Is it confirmed? Nice of both clubs to organise a warm up for next year's Champions League Final. I'll be back in Ireland hopefully around the time of the game.

Brad Jones is being thrown in as back-up to Weidenfeller as well. Defence sorted for a couple of years.

Pearce, Barrett, Bascombe probably have the best connections. Maybe throw in Andy Hunter as well.

Bascombe has really gone downhill since he left the echo...wouldn't be too convinced by his connections anymore.

Surely the likes of Barrett were shown to be nothing but spoofers back in January with the Konyaplanka deal.

Twitter is a great idea in theory but the fact that so many people buy into what they read by "reliable" sources is worrying. How many times has a player been signed, sealed and almost delivered according to these people only for it to never happen? Look at Kroos this week for more evidence of it happening at another club by someone deemed as "reliable".

I'm not going against the main point of your post but the Konoplyanka transfer in Jan is hardly a good stick to beat anyone with.

It was up there with some of the most bizarre transfer fiascos with a club owner at the 12th hour refusing to put his final signature on a contract probably weeks in the making.

Nobody could have predicted that.

Wasn't the Kono deal taken off the table at the last minute by the the other team's owner who while a price was a greed wouldn't let the deal go through?
