Ha ha of course. 'Two teams in need of a keeper spark chase for man of the moment'. Shocker!

    BS most likely.

Fixture list looks decent. Playing Man City away early could be ideal. December looks like a tough enough month for games.
l cannot wait for the new season to start. This World Cup is just a distraction.

on the guardian podcast they said he had a huge cult status in Mexico, saying he had massive commercial appeal. For that reason alone I say sign him up!

The problem with signing players based on World Cup performances.
Remember Salif Diao and El Hadji Diouf.

I reckon this is instead of Lallana not in addition to. Also if he is signed for 16m-ish I'd expect Liverpool to look for an out and out attacking option as well.

He's a 22 year old prospect, while I know not everybody is going to do a Hendo on it, Rodgers has shown that he's very good at developing talent - us getting a player like Shaquiri has the potential to be amazing

I remember Ochoa used to be a wonder kid in one of the old FIFAs! For that reason alone, I say sign him up!

With the World Cup I'd forgot about the CL. Class, some good nights in the local to look forward to after the WC ends.

Anyway a fairly tough old start to the season. Southampton, Man City, Spurs and Everton all within the first 6 games.

Man U and Arsenal then over Christmas. Then we have Man U and Arsenal together as a pair again in late March/early April.

First match after the first CL game is West Ham away. Potentially very tricky. You really want home games after midweek CL matches.

The next 4 CL games are followed by home fixtures thankfully until game 6 when we have United away afterwards. Not ideal.

That said so many of these league games could yet be rearranged.

Haven't checked anyone else's fixtures but United have gotten an even easier start than we had last year. Don't play anyone decent until October. And even that is Everton at home.

    Horrible opening fixtures, if true.

    I think it's grand.

I'm not in the slightest bit worried about Southampton or Spurs.

Even if City is too much for us, I'd fully expect 6 from 9 and with a fairly straightforward September, we can get off to a cracking start.

    .

Thats a very nasty August for us. Happy we at home in our first game but they are very hard games there. Really hoped we have an easier start to chalk up afew victories and get the confidence flowing through the team. You cant underestimate the momentum a good start to the season can offer as last season showed. With CL to content with again i think thats abit of nightmare start for us.

In contrast, Utd and LVG will be under pressure to see a big improvment and they have an excellent chance of a great start with such an easy fixture list. Its an actuall ridiculous how easy it is…certainly gives them a chance to chalk up early points and get the fans and media off their back.

I know every team must play eachother but as with so many other things in life timing is everything and that first 6 games for Liverpool is very tough, hopefully the lads will be up to task but expect dropped us to be abit of the pace in august and hopefully make it up as we get into the season.

and if Liverpool win 4 and draw/lose one each the opening 6 we'll be laughing.
    16 - Southampton (H)
    23 - Manchester City (A)
    30 - Tottenham Hotspur (A)
    September
    13 - Aston Villa (H)
    20 - West Ham United (A)
24 - Capital One Cup third round
    27 - Everton (H)

The run in from April onwards is more important than the opening fixtures. After the first few weeks last season Arsenal looked favourites. If we can learn anything from United in the last 20 years it's that a solid run from Xmas peaking in the last 3rd of the season is much more important.

Do enough to get out of the group in the champs league and stay in the pack for the league. Peaking early isn't helpful.

I see a player who I've rambled on a fair bit in the past in Kouyate has signed for West Ham. Good signing for them. Him and Sakho would have broken all the gym equipment had we signed him.

Potentially here are our fixtures after each Champions League game if the schedule has not been changed from that of the past number of years...

Weekend after the FIRST Champions League game:
    West Ham (a)

Weekend after the SECOND Champions League game:
    West Brom (h)

Weekend after the THIRD Champions League game:
    Hull (h)

Weekend after the FOURTH Champions League game:
    Chelsea (h)

Weekend after the FIFTH Champions League game:
    Stoke (h)

Weekend after the SIXTH Champions League game:
    Man Utd (a)

Chelsea at home and Man Utd away the weekend after a CL game is going to be a real stickler.

    Arsenal:
    Villa (a)
    Chelsea (a)
    Sunderland(a)
    Swansea (a)
    WBA(a)
    Newcastle(H)
    Man City:
    Chelsea (h)
    Villa (a)
    West Ham (a)
    QPR (a)
    Southampton(a)
    Leicester(a)
    Chelsea:
    City(a)
    Arsenal(h)
    Man Utd(a)
    Liverpool(a)
    Sunderland(h)

    Hull(a)

    Man Utd:

.. they do have the advantage of meeting Liverpool, Chelsea at home after they play midweek.

as you can see Chelsea have some really hard fixtures after the CL nights.
