I see no anti-austerity movement of any repute getting any traction. Why , because in reality the majority of people saw the need to implement changes.

This is a great country, a country that is recovering quickly from a massive financial blow, a wealthy country by international standards and one which has shown great courage and leadership by th sway we have knuckled down and got on with the solution

Economic progress is returning, employment is rising, you only have to sit in a cafe in Dublin to see that.

YES, the gov , seriously goofed the IW issues, in particularly by setting up IW using under the table deals with corrupt unions and feather bedding the County Councils. That has been seen through, The Gov will make changes, and I suspect will pay a heavy price at the next election.

Why some types want to tear it down, just to justify their own twisted political policies, the majority of which, have never been tested, by people never in government or any real leadership role in their lives

Nope it think people have got to the final straw with the golden circles, cronyism, nepotism heads in trough nest feathering. IW was the catalyst we could see this gaining traction and completely changing the political landscape here. Minimum in other countries a general election would be forced. Yet these people stay in grasping onto what little power they have left like a life raft.

By then all the facets of privatisation would be in line. Meanwhile in Ireland
One water balloon was thrown,a little idiot kid threw one Brick.

In most democracy's that's a peaceful protest, 2 arrests no one injured no damaged property but Joan lost two hours of her time and got a few people banging on her car

Said this earlier why the hell wasn't there any lessons learnt from last weeks protests with Enda?There was only a handful of Gardai from the start of the protest.

Yeah that's anarchy even the Greek lad's couldn't reach that level

I happen to think that the going-ons in Irish water are largely a red herring. I see little going on there that I haven’t seen before and there were no great protests about it. The idea of paying for water (anathema to us) plus the accumulation of years of austerity is what’s driving the protest.

If (big) the government get IW to bed down soon and if (even bigger) they don’t mess up somewhere else in the next 12 months I think they, or at least FG, might do pretty ok in the next GE.

Most are so blindly loyal to there political parties in that they can't form their own opinion.
The gigs up the people have spoken get rid of IW.
