How did you guys find gearing for MC?

Running normal's or just luck from world drops?

Normals to 610, Few heroics and you'll be 620+. Nagrand quests alone will have you in or around 610 anyway.

Pity, the dwarven bunker is one of the mandatory items i think for leveling and for raiding due to the bonus roles. I dont think the other items sync up well with it.

Take for example the guarenteed level 100 weapon you get which is 610 ilvl, when i did it i got an upgrade of 20 ilvl so i now have a 630 ilvl weapon.

Leaving the Warmill for last - since it's something I'd like for the long term, ie. - them seals.

Getting everything else in the mean time.

What zone were you lot in when you hit 100?

I'm 95 atm and still in Gorgrond. It feels like I'll be 100 without having gone near all zones. I've only ran two instances.
DPS in Slag Mines and tanked Iron Docks which I really enjoyed.

Looking forward to doing a full MC again. Glad it's running until 6th of Jan too so I don't feel the need to rush through any content.

re subbed, first time since 2010.

played war a bit as fury, went from 80-82, was a bit meh. might try him as prot and just tank through cata instances.

the hunter was good fun, bm, went from 83-85 in about 2 hours lol.

in pandaland now, looks alright. no flying.. grrr

not gonna buy expansion till i decide if i wanna come back casually to end game

I was level 100 having only done Frostfire Ridge [SMV], Gorgrond and half way through Spires of Arrak, haven't done Talador or Nagrand then yet.

But I've been grabbing all the rares and treasures, and dig sites and Bonus Objectives, I came across in each zone... and that does contribute a fair chunk of the XP ;)

And with regards to MC --- I wish you good luck. 40m is not suited for PUGs AT ALL. You'd be sitting there for 4 hours, doing nothing but trash and bosses that drop absolutely nothing till you reach Ragnaros.

You'll always have to endure with:

    - Griefers that intentionally cause raid wipes pulling everything. This is worst when they're a class that can put themselves out of combat, so they'd immediately pull again... making it near impossible trying to kick them.
    - Tanks that treat it like a 5man instance, chain pulling and causing wipes...
    - DPS that do nothing but dps, NEVER removing debuffs on people... Mages are the absolute WORST culprits that never remove the horrid curses you got in that raid.
    - AFK'ers leaving themselves on follow, and there's a LOT of them...

    So yeah, have fun with that... >_<;

If Blizzard were smart, I hope for everyone's sake and sanity that they'd just place people immediately before Ragnaros on raid entry...

have they removed xp from low level BGs or something? fancied leveling my priest from 60-70 purely through BGs only to find myself getting 0 xp despite winning and topping healing charts with plenty of HKs too.

What are you guys focusing on for wod ? pve or pvp?

PVE. Really cannot be arsed with PVP.

Last time I tried was before the sunwell.

I enjoy the occasional Battlegrounds session, but never Arena. So that with some Ashran (as long as it's balanced) will tide me over in between raids.

I always roll a toon for each, Rogue pvp and paladin pve.

Bit of everything I guess but regarding pve, I'm gonna go back to tanking. Used to love it back in the day and apparently WoD has changed the instances to not be as easy as they used to. Don't know how true that is but we'll see.

PvP, I'm not sure what I'll use. I used my free character boost on a rogue. I've never had a max level rogue and they are supposed to be the "pvp class". Would take a while to learn it I guess.

After that I'll prob do some Achievement hunting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,122 ✭✭✭killanena

Tanking isn't hard at the moment, Just requires your attention which is more then you can say about it for HC's in MOP :p

As for rogues, easy class to be good with, Hard to master. They are fun though and with 3 different spec choices, there is sure to be one that you enjoy :)

Bit of both i play a healer (rshammy) and a dps (hunter) and both are adaptable in both.

I will pick one to raid on if i do that but my main focus will be pvp anything from wpvp to arena ect.

