Anyone else find it interesting that Lance said they needed a mask to beat a mask? Implied to me that they're aware of other masked vigilantes either in Starling or other cities.

It's possible Thea shot at someone behind him?

I'm wondering if he's going to take her off to train her up to become red arrow (rather than Roy) being as Oliver keeps calling her speedy?

Also whoop whoop for Sara being black (in all but name) canary! :D

They really aren't into the old school superhero name colours in Arrow are they? :(

Maybe Felicity comes up with the names and we know she doesn't like all these colours.

When Sara was taking off her disguise(wig, mask), I was waiting for her to remove something from her corset that gives her that cleavage. :pac:
(Yeah I'm sure the corset itself helps)

Given that he knows of two, I wouldn't think there is anything more to read into it.

That was a great episode! Full throttle from beginning to end. Like another poster, I thought the flashbacks just detracted from the episode this week. Nothing useful happened either. Normally the storylines in Starling are so slow that the flashbacks add a bit of pace to the episode but they had the opposite effect this week.

Sorry to see Blood go myself. I thought he'd be hanging on for S3 at this stage. I thought it was a good turnaround for the character and I'd like to have seen some development. Thea on the other hand, I wish she was killed off. I'm sick of her whinginess and her sulking. Maybe she did shoot at someone or something behind daddy but still, just get with the damn program bitch!

They had to show the flash backs as its building up to something on the island just as much as on the present. It's part and parcel of the show.

I for one really enjoy the Flashbacks, its a nice change of pace.

The acting/writing talent just keeps plummeting, this show has gone to complete poop, ill prob watch the last episode but after that no more..

Season 1 was so much better, now its worse than smallville ended up, and its only S2!!

Ah no, season 2 was a cracker.

Great finale and a nice set up for Season 3.

Pity Malcolm was on the fringes for this, but I'm sure we'll see more of him next season.

Season 2 of Arrow ranks in my top 10 seasons of all shows ( a list that includes The Wire Season 4, Dexter Season 4).

From a show which I literally expected nothing from when I started watching it, it has grown into the one which I look forward to the most each week.

This finale was no different, some great scenes (how often do you see such good cinematography on a CW show - the two Arrow/Slade fights happening together was so well done). Leaves more of a blank slate for Season 3 than we have had before but there are so many possibilities for it going forward.

I'd argue that Season 1 was nowhere near as good - The first half people were only getting used to their characters, Felicity wasn't involved until halfway - very villain of the week. Since around the first Huntress episodes in Season 1, this show has been on an upward climb creatively that has just kept going.

    Bring on Season 3!

Epic Finale , easily topping the season 1 finale.
Highlights and theories for Season 3:
-The Oliver/Slade fight changing from past to present was fantastic
-Thea leaving with Malcolm ( returns to Starling as new dark archer or even Cheshire ?)
    - the whole "Olicity" moment at the manor and beach (probably going to be the whole will they or won't they thing for next season)
-supermaxx at Lian Yu for all the criminals they will defeat and leaving Slade alive( prison break during Season 3 finale or even season 4)
    - Oliver in Hong Kong meeting Waller who was the woman Fyers was talking to in Season 1(meets Richard Dragon or even Katana)

I had no problem with the action/fighting etc, infact its the only thing that hits the spot, its the execution of the acting and the words they say, slade is a great presence.

I guess i could aim the weakness in characters towards the women, for example every scene in episode 22 with the canary was poorly acted cliched cheese, and the scene with felicity and Oliver where they have their "city needs you" speech and she gives him a big hug, its just so meh, cliched, unconvincing, que card reading and eye role inducing tripe. I never got any of this in season 1. Am i alone in this?

And comparing the arrow to the wire, i know everybody is entitled to their opinion, but C'mon!! :P

John Barrowman has been promoted to Series Regular

thought it was a good enough season finale but thought the first season one was slightly better. The Slade Wilson storyline resolution wasn't great and Barrowman was wasted in the episode. At least Laurel was largely absent from the episode. Overall a strong 2nd season and good to see Nyssa in in that really great outfit again.

The Starling police force need to do a bit of recruiting over the summer me thinks ;)

Full trailer for the flash is out now too, with Oli doing the segway by the looks of it.

Looking good anyway, hopefully they keep it up to what we've come to expect from Arrow. :)

Hoping Thea keeps her promise of never returning. But unlikely.

It's entirely possible for Laurel to become Canary next season. She seems to know martial arts which is more than a non mirukuru-ed Roy can do, yet he seemed to have no problem getting involved. Of course I'm not serious. At least I hope not.

Nice to see Nyssa has a type anyway. Clearly a thing for blondes. Or just hot women. Either works for me.

Who were the other Squad members Diggle freed?

Think out of the 4 season finales and 1 series finale(W13) I've seen this week, Person of Interest is the best.

Yes, PI was the best but talking genre, I'd put Agents Of Shield before this. The fighting was pretty cool and I like they've moved things on from the island to Hong Kong but I'm debating whether I should stay in for Season 3 or not. The reason being that the way they resolved the Slade arc was absolute pants.

The way I see it, the season started with Ollie deciding he wasn't going to kill any more. OK, that was a bit of a cop out but I could see how it was caused given the events of Season 1. Things progress and, while I hoped/expected that his resolution might fall by the wayside, he stuck with it and I bought into it and figured that if it was really, really necessary he'd actually kill if circumstances warranted it. Midway through the season Slade shows up on the scene. He's pumped up on Mirakuru and out for revenge but it's not all that obvious at first. Then things escalate fairly quickly. Slade recruits an army and hops them up on Mirokuru too. To add to that he starts getting a bit menacy with Ollie and there are one or two close calls where the Arrow team have to prevent a Queen family member from being kidnapped. While this is going on, Slade also has another plan to steal Ollie's company and rig the mayoral elections. Eventually though Ollie's family get kidnapped by Slade and are terorised with the result that Ollie's mother is killed. Things go from bad to worse when the city is overrun by mirakuru warriors and plenty of people are killed. The only way to defeat them all is to assemble a group from the League of Assassins. Given all that, I think Oliver killing Slade would have carried far mor weight than the 'Oh let's just lock him up on the Island' scenario. You just know he's going to escape. It's one stop up from 60's Batman in that way.

They'd already established he'd taken the low road and tried to kill Slade instead of curing him back on the island earlier in the season(shown in the finale) so it made more sense from the perspective of Ollie's arc for the season to have him spare him this time around.

Beside the villains life being spared by the hero is a comic staple, and Arrowverse isn't so well stocked with awesome villains that it can afford to be breaking with that tradition.

Fair point but at the same time as well, they're now in S2. It's likely the show will only run to 5 seasons so they can surely line up 2-3 more vilains!
