In fairness, it is a grind school (not the IOE!) :)

I really cannot wait to start, I think the whole structure and way of doing things is really going to suit me!

The IOE is more flexible with study which is not manditory after school

Ok, fairly random question now :), anyone else into Tea/Coffee?

I'm in the minority among my friends, they wouldn't touch either of them!

    Ginger and lemon tea only

The IOE is not a school, they can be as flexible as they want about anything. They can pay as much attention to the Department of Education as your local chipper does.

Please do not ask people to post identifying information on this forum.
Please think twice about any personal details you post.
Posts identifying you on boards will be online long after you have left school.

I posted what school I went to a few posts back and didn't think twice about it.

If we've to be secretive here then so be it.

    Won't happen again.

    Sorry

You don't have to be secretive at all. It's for your own good. You post your name/school/subject choices/college courses now, someone links it to this account, it's easy enough to identify who you are. Ireland's not that big a country.

Fast forward five, ten years and you are looking for a job, your potential employer might have an issue with something you posted in 2015 or 2016.

By all means post away, but be aware that you may not want everything you post to be traceable to you.

I can understand that but I generally stand by what I post here on Boards.

If you type my username into Google it comes up with my Google+/FaceBook/Twitter pages so it'd be easy to identify me if someone really wanted to!:pac:

I can't see why anyone would want to though, maybe I'll change my Boards username one day, I don't know.

Also, if an employer can't respect and acknowledge that their employees may have different opinions, some similar to their own and some different then that definitely wouldn't be a place I'd like to work! :L

    Yay! Lol.

Spurious is right though, we definitely all should be careful with what we say or who we talk to.

You can actually change your username if you pay €5 for a subscriber account!

Excuse my stupidity but what's a subscriber account, and how is it different from the 'normal' account :)

Switched from biology to history for my leaving. Starting Monday.

Just took a look at my books - God, do I have a lot of catching up to do!

Will definitely have to keep the head down & study for these next two years.

    Anyone doing LCVP?

    Anyone doing LCVP?

No it's not offered, but I don't think I'd take it, even if it was. I don't really like the idea of only being able to get a maximum of 70 points.

    Anyone doing LCVP?

We have to go to the LCVP class but we don't have to do it. There's only 7 out of 25 people in my class doing it. The rest of us can just study/do homework at the back. Our teacher said we can all join in with doing CVs and some of the other useful stuff if we want.

I'm already doing 8 HL subjects so there's really no point in me doing it :)

Seems like a nice course though. I mean the papers over in May before the LC and the portfolio is worth like 60% of the marks? Definitely seems worth it for people with a few OL subjects or even someone who could do with a guaranteed 50/70 marks (assuming you put in the effort :p ) Oh and also, anyone doing Business for the LC (or even for the JC) has most of the course done too!

Sounds like a lot of work.. Are you gonna drop any to OL? :O and what are they?

Was back on the 28th. Went into French class and we were immediately given two tests! It's a good job that I actually like the subject, but I think this new French teacher will be very tough on us :o I've had three maths classes so far, one single and then a double on the following day. We spent all those classes studying the history of math! :(

I think I'll be able to manage it. Not yet anyways, I'll have to see how it pans out during the year. I'm doing English, Irish, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Applied Maths and Business.

Is the history of math even on the LC course?

No it isn't! I love history, but a 35 minute and two 40 minute classes looking at a timeline of math history is not fun. I swear time slowed down in those classes. Every other class is away doing their course, and we're here learning about prime numbers in prehistoric Africa, and how Pythagoras didn't actually discover Pythagoras' Theorem :( There's been more faffing about than there was in ty...
