    On Sky BB Wireless. It was stopped for a good 20 minutes. Made it to 81% this time, I'll leave it sit for a longer while and see what happens.

    As far as I remember the initial update takes a fair while so be patient :)

    Try to avoid resetting during updates and use a wired connection.

    Anyone got any feedback on the oneguide with UPC?
    Just back from being away for a while and im downloading the new update.
    Please tell me it works with regular UPC and ill be one happy camper

    Works a treat mostly. Now and again it goes to the wrong channel but overall it's great.

    New update rolling out today, I'm downloading it now. It's about 2gb for those with caps/slow broadband.

    See here.

    Some nice little refinements in here. Looking forward to trying out the DLNA player, all my videos are on my network.

    I had to manually kick it off in settings, was only 274mb but seemed to take longer to update.

    Friends on the main dash is now gone for me and the new friends section mentioned is nowhere to be found, and the top left where your prifile pic is has changed and shows your name, gt and gs

    Edit: It's there on my US account but not my own account , weird

    I keep forgetting that this is a general dashboard thread, sorry! Yes, it's a preview dashboard, due to come out in October.

    As per previous dashboard updates in the preview, Microsoft seem to give users different builds of the update, must to try to isolate and identify any issues easier.

    It is, just every time an update is pushed out to preview, it's mentioned here, and then someone says that they didn't get it.

    Minor inconvenience at most, just feel sorry for accidentally tricking people into turning on their Xbox when they don't need to.

    I like the new friends, looks much better. I never understood why you couldn't snap your friends list before.

    Or you can refresh dashboard by holding left and right trigger + Y

    Tested the media player app with my plex server this morning nothing happened, tried it this evening and attached an image of the results :pac:

    Anyone having problems streaming mkvs over the network? Works fine with my wdtv, just cuts out after ten mins on the xbox one media player

    Out of interest, whats the easiest way for me to get my media collection to get the cover images under each say tv show I have?

    Plex does all that for me and then some , download the server to your PC little or no set up needed other than to point it at the folders. It will download the info.

    It looks much better on a TV, samsung smart TV have their own app on the store. I get episode info and even the theme music when browsing a series, the One just shows folders with pictures.

    Wheter you use that or the one to play them , 2 things, TV shows need to be named show name S00E00, and movies need to have the year in the file name.

    Was pulling my hair out as to why some showed up and others not on the client.

    Cheers, began installing plex there an hour ago, picking up the movies quiet nicely on the samsung tv here and all :)

    Just need to figure out how to install a plex server on my nas now and Im sorted.

    Apparently there will be an xbox one plex app coming which would be fantastic!

    Yeah it would, but its third party and information has been hard to come by recently on its development or release.

    Plex also lets you sync videos to devices for offline viewing (which can transcode for you in different qualities & delete one finished watching) & it can download subtitles if necessary too. You can also stream over 3g/4g. Incredible software.
