If we are going to break the bank for anyone, go all out for Vidal. There would be no-one with a free run at our defence. Great game today, no Spanish player had a second on the ball.

Yeah, a striker who's coming off a season having just scored 27 goals in 35 games, who helped his club to the Spanish league title over the 'Big 2', very much against the odds, as well as nearly making it a double in winning the Champions League. Mere seconds away from the CL in fact. Yes, a steaming pile of ****. Christ.

Not many English players have enhanced their reputation at the world cup so far.

It doesn't mean that they are crap because they didn't perform in 3 games.

It also doesn't mean they are worth gazillions if they do perform in 3 games.

The run in from April onwards is more important than the opening fixtures.

Wishful thinking, don't think so. No point having an easy run in if you are so far off the pace from the tough start.

We should break the bank for Sanchez. His pace, skill and above all work ethic would be perfect for us.

Lovren terrible in first 5 mins for Croatia! Beaten by a change of pace/shimmy from the strikers twice and beaten in the air from a corner

Echo reporting that Liverpool will move for Lallana again after the World Cup.

I don't think he's even fit after his injury. He's going to be like Torres at his peak with Spain if they stick with the current tiki take bs. It'll never get the best out of him.

I fairness to Shamrock55, the RTE panel said the same.

RTE panel's opinion is worth next to nowt, let's be honest. I certainly don't take them seriously, merely for comedy value is why I tune in. Had Shamrock said he's been a steaming pile of **** in the World Cup. I could understand it somewhat. Up to the game where he got injured, Barca in the league I think it was, which was one of the last few games of their season, he was near unplayable from the start of season till then.

Haven't watched enough of him tbh bar the odd CL game and now the WC, where I was very surprised he was actually in the Spanish squad but I must admit that I wouldn't be too concerned that Chelsea have solved their goal scoring frailties by singing him.

    James Pearce @JamesPearceEcho · 57m

@gharley1981 Definite interest in Sanchez who would be a great signing but fee/wages could be an issue. Time will tell.

If a man is allowed to dream, I would absolutely love to see both Vidal and Sanchez in this current Liverpool team. They both seem perfect for us.

I imagine there is absolutely no hope in getting Vidal currently but I really do hope there is truth in the Sanchez rumours.

Well done to a former foe. It has to go down as one of the greatest WC goals.

Fee/wages could be an issue - where have we heard that before?
If he's THAT good, then he'll cost THAT much...

We seem to be stuck on an infinite loop with this stuff.

We are gonna have to break the bank for these players.

Borini and cash to Soton deal mooted for Lallana. Couldn't Koeman make some use of Aspas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,623 ✭✭✭googled eyes

The club seem to want to play low ball every offer. If we're going for high calibre players, the club will have to put forward high calibre deals

I had high hopes for this window. But it seems to more of the same from the club. More fool me

Yeah we should just jump in and pay over the odds straight away. Why even try negotiating?!?

Im not exactly sure, maybe its FSG looking at their wallet and making that awkward coughing noise.

Maybe we dont want to seem like we'll spunk money over every hot prospect.

    Maybe we're acting stupidly...
