The f*ck it was. One side chanced their arm and sold tickets for which they did not have a license for. They, and they alone, are responsible for any subsequent fallout.

    A local's viewpoint.

Most of the blame lies there for sure.

Also a culture of allowing things to slide until a crises forces a change meant that un-satistactory licensing arrangements have remained in place since a successful injunction moved U2 from Croker to Landsdowne way back in 1997.

A culture of only amending stuff when forced to meant that the DCC had to start doing its job for a really massive event (when residents were massively pissed on).

THe Irish media is also culpable:

e.g They are reporting 3 seperate groups described as "residents" groups.

    1. The actual residents group who are made up of local residents who objected and submitted to DCC.

    2. Some of the local businesses claiming they are the residents group organising marches etc (20 hawkers marched in Ballybough on match day last week)

    3. Another residents group. More bizarre than UFO sighters, these guys are ex drinkers in the Hand ball alley in the old Croke Park. They claim they were promised a new pub licence with the stadium upgrade. GAA just wanted them out and its been war ever since. THe leaflets they send around are militant beyond belief. They are residents only in the sense that they are former local resident drinkers in the old Handball alley bar in Croke pk.

The media are reporting all stories from any of these parties as from "local resident groups". I would take all media reporting/hysteria on this with a massive pinch of salt.

    Culpable are IMO:

    Greed from Brooks, Aiken, Gaa

Incompetent reporting from Irish media, and incompetence from DCC in only doing their job when forced to.

Irish Political interventions on behave of the 3 greedy so and sos above. As some one mentioned earlier, the cowboy connection.

You might as well hear a local's POV. Rant against all of the above.

As another local resident, T runner has summed it up fairly well.

I'm fairly stunned how the GAA have avoided most of the flak as they announced the concerts after the 1D gigs were scheduled and never went to talk to the residents groups despite the 3 concerts a year deal and then consultation for more. Everyone knew round here that there would be court injunctions and more over it but they and Aiken just ignored it all.

All parties should be put into Croke Park and given hurleys and last one standing decides what happens over this sorry mess.

No winners in this game anymore. Best stay quiet and sneak off the pitch when no-ones looking. Who'll notice with the Irish media referee-ing in fairness.

They have a Football qualifier scheduled for the Saturday now I see. What concerts? ;)

That f****r should just be told to f**k off. Who does he think he is that he can expect to get the Taoiseach involved? FFS??????
Jesus, the whole thing is just beyond comprehension. Why are the media giving this so much attention and feeding the stupidity?????? It's like a national crisis! It's an embarrassment.

Agree, the joke is wearing thin now. I was actually cringing watching his press conference.

People stopping their cars to ask the runner clearly exerting themselves for directions (especially when it's in a built up area with multiple pubs and shops about)

You are duty bound to send them the wrong way when this happens.

I just tell them I'll be back in a minute and leave them sitting there while I run miles in the other direction. They'll eventually get the message.

Loose chippings! Lovely new surface, a joy to run on. Some gimp then covers it in tar and stones and feics off never to be seen again. At least come back and sweep up the loose stones you tools, they really hurt when a passing car or truck showers you with them 😠

The whole cyclists versus motorists thing.

Had to sit through a school production of 'Oklahoma' once and even the farmers and the cowmen could get on FFS.

    1) people who don't pick up their dogs poo in my local park. Particularly when they poo is on the grass trail I run on!

    2) people who do pick up their dogs poo in my local park but then leave the small black bag of poo on the grass trail I run on. At least poo degrades quick enough. The black plastic bags essentially become litter!

    3) the mad fcuker who picks up his dog's poo and then hangs the little bags of **** on branches that are at my eye level on the grass trail I run on! I caught the lunatic today and told him to kop on! Started noticing these about a month back. Can't see his logic, especially as there are plenty of bins around. At first I assumed it was someone who was going to loop back and collect them but lots of old hanging bags of **** now litter the park!

There's a couple of nutters around the Phoenix park, and I've seen more recently in Marlay park, who hang bags of crap from trees. I can't comprehend it. What did the guy say?

Hanging bags off trees? Sounds like a Christmassy thing to do

He looked at me as if I was the one who was mental! An exchange of expletives and insults and we were both on our merry ways.

'Professionals' who have bull**** motivational slogans in their email signatures. When I see them, you just make me angry, and not to see the world through the eyes of a newborn butterfly realising its dreams or whatever.
