Fair point but at the same time as well, they're now in S2. It's likely the show will only run to 5 seasons so they can surely line up 2-3 more vilains!

His character is a major villain through out the DC comics universe so they are hardly going to kill him off so early on.

Epic Finale , easily topping the season 1 finale.
Highlights and theories for Season 3:
-The Oliver/Slade fight changing from past to present was fantastic
-Thea leaving with Malcolm ( returns to Starling as new dark archer or even Cheshire ?)
    - the whole "Olicity" moment at the manor and beach (probably going to be the whole will they or won't they thing for next season)
-supermaxx at Lian Yu for all the criminals they will defeat and leaving Slade alive( prison break during Season 3 finale or even season 4)
    - Oliver in Hong Kong meeting Waller who was the woman Fyers was talking to in Season 1(meets Richard Dragon or even Katana)

    Yeah, pretty much this!

    Excellent finale........

I know smallville is over, but the green arrow was a feature character in that show so are we ever likely to get a (new) Supes crossover? Aquaman? Or even considering the major pairing of Green Lantern in the comics, could that be a possibility? Too comic-booky?

I know Im losing the run of myself now but just some thoughts while we wait for the next season.........

i dont know how the relationship between CW and DC works, but if GA can appear in smallville i dont see why CK couldn't make an appearance in Arrow, being fair to the show theyve gotten this far without the need to have him appear, so i cant see him coming into it in the future,

there are literally hundreds if not thousands of characters that could be introduced into the show, theyve been writing the comics for over 6-7 decades,

If they want to do a Marvel, they would need to tie it into the Superman movies somehow. Especially if they're doing the Justice League movie, they should use their already established Arrow and Flash.
As for Green Lantern, he may be better suited for The Flash since it's the more superpower kind of show. Plus they established Ferris Air exists.

Bit off topic, but Smallville had very stringent rules that they had to follow in order to use the "Superman" story, some that I can think of were he wasn't allowed to fly, he couldn't have a cape, he couldn't be called Super, no tights, I'd imagine there has been so many court cases about the Superman rights that CW wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Think that was more of a self imposed rule. As they put it "No tights, no flight"

Those showrunners left later on and that's when we started seeing more costumes show up like the Justice Society

Wasn't there something that he always wore the Superman colours in some form. The rights for Superman are a bit of a nightmare and they were up in the air for ages, this might have lapsed a bit now.

DC are trying to follow Marvel with their Universe except they are starting with TV with the hope of getting movies whereas Marvel went the other way about it.

Yeah he always wore the red and blue which led to comments from his friends about always wearing primary colours.
The rights issue was with the estate of Jerry Siegel, the creator of Superman and meant there were problems with using characters like Supergirl, Superman and Superboy, which they did anyway.

As for the DC universe onscreen, they haven't a hope of being as successful as Marvel. They can never commit to one thing. You just have to look at the history of DC tv and movies. They just concentrate on Batman and Superman ignoring every other character. It's only recently they've started to realise their other characters and even then you saw a few years ago they were planning on making a Justice League at the same time the Nolan Bat movies were still going and were taking about another Batman for it.
Then there's their animated series which are cancelled nearly as soon as they start, even though those are where they easily beat Marvel.

And the worse thing is out of the 2 companies, DC should have been more successful since their parent company also owns network and cable channels and a movie studio, while Marvel had to look out for themselves, at least until Disney bought them.

In fairness Marvel didn't do great signing away the rights to a lot of their major characters (Spider-Man, Kingpin) and losing control of it, in fact the current Marvel Universe is probably the only time comic books have been handled correctly and that's mainly because Marvel are in complete control

Does anyone else hate the flash back scenes? They're annoying me now!

    Good episode.

Side note (Mr E started this trend, haha) do any of you watch the Tomorrow people? Stephen from the Tomorrow People (Robbie Amell) and Ollie (Stephen Amell) are cousins in real life. I can see the family resemblance.

What about Robbie as Connor :p I know too old

3 Castings made in the last 3 days. They are really upping the quality of guest stars for season 3.

Lots of rumours floating about that Amell's Arrow will be part of the Justice League movie. Big announcement due to come at Comic-con. Amell confirmed last night that he wont be in Batman vs Superman, but said nothing about Justice League

It would be stupid to not tie it in now. Arrow and Flash have their own shows so it would mean their origins wouldn't need to be explained. At least not in detail
As long as it dioesn't cause the same kind of restrictions on the series as the Marvel movies did on Agents of SHIELD

Brandon Routh to play Ray Palmer (the Atom) who is the new owner of Queen Consolidated

Synposis for episode 1 of season 3. From the CW PR site so could be real.
In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow

What? When did Felicity die that they have to "mourn her loss"?

*Disclaimer* I didn't actually read the spoilers so I have no idea what happens in the first episode. Sorry. :pac:

I have a feeling the whole Oliver/Felicity thing this season will be something like this:
    -Date in first episode
-Felicity gets hurt on date or in mission
-Oliver decides its safer if they don't date
-Felicity starts dating Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) making Oliver jealous who starts dating Laurel or somebody else
-Oliver and Felicity get together during second half of season
In other words, a typical CW show
