Today I did something to my bike..... I dropped it.

Idiocy on my part. Also discovered there is a very slow leak from my rear tyre so gotta figure that out :(

    What happened?

Is there a purpose of tank covers other than protection? I remember using a tank bag years ago and if a small bit of grit got under it, the vibration of the bike would scrape the paint. Does this happen with tank covers?

good protection, and good grips for your knee's I'd say

doubt you'd get grit under em, as easily as a tankbag, as they'd typically never be removed (?)

I find them great for grip and never had stones nor other sh!te get under there as they're a very tight fit. The bagster ones are designed to take a tank bag as well with special clips on top.

Placcy tank on mine so magnetic tank bags aren't an option.

Ordered this to see if I can ride the bike with my bogey hand. Worth a punt.

Dropping it, I was basically just stupid. Needed to move it back, 10 inches, thought I would just do it without getting on. But pulled from the right side.... side stand somehow disengaged and I then spotted the diesel on the ground by the petrol station air compressor.... Boom.

So, mostly, because I'm an idiot :pac: No damage, all good.

My tyre though, I've no clue how it happened. Haven't found the leak yet either :( I really don't want to have to get a new tyre!

No damage, that's the main thing!

The price of that bagster stuff is mental but its the best of the best....the leather in the covers are uber top quality. But to get the cover and a tank bag to suit is over €400.

I got the tank cover for around 150 delivered.
I was very lucky with a bag though.
I bought one off a lad on Adverts for €45.
I think it's a 30 litre and it was only used once.

That's not stupid, that's everything just going wrong. I have the stupidest dropping bike story. Drove into parking space, had it in neutral before the bike even stopped so rolled in. Got off the bike and just dropped it. I normally kick the stand down before the bike stops, but forgot to on this occasion!

BTW, if the tyre is good and you can't find the leak, get a tube in it. Did it recently, cost me €20 supplied and fitted.

I got my Dyno all wired up and slapped a map in.
All flat spots are gone! :D

Will get a custom map next week.

Also got some lowering dogbones fit and dropped the front the same amount.
I feel secure on the bike now as i can get both feet down.

No new damage anyway, plenty of cracks on the fairings and such. But didn't break my clutch lever thank fook.

That's a definite one I might try. Gonna have to proper try to find the leak tomorrow. I'm thinking the most likely culprit is the valve. But can't check fully today because of work :/

Went out and gave my baby a nice pat on the saddle and looked over her. Not a peep out of her, she took me 2018 miles in 5 days and it was the experience of a lifetime. Good food, bad food great gargle and banter like no other! Hit 6 different countries and got home safe with not so much as a puncture......cant ask for mush more then that.

    2en9v6h.jpg
Top of the mountain in Baden Baden, organized kaos looking for my camera. Never wanted a back box more in my life......

Scenery and roads have to be seen to be believed.....the fast twistys through that mountain prove that GOD was a biker!

Would you believe it is Italy Im looking at. I am thinking of the ferry to france as I am stopping in Paris too and then either drive the bike all the way to Italy which is 1500KM I think or get a train which will take the bike also. Early stages at the moment still just toying with the idea, just doing up how much it would cost etc. but it would prob be the end of Oct.

Late Oct is probably too late in the year tbh, the snow melts late and returns early at that sort of altitude. Getting there wouldn't be too much fun either unless you were lucky with the weather.

The stelvio pass looks cool alright, but for me it's a bit stop start looking. I prefer sweeping faster bends.
Was over in Tuscany a few years ago and the roads looked amazing for bikes.

Well if that is your cup of tea the B500 from Baden Baden to southern Germany is gonna blow your socks off. Also the R48 from Kaiserslauten north is to die for. I have them both on the GoPro must stick them up.

Blatting between hairpins is great fun though :)

One of the better biking roads is Route Napoleon to the south coast of France, about 200 miles from Grenoble down to Cannes.

    Under €40 delivered!
    Ebay!
Type in Polisport hand guards and you'll see them!
I think my ones are Polisport Evolution.
I got them of a crowd in Germany and I'd recommend them!

A bit fiddly to fit but not too bad!
I had to loosen the clutch lever and on the other side I took off the brake lever and reservoir.
They're a bit flexible so you can bend them into the position you want.
Less than half an hours work in all.
