Used hurler last yr on after grass.. Thought it set the grass back a bit... How'd you find it??

Sprayed reseeds with it on Saturday. Grass looks fine. Going to use it on silage ground next week for docks

Have after grass to do myself next week... It'll be doxstar pro..... If only the grass would grow at the same rate as the docks and weeds...

Anyone know why doxstar is not recommended for knapsack use

Dockstar is best, none of above

MCPA and mortone are the same they are both MCPA based so while they will kill the top growth and set docks back they will not kill same. If you had dock in ground with rushers where you were spraying regularerly with MCPA and an activator it would over time kill them.

Hurler will kill docks and so will Hi-load Micram. I find Micram very effective and cheap at 10 euro/acre. Have never used Hurler but a few on here have and seem to have got good results

    Lads,

I have a field after reseeding that has alot of thistles and nettles. Would MCPA be the best for this? I see 10L is only €48 but 1L of grazon is €60.

If weeds are at seedling or a little beyond MCPA is ideal, cheap and cheerfull. Not sure of dosage rates however it will setabck clover and may kill it completely. However if you have a weed issue I would wipe out the weeds and forget about clover

    €90 for 5L on magenta.

Does anyone know if Agritox 50 will kill rushes. It says it contains MCPA 500 g/L.

Thanks, reseeded last year but only got to graze this year and it's up for silage now. Ready to cut this week. There was a few thistles and a patch or two of nettles but they have taken over a good section of the field now.

I want to tackle these with a knapsack and go for the cheapest but most effective option. Will tackle when regrowing after silage cut. No clover so ok. It's annoying they have taken over so much and damaged grass. Should have tackled them earlier. Rest of grass is clean.

Got mcpa there today. 26 for 5l or 50 for 10l
Got it for spraying around dutches and under wires. Dirt cheap compared to grazon or the likes

The only reason to buy grazon or terbel or scrubkiller is if you have briars or woody weeds to kill. Things like nettles, thistles are easy enough to kill

Yep all that's in this place is nettles and thistles. No sign of a dock.
It says in the can though that it kills docks too

somebody round this way has had a go at brambles along a few of the road stony walls and it has been very successful, just sticks left, never seen the like before.

What did he use? Grazon 90 leaves crunchy sticks from brambles here, to be honest it is the easiest thing it kills, only needs a brief spray. I'd like to find something cheaper/more cost effective tho......

I don't know, I just noticed the effect. If I see a man in the field I'll ask him, but it dosnt seem to have killed anything else.

Do you mix the 2 together and just spray away, or spray individually

I think if you shop around you can get MCPA for around 40, last Thursday's rag had a price guide on sprays, MCPA was as low as 35 and Micram 66. I find that some co-op's and merchants are better than others. Liffy mills are usually not too bad, dairygold co-op's, there is a place in Ennis that when I passed throught a while back, McInerneys I think. There is a miller near Patrickswell in Limerick.

Animal medicines are the same you be amazed how much you save i got the turbomec that someone put the link up to on Monday. 100 euro 2.5 litres that is 40c for a 500kg bullock for worms:D. Its dated to end of 2016 so it will last. You have to shop around and know your ingredients if you want to save money

Was that on the ag direct sight? Sum good deals on it. Local coop will often drop the price to match if you say you can get elce where for x amount.

Have a few annoying docks coming up around where the ground was disturbed for doing the tunnel foundation, think I still have some Grazon left, kill them for this year only or kill them entirely?
