the Liverpool Fire Chief rang Brendan the other night and said,

"Mr Rodgers, Anfield Stadium is on fire but we're doing our best to put it out"

Brendan screamed, "the cups, the cups, save the cups"

The Fire Chief said, "calm down sir, it hasn't reached the canteen yet"! :pac:

French striker Loic Remy has held talks with Liverpool and Arsenal over a summer move, a source close to the player told Press Association Sport on Thursday.

Would be a great third striker option, a real game changer to be able to bring on, and a very capable deputy for both Suarez and Sturridge.

Suarez had a knee operation? Probably crocked. Time to sell for £100m

    We're also interested in schneiderlin.

Anyone else think we should just put all the Southampton players in a line up outside Anfield and have Brendan pick.

I'm really conflicted. For most of my adult life I've dreaded the possibility of England winning the WC, largely due to their insufferable media but can't shake the feeling I'd be quite happy to see Stevie G holding the trophy over his head.

Be nice to have the full set when he gets the Premier League next year.

I suggested last week that buying Southampton would be cheaper at this point.

The number of players linked it raises an important issue - why didn't Soton win the league? :pac:

Would be absolutely over the moon if we signed Schneiderlin.

While he can play out wide, I fancy he'd opt for Arsenal as he'll only have Giroud and Sanogo to compete with vs Suarez and Sturridge.

With the Lars Bender injury news, it might force Leverkusen's hand in having to keep Emre Can.

Don't really like Emre Can. Liveprool could attract far better players than him. Can't see Rodgers liking him either. You probably know more about him than I do but I just can't see him being the calibre of player that Liverpool will want to attract.

Southampton are in for Scott Sinclair, wonder if that might tell us anything about the Lallana bid

Poncherello looks now to be staying at Southampton so I would expect news about Lallana sooner rather than later.

two or three quotes from Dnipro now in the last few days stating that as his 'foreign club' buy out clause.

he is entering his last year of his contract and I am hoping all these rumours are from the club trying to drum up interest, and we have something already in place:o

Mauricio Pochettino staying is good news, add the Sinclair bid and I think we could indeed see some fairly quick movement.

TBH if he prefers Man U to us it doesn't sound like he's the most motivated individual. He wouldn't be going there for football reasons.

Maybe not, I'd have thought he'd have got assurances about selling his best players. Either not for sale or going for top dollar.

Kicker were saying it's a thigh injury and it's enough to keep him out of the World Cup. He'll probably return to his club to get further assessment.

Certainly agree with the bit in bold. I can understand why Liverpool would be interested however. I think the fact he's so versatile, physical presence and has youth on his side is a major selling point, even if he's not my preferred choice in CM or DM. Though I believe he's better off staying at Leverkusen for another year or maybe two.
