I tried looking at yours there but can't make them out.
Yours is well kitted out but yeah they need a can badly don't they?

    How are you finding it?
I was a bit iffy about my own for the first hours driving but I opened her up a bit then and it really came to life!
The more I drive it the more I like!!!
Mine also came from Phillip McCallen's first day.
    She's 07 with 10,000 miles on her!

Right the work on the bike.
did not get out much this summer (personal stuff) and the bike Was hardly started in two months. Tried it last weekend, started ok but if, after it was warmed up, I tried rev it, it would start to stall about the 3000.
so weekend just past, Had already received new air filter, oil filter and plugs. Forgot to bring the bloody oil with me.
Tools out, took off tank, drained it fully. Fitted new inline filter. Replaced air filter. Went to remove plugs but noticed bits of sand etc around it so cleaned that first. Quite difficult actually!. Replaced the plugs. Hit start and it jumped to life. (there is always that bit of relief then!) Tried to rev her, same issue. My assumption was clogged jet in the carbs? Does that sound right? Could it actually be stale petrol? Anyway, left her running without bother. Partial kitted up. Took her out. Toyed about with her at the 3000 then eventually it worked itself out. Next 100 odd yards was a little stop start, then bang she was back to her old wayways
    So happy about that,
Next week, oil filter, and oil change.
hopefully then price and buy a hugger, wonda was going the route of the spring wrap. But feel I would have more faith in the hugger. Also won't have to worry about the water getting in there, hidden away from eyes.

I like it for what I use it for ( Daily Commute mostly) Its more practical than the VFR but it is down on power compared to it but sure it is deffo quick enough.

Mine is an 09 sold new from McCallens with a full service history from them and then sold used from mcCallens to me with all the extras :D:D

It'll do a lot more than just commute leppla!
Sure, doesn't have the Power of the vfr but come off the main road and head for some twisties and it really is a cracker!!
    I think you'll love it!

I had the tdm before it and as good as the tdm is the tiger is streets ahead!

Oh yes no doubt it is a very capable bike and I reckon it will keep up with most sports bikes on our irish twistys. And I will be more comfortable!

Does yours have the standard screen? Are you considering an upgrade?

Mine came with a standard and a GIVI touring screen.
The GIVI is good but doesn't look great so I put back on the the standard one.
I might get another one with a spoiler but want a light tinted one so a cam can see through it!
Just didn't come across one I want yet!

Need to change the colour of the main beam to that ice white colour to match the rest....looks good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭goodlad

Yup i agree. Currently looking into a HID kit.
I think the 4300 is more white and will match where as the 6000 hid is blue.

    Will suss it out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

I taught it was the other way around, the 6000 Kelvin was the icey white jobs. But yeah, check it out and let us know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭goodlad

Good comparison. Shows why im being recommended 4300k intead of 6000k.
Deffo 4300 would be my choice

    Sorted my fuel flow problem.
    - Drained tank
    - Removed, disassembled & cleaned fuel tap
    - Realized she diesnt have a fuel filter fitted (what the hell was previous owner thinking?!?)
    - cleaned breather pipe in tank
    - cleaned vaccum hose and valve going to first piston

    No more fuel starvation!

Just copped you took the photo in Andy's.

I have the Osram Nightbreakers for the main beams and have LEDs in the side lights. The LEDs are a bit whiter but there's not a huge difference, not enough to bother me anyway. They're a lot cheaper than a HID kit.

My exhaust is in Dublin so my faith in DHL will improve slightly if they deliver it tomorrow!
They haven't been great in the past to be honest so fingers crossed!

I removed the original so ready for the new one!

How will you know how to ride it without the instruction stickers !!!

Hope your exhaust is on tomorow. Make sure to make a video for us

I keep meaning to take the unleaded sticker off the tank. What did you use, a hair dryer‽

I stuck them on the inside of my visor :D

I rang Dhl and told them I'll meet whatever driver has the exhaust!
They always give my packets to the wrong area and then I end up chasing them down
They lost a racing bike from England before and the replacement took over a month because they said my address was incomplete.
Also one time they got a debt collector onto me for a customs duty charge of €25.
I paid the delivery man when he delivered the package( shur he wouldn't have given me the package otherwise)and when I told DHL this, they said "nothing to do with us now, sort it out with the debt collectors!)
Eventually had to tell them I'll rip someone's fukin head off if they don't stop pestering me :pac:

Yes zubair, a hairdryer, and WD40 to get the glue off.
A polish then and it looks like new!

wash any solvents etc off afterwards, as it can damage paint if left for long periods I think
