Do you mean will the Grazon kill them entirely or just short term ?
Im not at all well up on sprays ( only sprayed my first few acres the last night !)

Sorry, I wasn't advising, I was asking myself :) Never had an issue with docks before really, but there's a lot coming up where the ground was dug up.

Is Agritox any good for docks? It's 1/4 of the price of doxstar

Is grazon less effective from july onwards? Is it more effective on early growth stage of nettles etc.?

I know it can be used on docks, but I'm wondering is it any good? I can't imagine that's on the label!

Yes it is MCPA that should be enough to tell you it is no use against docks it say on lable that top growth only of docks will be killed. That is why I say google it and read the label

Only got a decent sprayer the last month or so. Great satisfaction in seeing a field of rushes go red. Topped the hoors last summer, only encouraged them!

Regarding the Sprayer Testing scheme, will it be rolled out for contractors first, or who exactly will be testing/ registering sprayers? Will it be part of the SFP inspection regime?

What did you spray them with ?

Fair enough, thanx. Used it last wk, also used doxstar and hurler, definitely the poorest of the 3. Didn't even kill the top growth of some of the docks, think I'll save the rest for rushes!

Agroxone 50. about 1.25 litre per acre in about 150 litres water.

Not sure exactly what the deal on the actual testing, but all operators, using above a certain amount of chemical/ a specific acerage(cant remember either off top of my head) will have to register as a "competent operator"

I have never seen so much growth, of docks briars nettles , indeed grass also, so pehaps the conditions allowed the docks to survive, ie they were not stressed

I sprayed with dockstar pro 2 weeks ago and not a single dock to be seen at all,

ther is a field I pass by every day and in early june it had the heaviest crop of docks I had ever seen

he cut his silage in the middle of june and is growing since and there isn't a single dock in it now, I reckon he would have to had sprayed them.

I wouldn't consider anything else only dockstar now having used many other products

the spraying conditions probably weren't ideal ?

    maybe too hot ?

I sprayed at 10 o clock at night on a humid night with no breeze and got a great kill

Docks are absolutely simple to get rid of.
Spray in the month of May and again in September. Repeat ad nauseum.
Trying to control them any other time of year is not on.

    MAY and SEPT.

Docks must be "soft" and actively growing. Once you leave May they are getting "crabby".

I sprayed aftergrass with young docks with a soft leaf

if they have developed a tough stem or gone to seed you are wasting your time and money spraying
