of carrying it/wheeling it back up to the office or there would have been a trail of dog biscuits up the corridor! :p
Going to complain to them now.. especially since i just added up my orders for the year :eek::eek: ...€876.56 holy crap!

Sweet baby jebus... you've just prompted me to go look at my own :eek::eek:
    I wasn't too precise but we're looking at €1400 :eek::eek::eek:
Then again, that's for three dogs, and I got a good few bits and pieces for the rescue dogs too. But still....:eek::eek:

It's Lucy's fault - she was like a bottomless pit when she was a baby lol so I was buying loads of Rocco Jnr! :D

Jesus I thought mine was bad at nearly €400

Definitely complain, I complained earlier in the year when i got a load of badly dented tins and a burst bottle of salmon oil spilled all over everything, got everything damaged refunded to the exact cent including the 3% off for over €100 discount. Was still a little bit peeved because I lost a whole bottle of salmon oil and I wouldn't have been able to reorder because of the minimum €29 order, would have prefered if they replaced everything.

Have Charlie since mid-2008 and he's never been bothered about going upstairs in that time. Would always have had to carry him up the stairs to put him in the bath no matter how much coaxing to get him to climb the stairs. For some reason this evening he's 'learned' how to climb the stairs and he's up and down like an excited child. He found a bag of SS presents on my floor, thankfully someone intervened before he could pull everything out. Probably not great for his luxating patella to be running up and down stairs though.

He looks like the bunny hopping pug going down them :P

Lordy, youse are all making me feel like a neglectful pet-owner  I go through about 3 (well maybe 2 1/2) large bags of high-quality cat food a year from zooplus. Other than that, we get by on raw food wherever the best source seems, and sheep tripe, bull pizzles and straw pellet litter from Maxi Zoo.

We use a big box of Lola's old toys in rotation for the pup; for the cats, apart from the odd present from their aunty in Germany, toys are whatever comes in as packaging etc: they have a few cat trees, but seem to prefer our furniture for acrobatics really.

Even the collar we use for Nyssa is one Lola wore for years: it started out as a really great one, but is on its last legs. Well, I hate the ones in the shops, and am getting a nice lady in the UK to make us a new one, but, in the meantime...

So yeah, youse are all really great pet owners, with your 1000 quid zooplus bills, and are really showing me up :o I wouldn't be surprised if somone is on me doorstep any day, to rescue Nyssa and the cats from the sheer neglect

Ah, in fairness ferretone, that's two big working dogs I'm feeding and equipping (they need a lot of gear and replacement gear when I do stupid things like leave their training leads on the ground of the car park... Sheesh!), and one little dog with expensive tastes, and providing good quality food for fosterers caring for sick rescue dogs, and stuff like warm coats, snugglesafes, inflatable collars etc for the rescue dogs.
Though it doesn't include that one of the big dogs (40kg) is also three-quarters raw fed!
So when it's broken down, for what it is it's not actually that much!

I was talking to a guy at work yesterday who has three great danes. He buys 2 15kg bags of dry food a week, plus they get big bags of bones and scraps. A 2kg bag does me a month

Wow, that really is a lot of stuff to be equipping, although I suppose the fact that you are now working with your dogs makes a difference too. Also, I'm amazed that one of your GSDs is 40 kgs. I'd thought they were both female? Perhaps I remembered wrong there, or perhaps the working lines do breed females of that size? Clearly I have no idea :o

My 6-month-old girl was suddenly getting a little tubbier than I liked, so I realised she had reached the 80% stage already, and cut back her food. I'm very happy with her shape now, and she's 20 kg, so I'm thinking she will be around 25 kg full-grown, which is smaller than I was thinking a few weeks ago. Sort of half-way between Husky and GSD size, though not halfway towards your GSDs obviously :p

Still feeling vaguely guilty that I'm not giving her all the things I should be, compared to all the great dog owners on here though  I'm afraid she'll have to make do, as bills have to be paid, and there won't be much profit for her to be turned out on her ear, particularly as I've not heard DBB, tk123, Boomerang, or anyone like that is on the lookout for a GSD/Husky cross :D

I don't think anyone is in a position to criticise another owner who's doing the best they can with what they've got :)
If every dog had a home like this, the world would truly be a better place.
Yes, my 40kg GSD is female. She's huge, but comes from a line of famously big, strong, long dogs. It's only when she stands next to the rather small other GSD (26kg) that I realise how big she is! But eats surprisingly little for her size.

She sounds fantastic! Would really love to meet her some day :)

Edited to add: and obviously I don't really think Nyssa is deprived. She is a very happy young dog, and what the budget might not readily provide, our local environment does in spades. She gets to have brilliant runs within easy reach, and also opportunity to train, learn and socialise in more challenging and exciting circumstances, without having to travel all that much further.

Is that fresh tripe ferretone or dried from maxi zoo?

Anyways I had a quick look back through the orders it's mostly joint supplement ( a £49 tub lasts around 2 months now that they both get it), treats bougth in bulk that we still have loads of, wet puppy food (to supplement the raw when had one small freezer), a few bags of dry food for treats, 3 toys :o, and a few accessories. I'd say €150 is stuff for my internet shy friend lol!!

(I'm wide awake from someone or something banging a bin maybe? out on the road on and off for the last hour )

We thought Toby had a little scab on his head, turns out it was an abcess. Given that he got it at the end of the second week of being on a 2 week antibiotic injection for his last fight related abcess I'm hoping that by cleaning it twice a day with salty warm sterile water that he won't need another trip to the vet. It's draining nicely so fingers crossed.

Would Thornit help with the abscess?

I don't know what's come over me lately but I'm getting so so broody for a puppy. Anytime I see one pop up on any rescue facebook pages I just get a total longing! I think its made worse knowing its not going to happen as long as I'm living at home..which hopefully won't be too much longer! I think I should start working on my uncle, I'm sure his dog would just love some company and sure if he ever needs a puppy sitter... :P

I've never heard of Thornit. Thankfully it's draining and it's on the side of his forehead so there's only sparse hair over it so we can see it. I'm going to clean it with warm water with a bit of diluted hibiscrub in it twice a day for today and tomorrow and if there's no real improvement I'll take him to the vet on Tuesday. Getting antibiotics into him is impossible, no matter how tempting the food or how stinky the food is he just knows it's in there and refuses to eat it.

Actually, you just reminded me that I have a Johnsons antiseptic powder for pets in the cupboard. I bought it a month ago and forgot all about it.
