I'm quoted on here weeks ago saying Barca are up to something with their surprising sales and buys.

Unfortunately this is the downside of Luis excelling on the world stage i.e. having to put up with this ****e for the summer.

I'd say there is currently more of a chance that Barcelona will come in for Suarez than Real. They seen their team decline recently and their Spanish internationals now flop at the WC while at the same time watch Real make some massive transfers and win the Champions League.

They need to do something abit radical this year. They've started that with some interesting signings already but would still expect another big one.

The other thought that entered my head last night was - Hodgson will be sacked soon. Who will replace him? If you were an England fan and you had your choice surely BR's name would be up there. Don't think it will happen but hope he doesn't get dragged into speculation either.

Barca are not buying Suarez and the FA sadly won't have the balls to ditch Hodgson and there is no way Rodgers would even want the job of a national manager at his age with his project on the verge of greatness (oh yes!)

Im sure if Rodgers was managing the England team they wouldnt have lost both games. I was thinking the same yesterday but I seriously doubt BR would do Liverpool and England at the same time.

If the England job does come available Rodgers will rule himself out straight away so I wouldn't worry about speculation.

In more important news for one family in football - the youngest of the Toure brothers has died apparently from a cancer. Ibrahim Toure played for the Lebanese side Al-Safa' SC.

Johnson was definitely giving him a big hug after the goal not sure if what you're saying is accurate

Yes It is accurate. they had a camera view of the whole pitch and only two players went to him immediately. Considering it was a goal that at the time kept them in the world cup you would imagine they would have all went crazy and rushed down to him. If you see that view about 3/4 players went to who ever set it up.

what Luis Suarez said to Stevie at the end of the game.
'Keep going, forget this game, you're one of the best.'

he also says Gerrard is the best player he's played with.

"I don't like it when he hurts like this." - The manlove between Suarez and Gerrard is insane. We love you Luis!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,953 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

just to point out, the way to sift through all the Suarez transfer bullshít this summer is to automatically ignore anything that has a price below £75m. it's an easy way to know if the story was made up.

the £52m figure being thrown around today is worth a tremendous amount of lols.

    Few things of note -
Mick needs to lay off the sauce before posting on the internet and I hope to f**k that the Suarez is given a standing ovation when he gets back to the dressing room and by the fans on the opening day to convince him that it's in his best interest to continue to play for us and score f**king amazing goals for the rest of his career in merseyside.

From the lads I know from Liverpool, he will be a hero for what he did to England. There were probably more Uruguay flags flying in Liverpool last night than English ones.