I find the pvp side of the game much more interesting as your forced to use the class more than you would in just pve. Some of the better pve players i have come across do a little bit of both so they have a much deeper knowledge of their class.

I played the game again when MoP was released and i got a Panda shammy to level 86 and then stopped playing. Started WoD off with a boost of one of my old Mages to 90 and played to 99 only to stop and now im playing my Panda shammy again. Think is she was resting since a week after MoP release. I'm level 98 now and the whole bar from 98 to 99 is rested . 86-99 all rested

    Just.....though i'd share....that

Haven't played since 2011. Was raiding around the top 100 world for a couple years before I quit. My lock damage was consistently around the top 20 on world of logs during progression and farming. I quit with 3 number 1's on 25 man so at the time I had a bit of an understanding of what was going on.

Started playing last Saturday again having completely missed half of cata and all of MoP. I've started a fresh account as I'm playing in Australia now. Levelled to 100 in 21 hours without really putting huge effort in as Demo and must say I'm not really impressed with my Lock. I think they've sent locks on a bad path. Demo is more fun than affliction or destruction but its nothing like the old demo.

The game just feels like another grind fest like it was when I last played. I dunno. Maybe I just amnt liking it as I'm not with my old guildies etc but I find the game as a whole to be a shadow of what it was for me before I quit.

dam tempted to level my druid to 100 to try out that new cat form thingy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,932 ✭✭✭YouSavedMyLife

Just hit 100 and did a Skyreach run. Every boss dropped an item for me  I was either very lucky that run, or once hitting 100 drops are guaranteed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,122 ✭✭✭killanena

What I notice is that you could have a run with 3 drops on personal loot and then for the next 4 runs you get nothing :P or something you already have in that slot :p.

Although Im full hc geared now except for my trinkets if not warforged and have a my epic ring and helm.
Everyone set for raiding next week? :)

    Edit:
    Oh and they added this:
"Personal loot has returned, and in addition, each player in the group will now always receive an item from the final dungeon boss."
So at least you know you'll get a drop at least and it will hopefully help with people leaving mid instance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

First instance I did was Mines. Got an item off every boss. Second was Docks. Got nothing except for the end boss. Just depends really :)
Crafting my armor too but ruddy hell it takes a while to get all the Truesteel Ingots needed. :(

As a Warlock main, Locks had a big change and I felt it put the class in a good place. Two of the three specs were normally always high ranking in raids, with one typically winning out. Destruction has been the main raiding spec for some time.

There was a major nerf to Demo after the 6.0 drop that left Destro as the only viable raiding spec, but this week there was buffs accross the board bringing all three specs relatively close at the current tier of gear. Demo just marginally ahead.

Personally Demo is my favourite spec, its what I levelled, and now it looks a bit more viable I might run it in raids rather then Destro.

I'd agree that Warlocks have changed, but wouldn't necessarily agree its a bad path. All classes go through somewhat drastic changes over the course of time, the Warlock change was a major feature of an expansion launch. Maybe as a returning player its a bit of a shock and big change, where as someone like me who was playign actively pre change, during change and post change, I just got used to it.

PErsonally I'm liking my warlock and love where its at. In WOTLK I had to drop it in ICC progression for a Boomkin, so ropey and poor it was performing.

You had to drop it in ICC? Why may I ask? I was consistently among the top 1-2 DPS on all fights in progression heroics (pre raid wide buff and the 5% buff i think, when we killed lich king although I did miss the first kill). This was 25 man.

That was among the best time for me on my lock damage wise.

I understand that playing through the changes means you're comfortable with it but I just can't grasp the idea behind making it a resource class. Find it makes the class boring to play. I loved meta as a cooldown. Demo back when I played required thought. So far I'm not seeing much thought required to do reasonable DPS. I seem to be doing OK in the normals I have done. Topped every fight barring one where a hunter beat me and my ilvl has been ****/I've done no real research into what does what. It just feels to me a step backwards but possibly nostalgia is shadowing my opinion.
