Any of them in Belgium as you claim to be?

Stop making a fool of yourself.

Yes, there are global institutions interested in those numbers. Moodys is one example.

And you claim to work in data analytics

Why would Moodys be privy to an internal memo from Irish water?

Actually don't even bother answering. You're clearly out of both your depth and mind.

In Belgium hmmmmmm, a staunch defender of IW, comes across a bit thick and out of touch with the common man. Insanely arrogant. Phil Hogan is that you?

Your really making a name for yourself here. Funny because a couple of weeks back I had a run in with you on the motors forum and just thought you were having an off day, but alas that appears to be a false assumption on my part.

Please do not let a few people stop you from protesting. There are tens of thousands of us who peacefully protest. By not staying on our side, you stand on the side of the cronies.

With all they have done to us on, can you blame people for being angry? You can only push people so far. By the way,I am NOT condoning bad behaviour.

Please understand that the media are skewing the facts. ESPECIALLY the Irish Independent (owned by Denis O'Brien, who owns IW) and RTE (owned by the state).

For people looking for evidence of police brutality, just watch this video
    https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1556055184625172&set=vb.1503037166593641&type=2&theater

You're not going to see this kind of stuff in the news now, are you? You're only going to see one side and they will skew it to the hilt.

Please remain on our side. We are all together in this. We must not allow our water supply to be sold to god knows who!

Firstly, I'm strongly opposed to everything Irish Water and went to the two big marches. I know this whole subject evokes considerable emotion but you have to look at it objectively, she jumped in front of the car carrying the countries top politician. These kind of actions fall outside the category of peaceful protesting and in reality, in plenty of other countries she would receive a severe beating and be brought to court. This is most definitely not police brutality, you've lived a very sheltered life if you think it is. I've seen far worse in the likes of Spain, Germany and Poland even for simple things like not leaving a nightclub quick enough after closing time, in Spain you'll receive a swift baton to the legs for this. I believe FG are listening and marches like the last two, I am certain will bring about change.

No point in watching the news for information on the Revolution. Why would RTE or any of the Denis O'Brien owned media outlets want to show people rejecting a government who fails them?

No, they're much more interested in fear-mongering and yet again dividing society. Why? So we fight with each other instead of fighting back against them.

Every time you judge your fellow man for wanting to make a difference, you stand on the side of the cronies in government and banking!

When I hear a fully costed and credible alternative to get the country back on it's feet rather than the hot air we get from the left I might be convinced.

Shane Ross and Stephen Donnelly are worth listening to, the rest of them aren't.

Address the points above, Address the points as to why 1/4 Million people have taken to the streets.
    All right I’ll bite. :)

Short answer is that the reasons you cite are NOT the reasons so many people are protesting. That can be plainly demonstrated by the fact that every single sin you cite has happened before and people didn’t care, or at least not enough to protest in large numbers. And they didn’t because times were good for them. That short sightedness in our collective make up may be a flaw, a fatal one at that, but that is how it is.

(Granted, yours is a commonly made error. Most laughably with the many people who think that FF were hammered at the last GE because the people suddenly acquired a distaste for low standards in high office. Utterly preposterous of course – the economy tanked – FF got a pasting, simple as that.)

Times are not good for many people now, very bad for many in fact, and that is why they are unhappy and protesting. All of the things you cite may fuel their anger but it is not the root cause.

If the protests against metered water were a runaway success (IW disbanded, all the waste somehow undone, all of the big shots from Enda down out on their ear) you would still have to address the root cause.

And the root cause it that we encountered a 20 billion deficit in our budget a few years back and there was simply no way to deal with that that was not going to place an enormous burden on the majority of people. And metered water, whilst a good idea, is a consequence of and is only now being considered because of the crash.

So I’ll ask you again. What route would you have taken 5 years ago that would not have lead to substantially as much hardship for people as we currently have?

And if the protest against metered water is as successful as you could hope for, what would you propose we do next, that would not impose the same collective total of hardship on the people?

And moral victory type solutions that start with “At least the people …” won’t cut it. Do / did you have a better way? One where people would have suffered less?

That’s a rhetorical question. You don’t. Every time that question is put it goes unanswered. What we will get is childish calls of shill and pretence that various unsavoury issues surrounding the setup and operation of IW are the problem rather than a mere propellant that fuels the anger.

I heard Joe Higgins disgracing himself on radio this evening.

Filling air for minutes, refusing to condemn the behaviour of some protestors.

I switched off before he said anything of value.

I personally remain against metered water and Irish Water but any respect I've had for him is gone.

    Kenny calls protesters kidnappers.

The so called leader of this country, again shows no leadership,by resorting to comments that will only alienate, and agitate,a volatile situation.

Instead of using the opportunity to try to resolve the issue, and show empathy,he resorts to petty and irresponsible remarks.

Which will only cause further division.

He does not have it in him.

If all of this “Facebooking” continues it will not be long before the government includes Facebook into the great firewall of Ireland filter!
